A missing husband should be an easy case to solve, but a bitter single father and a heartbroken hellhound are probably not the right people to ask—especially when the case leads them straight to a succubi brothel. A deadly disease has been striking down human clients, and while everyone else is busy covering up their tracks, Val and Peter are ready to hunt down the real truth, even if that means exposing a member of the Senate.

I love Val and Peter! They are such a formidable team, though Peter's cynicism really needs to take a back burner. His old self tends to creep up and mess with his job and that sucks because I feel he has been doing great trying to change his ways. Also this hatred he has towards Phoenix, that really needs to ease up because Phoenix is a great person to have in your corner. At this point I don't even think he's jealous of Ava and Phoenix sleeping together, he's pretty much over his fiasco of a relationship with her. I think it's just a man thing...who knows.

The succubi turned out to be pretty helpful people. They are not the whores others have made them out to be. They actually help people, sad that groups like Humans First exist, only to cause mayhem where there isn't any.

Overall this was a very interesting read, very mysterious with the virus infecting people and trying to find its source, well it was just a page turner..

BTW...I'm glad Val is moving on, her true feelings come out in this book, makes me want to slap Lucia even more...sighs...

It was a bit slower paced than the rest of the series but sped up about 75% into the book.

Really interesting. It gives a deeper insight into the succubus and shows them in a different light than what we have been used to.

We also see another side to Val and get to know Peter a lot more.

Do I detect a potential relationship with Val and Kavanagh in the future?

There's still so much more I'm craving to get from this series. I really hope we learn more about the Eleven in the next few books. Also, Lucia and Val? We need a definite ending (or not) to their relationship. What about Emmett and his mentor? We need to see more of Emmett.

So much! Let's read on and see.

Murder, Framing , and More

I gave this book a rating a 5 because I loved it. I loved how the perspective of them changed about others when they took the time to look at them in another perspective. Like when Peter thought only bad about Paula until he kept digging. He learned that he wasn't as bad as he thought she was. Val thought it wasn't good to talk about her feelings but than realized she needed friends to rely on when she needs a shoulder to cry on and let everything out. I recommend this book to anyone that loves anything dealing with the paranormal.

All in a day's work

The beautifully bleak dystopian Europe in Claire Farrell's world seen through the eyes of a hellhound hybrid and a former demon executioner. The dicotomy of their friendship shows hope for a deeply segregated culture of humans and supernaturals trying to find their way out of the shadows and into the mainstream.

Peter and Val carry their malingering heartache

Pretty good

Overall a good read on the Ava Delaney universe. Only problem is that the end felt rushed after all the build up and a lot of unanswered questions remain.

I wore Claire's books. She has not wrote a bad one yet. This one continues in Ava's world with Val and Peter. They are working for the Succubus to figure out what is causing harm to humans in relation to them. Lots of mystery and a great ending.
