Apparently when he released this story in a "woman's" magazine in the 1950s (over 60 years ago), he did so under a pseudonym as he was concerned for his reputation. I don't think he needed to worry as he is considered as one of the greatest SF writers of all time, certainly in my top 5.
This story is relatively simple and in some ways a little juvenile, but it is still told with panache and a knowledge of what people want to read (listen to).

He is an excellent storyteller and whilst this is maybe for a younger audience and it is a little dated it is still a well told and detailed story. I reckon I can see myself doing an A C Clarke challenge next year !!

A fascinating and whimsical story about an lunar astronomer's family joining him on the moon while he observes a nearby solar Nova... and about the memories his daughter makes while there.

In a time, when galaxies were still referred to as universes, comes a short tale meant to get young women interested in science, or at least science fiction. It is almost pandering in it's writing style, but targeted to young women in the 50's and written for the equivalent of Teen Vogue with a bent towards careers for women, it can't be helped. Interesting note: the magazine folded 5 years after this publication.
