Love conquers injustice.

Midnight Rodeo, #6

Tiger shifter Dmitri loves his new home at Darque and Knight Rodeo, and he adores all of his new friends. His past as a circus animal remains strong in his memory, though, particularly when he sees inequality, like the hot little fox shifter who isn’t allowed on rodeo grounds unless he’s working.

When fox Isaac meets the handsome, burly tiger, the attraction is instant. He’d love to spend more time in Dmitri’s den, but as a contracted performer his access to the rodeo is limited. It doesn’t help that his greedy goblin boss refuses to loosen his grip.

Can Dmitri and Isaac find a way to be together, and to make a change for the better of everyone at D&K?

Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy's Girl, BA Tortuga spends her days with her hounds and her beloved wife, texting her grandbabies, and eating Mexican food. When she's not doing that, she's writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting, and surfing Pinterest in the name of research. Following their own personal joys, BA and Julia heard the call of the high desert and they now live in the New Mexico mountains. BA's personal saviors include her wife, her best friends, and coffee. Lots of coffee. Really good coffee.

Having written everything from fist-fighting rednecks to cowboy daddies to werewolves, BA does her damnedest to tell the stories of her heart, which is committed to giving everyone their happily ever after. With books ranging from hard-hitting BDSM, to fiery passions, to the most traditional of love stories, BA refuses to be pigeon-holed by anyone but the voices in her head.

‘Tails and Whiskers’ is the sixth story of the ‘Midnight Rodeo’ series, set in the world of Darque and Knight, otherwise known as the supernatural rodeo. Werewolves, cat shifters, vampires, ghost riders – to name but a few – are all hidden by special magick so the humans don’t notice something otherworldly is going on. I was very excited to learn more about Siberian tiger shifter Dmitri. He has a dark past, but is clearly feeling better the longer he stays with Darque and Knight. When a chance encounter near the lake lets him meet some of the trick riders, all fox shifters, he is particularly drawn to the youngest, Isaac. Their romance is hot and heavy, but not without issues – thanks to evil goblins. Nobody inside the rodeo is aware of their machinations and terror regime until Dmitri finds out what has been going on right under the rodeo members’ noses.

Dmitri is a big, powerful Siberian tiger shifter, and usually quiet. Meeting Isaac, a quirky little fox shifter, is very exciting, and finding out they are mates is surprising but thrilling. Dmitri hates injustice, so when he discovers the way Isaac, his brothers, and the other entertainers are mistreated, he gets upset. They should all be treated equally - after all, the entertainers are part of the rodeo. Dmitri knows Isaac is his mate and they want to be together, but the restrictions placed on the entertainers are in the way. Once Dmitri finds out who is behind it, he is ready to fight, but nobody else will believe him until it is almost too late.

Isaac is one of the Flying Foxes and loves performing at the rodeo. But he and the others in his group are segregated, not allowed inside the rodeo unless they are working, and subjected to very unjust treatment by their “master” who is a cruel goblin intent on exploiting them. Isaac knows he is powerless, but he wants to be with his mate. Isaac will do anything to keep Dmitri safe, and doesn’t even stop trying to get into the rodeo after he is heavily beaten and almost dies. But things get far worse for Isaac once the goblin finds out the rodeo workers are trying to get the contract changed…

If you like stories about mates who are very different yet clearly belong together, if two men having to fight evil powers before they can be together are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is suspenseful, has one character in mortal danger, yet is hot and sweet at the same time, then you will probably like this novella as much as I do. It’s a wonderful example of what a coincidental meeting can lead to and how an unlikely couple can make a life together.

Great read

Dmitri was a sweet tiger, and I'm so glad that he found someone just as sweet as Isaac. That goblin contractor got exactly as he deserved. This series is so good; I can't wait for the next book.

While a shifter fantasy is hardly the kind of book I gravitate toward, I have to admit that this was a quality, fun and fast read.

A Tiger's shifter, Dimitri, finds his mate in a fox shifter, Isaac. They both work at the rodeo, where the tiger Shifters are revered and respected and the fox Shifters are outcasts who are neglected and mistreated. The rodeo security is made up of goblin henchman who are ruled by the evil, ugly and repulsive goblin king. The goblins don't take too kindly to the pairing of the tiger and fox, as the Tiger's interest in the fox has already led to the fox's elevation of status. The goblins are nothing but bullies, resorting to violence to intimidate the diminutive fox, Isaac, into severing ties with his mate. Beaten and broken, the fox accepts his cruel fate in order to prevent the occurrence of further violence. He lacks his wound and mourns the loss of his one true love.
Dimitri, however, won't let go of Isaac without a fight. He's a tiger after all. The goblins just may have met their match.

Recommended for any fans of M/M Romance who are turned on by the idea of a sexy shifter read that features Interspecies coupling. I know you're out there...

Dmitri has settled in with the food court kitties, very happy with his Alpha, Brax. He enjoys a friendship with wolf Alpha, Denver and his mate, Blaine. The only thing that would make the tiger shifter happier is finding his mate, a fox shifting acrobat named Isaac.
But even in the world of the Darque and Knight rodeo, there's prejudice and inequality. This story addresses these issues. And solves them the way only a paranormal could. This is a mostly light, sweet story. There's a little bit of danger. But a strong storyline and good dialog give us our HEA.

Fun read

I like shifters and cowboys so this is the perfect series for me. The stories center around the paranormal rodeo owned by Philip and Cody and some main characters make regular appearances otherwise new characters in each book. I’m enjoying it and this is a nice addition.

A Flying Fox and a Siberian Tiger. Both shifters. Both working for the same rodeo circuit. Both looking for that someone to understand them and maybe even love them forever. The coming together will test the bonds of who they are and what they wish to become. There was more at stake than just their hearts and souls. Their very existence comes in to this battle.

Issac was the fox shifter with little to nothing for himself. He was little more than a slave to the greedy goblin that held his contract. I found him to be sweet, a little odd, and very much worth more than he was being given. Dmitri was the tiger shifter that had a heart to match his strength. Injustice was not something he would abide by. He knew what was right and was willing to fight to the end to make it right.

I got a bit more suspense and intrigue with this installment of the Midnight Rodeo series. This was an interspecies mix that could change things for more than just the two involved. This was a novella that put spicy and sweet together and made the serving very delicious to consume.

I can never get enough of shifters story and this one really excite me because a flying fox and a Siberian tiger is a love match. The back story of segregated and abuse made this one powerful read. I found the book very suspenseful and intriguing.
