Text-to-Teaching Connection: This story seems appropriate for a Kindergarten math lesson. The story describes how 5 little ducks hide from their mother in a fun game of hide-and-seek. The teacher could read the story and then use rubber ducks to hide around the classroom. The students could break into small groups and have 5 ducks assigned to each group that are hidden by the teacher. The students could use a dry erase board to write down simple equations as they find each duck. Example: One group of 5 students finds 2 ducks at first, so on their dry-erase board they would express the equation 5-2=3. This would help them keep track of how many they have left since they know there are 5 ducks they need to find total.

This is such a cute book that I would love to read in my future classroom. It is a fun story that allows the kids to follow and count along throughout the story. It teaches them simple math. This book also has very good pictures that kids will love.

Little Quack's Hide and Seek by Lauren Thompson is a cute book about a family of ducklings playing hide and seek with their mother. It has bright illustrations that delighted Harriet.

Little Quack is the last to hide when her mother starts counting. She watches as all her siblings take the best hiding places. In desperation she ends up finding the best hiding spot. Her solution is a humorous twist on the typical hide and seek picture book story.

As a parent I laughed along with my children as Little Quack pulled that trick on her mother. I can't tell you how many times my children have been right beside me and in my panic to keep them near me I haven't seen them doing exactly what I've asked. The only unbelievable part of the book was how the other ducklings kept quiet. When one of my two is hiding in plain sight, the other doesn't keep quiet about it.

Mother duck decides to play hide and seek with her ducklings. They all hide save Little Quack who can't find a spot. But being clever, he finds the perfect hiding spot and is the last to be found!

Cute.

The illustrations are colorful and expressive.

This was one of my favorite children's books as a kid. It is about a momma duck and her five ducklings who play hide and seek together. The illustrators are great and the book includes simple math that the children can easily follow along with.

Little quack has great adventures as he explores his world for the first times and many of the adventures are about this little duck coming into contact with something for the first time. A great little series that is wonderfully illustrated. The little duck is fully animated with a Hugh range of facial expressions.

This is a great book, especially for those learning to read, count, add, and subtract. It shows five ducklings playing hide and seek with their mother. You can count along with the mother. You can follow along at the bottom and count the ducklings. It also shows the subtraction and answer. It's a really cute book and it can help make learning fun.

Little Quack's Hide and Seek would be perfect for Kindergarten students in my opinion. The story is about a Mama duck and her 5 little ducklings playing a game of hide-and-seek. It is a short and simple story that young students would love. This book can also assist in beginning counting 1-10. Some students may be able to read this story alone or with the assistance of an adult.

I loved this book, it is so fun! the pictures are nice. And the font is nice also. This book is good for a child in second grade who is reading. I also like that this book has the math at the Bottom, this I great because children can learn math and reading.

This book describes a mother duck and her four ducklings as they play hide and seek. As each duckling finds a hiding place the author counts down by 1. This book would be very helpful in helping students to understand basic subtraction.

Super cute illustrations accompany very simple text about a duck family playing hide-n-seek. There's numerals and duck pictures across the bottoms of several spreads to help kids make a connection to addition and subtraction.

A decent, but not outstanding, group read aloud at story time.

Adorable ducklings play hide and seek with their mom. Counting to ten and simple subtraction and addition as duckling hide and are then found one by one. Cute and clever.

Nothing out of the ordinary here. The illustrations weren’t my favorite kind of style. I bumped it up a star because the littlest duck was kinda cute.

I read this book multiple times to a one-year-old and to his brother, who is in kindergarten.. They really enjoyed it. We counted how many ducks still had to hide and later how many were found. The book has an illustration about subtraction at the bottom of each page, but that was above their level because they are so young. I asked the kindergartener questions about where each duckling hid and if it was a good idea to hide behind the mommy duck. he was surprised when Little Quack was the last duckling to be found. I love the illustrations in this book. This book shows how to do the subtraction at the bottom of the page, I did not use that for these two boys.

This book deals with the mamma duck and her five little ducks. They play hide and seek and the mamma looks for them all and they all have a great time.

This book not only has a funny story but the illistrations are well portrayed. When reading this book it has a fun story to enjoy but also it helps young children to count. On the bottom of the pages it is either adding or subtracting little ducks. This book might make it possible to help work on math with younger students in the classroom. It is a very CUTE picture book. (Thats for you Nicholle)
