It was a good quick read type of a book made of 2 page short stories or reflections on life. Filled with fun but yet powerful messages that are easy to interpret and apply to every day life. One of my favorite stories involving trees and nature ends with, "Be flexible...bend and sway with the wind. Grow deep and you will stand tall."
This is a God given-book to read and read again. There is such a pull to know God. This spiritual quest was always finding me. For while, I thought I was the one doing the searching. What can I say, we are all on the journey of life for a lifetime.
Somewhat monotonous, "smell the daisies" type of advice, not really dealing with the evil, violence and contamination of the world by humans. Might be comforting.
A lot of random thoughts pieced together from the author's journal, all of his thoughts are preceded by some quote at the beginning of each chapter. His thoughts are noble as he attempts to lead me down some New Age spiritual path, his purpose is to nudge me closer to some kind of spiritual enlightenment. Still a bit too hippy-dippy, wax on-wax off kind of thing, still there are some profound truths in his writing. Turn what we call an ordinary life into a miracle, appreciate the gifts life brings to you every moment. Although, overall you will lose me every time you start quoting Rumi.
So far, I've only read the first two mini-chapters, and yet I think this is going to be a really good process. It's interesting to read, and it works well as a guide for journaling, so on the merits of the book itself, as well as the element of being able to be used for journaling and self-awareness, self-exploration, I think it will be a good book to read and process through over the span of several weeks.
I'm using this book as a sort of old-fashioned devotional, reading one of the 101 short pieces each night before flipping off the light. A nice way to clear the mind of the daily crap and get to a better spot before sleep...
