After licking her physical and emotional wounds for several months, Charity Styles finally has a shot at redemption when her handler offers her a mission. It's dangerous, sure, but Charity also knows that it's meant as a test of her self-control. In the jungles of Venezuela, a land baron controls the native population with an iron fist ... and a security team with over-indulged libidos and quick trigger fingers. The indigenous people live in fear—all but one old shaman, who has a vision of the future. A vision that includes piranha and crocodiles. Charity’s target is a single man. But when she learns of the atrocities committed by the land baron, and the carnage inflicted on the defenseless Wanadi people by his security team, will she stop at that? Can she keep her blood-lust in check this time?
I'm a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and now, a full time novelist. Between those careers, I've also worked as a deckhand, commercial fisherman, divemaster, taxi driver, construction manager, and truck driver. I live in the Sea Islands, near Beaufort, SC, with my wife and youngest daughter. We also have three grown children, five grand children, three dogs and a whole flock of parakeets. I grew up in Melbourne, FL and have also lived in the Florida Keys and Cozumel, MX.
Another ten star story for this retired FL resident. This is my second reading. I purchased this several months ago. One of the few advantages of being and older person with advancing memory loss is rereading Wayne’s books the second time and enjoying them even more.
It appears that Wayne May be spending too much time on that new big beautiful yacht? Bought with my hard earned SS money. A catch 22.... If he was not so successful ($$$)... He would need to write more books (faster). And hence, I would not have to wait as long for another story. Aw... Life is a beach and then you die.
Wayne, Please get back to work and MAGA for us loyal readers.
I have totally enjoyed Wayne and his series Jesse McDermitt and wanted to enjoy this one just as much as I think the concept is great. Unfortunately, this series tends to be more developed about females and rape. I get the concept of how Charity became who she is, but the first novel was more graphic then I want. The second again deals with a situation that is great for a book, but a female in the book again had to be raped. So the challenge he says he had when writing about a female lead seems to covered by let's make sure someone is sexually assaulted so the lead will be able to kill and exact a revenge.
I read a lot of mystery and not every female lead needs to have been raped or need another character to be raped. So I will not be reading the rest of this series as I want a mystery not to read about a sexual assault. I want to also add that when not kicking butt, Charity seems to be wanting to hook up a new person in every book. Again, Jesse got together with a few women in his books but the graphic detail was not there, and not in every book.
Sorry to be a downer but for me, who usually overlooks some issues in books, this is one I could not get away from.

I have not yet read a Wayne Stinnett book that I did not like. My biggest problem is that I stay up to late at night reading. I enjoy reading about Charity Styles and have read 2 books about her. I also enjoy reading books about Jessie Mc Dermott who lives in the Florida Keys on his own island. I have read all 9 of his books. There are many people entwined with each other and the characters cross over into each others books which immediately lets you identify characters of whom you are familiar.
I congratulate Stinnett on a very clever way to continue using these people over and over!
The author mixed so many different story lines to to complete this story. There is the back story of Charity, the story of Rene, the native people of the Caribbean with their customs and beliefs, then there is the real evil injected into the story "the Nazi group that fled there during the end of World War II and how they over time changed life in their new world". All this combined into a thrilling reading where Charity''s skills will be put to several tests.
'Ruthless Charity' was another example of Charity's skills and ruthlessness. This book was well written and well thought out. A lot of action, thrilling scenarios, colorful characters and kick-ass moments. Charity has been a favorite of mine since I first met her in the 'Jesse McDermitt Series'. I like how Wayne Stinnett crosses the characters and situations from each book. A great add to your tbr list.
Charity's character is still evolving and the first part of the book helps with that, helping us to understand what drives her. Great story, characters and action. Wayne's descriptions had me feeling like I was there, and I wanted to be there helping Charity. Did not want to put this book down. Can't wait for more of Charity.
Action and adventure and danger are all in a day's work for Charity Stiles. If you've ever wanted to see the bad guys go down, you'll find these thrillers very satisfying. I loved the Jesse McDermott series...this is a spin off.Well done! Charity definitely kicks a$$!
Great easy read. Lots of action, interesting twists and turns, and we'll developed character. Wasn't sure where Stinnrtt was going when he introduced Charity as a main player in the Revenge series, but he has a good thing going here. Recommended and now I have to go find #3
Free to complete her assigned chores as efficiently as possible. She quite often does, but not always. When something arises that needs attention she sees to it as she continues on her assignment. A good story and interesting characters will hold your interest as you read.
Great action. Very good characters and easily a few threads to future stories. The series continues to develop Charity' s bio and keep a open door to Jess McDermott. The CIA fugitive will certainly resurface in a future episode. Well written and a very easy read.
Hiding in plain sight is an artful thing to learn. Charity did it very well but she learned that cold blooded creatures don’t show up on her optic scope. Trapping through the jungle could get you killed. Charity controlled herself his time as Stockwell’s voice played in her head. No blood lust . I wonder if she will meet Rene again? Excellent.
Ruthless Charity is another excellent adventure written by Wayne Stinnett. As with his other novels in this series, once you start reading them it is hard to put them down.
This whole series has been really good! The action is good. The characters are well thought out and have human strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a fast paced action adventure.
This one is a good one! Charity was paying attention when she trained with Jesse! One against twenty? No problem! A father gets his revenge and a few bad guys get their just ending. What about Rene/Victor? Will we see him again?
My first book from this author and I have to say that I was captured from page one. I was rooting for Charity even though she's an assassin. I see myself reading more of her story and hoping that she can find some peace.
Next installment of the Charity Styles mission we learn more about Charity see her help flying skills and spying skills. She mentions Jesse McDermott several time to keep the connection going. Good entertaining read looking forward to the next.
Great story that kept me reading in anticipation. The heroine was very believable in spite of her task. A modern woman with confidence and the skills to deliver. I’m on to the next book now! Thanks Wayne Stinnett!
Very creative and wonderfully done! Characters very satisfying. Love the link to the original series, and looking forward to reading the next on its own merit.
