I received Muerte en Las Vegas in return for an honest review from the author. When the daughter of a prominent lawyer from Colorado is found dead having fallen off the hotel Bellagio her murder quickly turns into a smear campaign to hide the truth. When Raja get’s the call he and Vinny head off to sin city to clear her name and find out what really happened. Arriving in Las Vegas reveals her death goes a lot deeper than just a murder but it’s involving drugs, a sheik’s nephew, political corruption and even human trafficking.

With Vinny taking lead on the case Raja infiltrates the hotel as a blackjack dealer hoping to gain a little more info about the blackmail and what’s really going on in the hotel. Things aren’t all work while in Las Vegas when Raja finds himself falling for a beautiful dancer who happens to work in the same hotel he’s undercover in. As Vinny works with the local cops she finds herself working hard to give physical proof to the cops what’s really going on since it’s all on her computer system. It’s when following the drugs that she finally gets the chance that she needed but ends up almost falling to her death. Raja also set’s up his own sting in the hotel but things turn horribly wrong revealing his true identity. Will the duo be able to clear Kristen’s name and bring the bad guys to justice?

I love Raja and Vinny they are by far my favorite detective duo. While Raja happens to be the main character it’s Vinny who’s evolved into more than just the computer girl as she takes lead with the detective at the police department. It was interesting seeing Raja’s roll as an undercover blackjack dealer he made the transition go smoothly. I love that both characters have progressed each getting better as the series goes.

I’ve been eagerly looking forward to diving into the newest Raja Williams novel since it’s the only detective series that I’ve been reading as it’s the best. Raja and Vinny while private investigators aren’t your typical duo they both bring unique gifts to the partnership and work well together. I can’t deny that I would love to see the duo in a romantic relationship but not if it would ruin the great work that they do. In this installment our duo has traveled off to Las Vegas catching the attention of a deep dark cover up in the Las Vegas underworld. Another fast paced installment that I had a hard time putting down, because I just had to know how it was going to play out. I really enjoy the way that Raja and Vinny work they are passionate about what they do risking their own lives just to get to the truth. This book has loads of action, suspense and enough mystery that I wasn’t sure how it was going to play out to the very end but it’s beautifully executed. Another brilliantly written installment in the Raja Williams series. I highly recommend that you check it out because the author is an amazing storyteller. I can’t wait to read the next one.

"A Real Riveting Page Turner"

This is the 5th book in the Raja Williams Mystery Series, and I've read all of them. They are easy and fast to read, well written, with a little humor thrown in. In this intriguing story, Raja Williams, a millionaire private investigator, is asked to look into the death of a 19-year old college girl, Kristin Campbell, while on school break in Las Vegas. He's assured her father he'll look into her death which looks like a possible suicide as she fell from the 13th floor of the Bellagio Hotel/Casino. Though the news reports try to make the death caused by drug abuse, Raja and his beautiful, computer savvy partner, Vinny Moore, go deep into the underground to prove that Kristin has been murdered and, of course, wherever Raja goes, there is always more crimes of scandals, greed, and corruption. Each novel in this series is a stand-alone compelling mystery. The stories are entertaining and captivating. You'll not want to put this engaging novel down! Highly recommend.

Review: MUERTE EN LAS VEGAS by Jack Thompson

Generally, I don't have an interest in reading about glitz or gambling. But I do enjoy the Raja Williams mystery series. To my surprise, I was fully captivated from the prologue, some time before the appearance of extraordinarily talented investigator Raja and his hacker sidekick Vinnie. The victim is such an appealing individual, and immediately elicited my empathy. I even liked her parents. The villainous, of which there are multiple, had me spitting nails as they demonstrated the worst failings of human [or should that be "inhuman"] nature. As is often the case, a very few "good" people face several bad, and a vast number of indifferent and apathetic.

Author Jack Thompson maintains the Intrigue level at high throughout, leaving readers emotionally wrung, but satisfied with a champion read.

Great book!

I could never give Raja's books anything less than five stars! It would be sacrilegious!! Lol! I've read five, of Jack Thompson's books, about Raja. I can't say enough positive things things, about these books. I was hooked, with the very first one. Not can I choose one I like better, than another. They are all excellent. You would think after eleven books, the books would seem similar. Not so. Each one is as individual as you and I. I appreciate Jack, for keeping the details, of the murders, clean of blood and gore. I have an imagination for that, if I so choose. I could go on and on, all positive things, about Jack's books. I highly recommend Raja Williams books. I would also like to thank Jack, for having his books, in Kindle Unlimited. I read probably two books a day. Without KU I would be unable to read more than the free ones. Thank you!

Well, in this story Raja Williams comes as close to the pearly gates as he can get without actually passing through them. This standalone book is one of a series by Jack Thompson and they just get better.
When a shy young student takes a dive from high up in a Las Vegas hotel her prominent lawyer father wants answers, he approaches Raja Williams, a wealth, impulsive but very successful PI to find them.
When someone sets in motion plans to blacken the girls character Raja knows that the problem is going to be a big one.
With the assistance Vinny, his gorgeous, geeky but brilliant partner who is never happier than when she is hacking computer systems, the harder the better, legal or illegal, Raja sets about finding answers.
This story unfolds to encompass murder, police corruption, human trafficking, drugs, misuse of diplomatic immunity and a love story, it is action packed, has a body count that escalates, nail biting suspense and red herrings by the bucketful....A great read.

Raja Williams - he's interesting, but his friend Vinny is the real star of the show. His supporting cast also lead to a nice reading experience, and the stories are complex and rich. I'm collecting more by this author, because there are times when Raja just fits the mood and it's a truly satisfying read - similar to a good cup of tea on a dreary morning.

A 19 year old college girl falls from a balcony at the top suites of the hotel. The parents find out from a newspaper of her death. Autopsies showed what happened. They use a smear campaign to protect the sheik, the blackmail and drugs that were involved at the party and in this town. Raja and .Vinny finding out the inconsistency in the reports, and bring the corruption out in the open and clearing a young girl’s name. Good flowing plot, you know what is going on.
