This is a really cool and unique Sudoku puzzle book! I love doing puzzles anyhow, it is actually one of my favorite relaxing hobbies, and this combination of spiritual inspirations with the puzzles is right up my alley! I love the positive, mindful messages it contains alongside the brain-training logic puzzles! I feel like it gives both the right and left sides of the brain a good workout, which is hard to find in one book! Definitely worth the buy if you are into puzzles and also looking for something to cultivate inner peace and tranquility! I hope they put out more puzzle books in this series!

“The Tao of Sudoku” by Cristina Smith is a wonderful book with many life lessons spread throughout the book listed under the Sudoku puzzles, along with quotes and fascinating facts and “how-to’s” spread periodically throughout the novel. The author’s main point is to present challenging puzzles by having to use your mind, games that sharpen the mind as well as the brain as Sudoku is yoga for the brain. I think the author was successful in carrying out the purpose of the publication. It is a well-rounded book that includes 100 challenging puzzles, while helping your health, and having fun at the same time.

The writing in the book that I did observe whilst doing the first few puzzles was very energetic and I read the excerpts whilst doing most of the puzzles and enjoyed the puzzles and writing for the most part. “The Tao of Sudoku” was definitely an enjoyable book as well as playful in the sense the puzzles played a part in my enjoyment, and this has been my first actual puzzle book with commentary as well. If you do decide to buy this book or even borrow it from someone else, there is a helpful guide in the back where the answers are located if you get stumped, like me.

The book is generally for anyone who enjoys puzzles and challenges for ages 14 and up. My recommendation would be to provide more explanation in the beginning. As well, the material of the book is already ripping apart and that cannot be good for publication. My favorite part in the book is when Cristina elaborated with puzzle pointers on page 92. I also liked the various images and quotes scattered throughout.

I enjoyed this puzzling adventure. I cannot wait to finish the puzzles and possibly get more of Smith’s books, along with other Sudoku books. “The Tao of Sudoku” by Cristina Smith definitely created a love in my body for Sudoku and the mind.

It's amazing how sometimes the most unexpected things can trigger the deepest insights. The Tao of Sudoku- Yoga for the Brain, both a profound philosophy and fun puzzle book, is the result of my journey from Sudoku avoider to Sudoku master.

A heart centered author, speaker, and founder of the Subtle Energy Center, I believe, as Ram Dass says, "Everything in your life is there as a vehicle for your transformation. Use it!". I never suspected Sudoku would be one of those vehicles. Or that it would be fun. Or that my brother and I would collaborate on a puzzle book. Or that our book would win literary awards.

Even better, people around the world are writing with stories of how The Tao of Sudoku- Yoga for the Brain has positively impacted their lives. From the math phobic to those seeking personal mastery, to yoga lovers to master Sudoku puzzlers, The Tao of Sudoku invites you to Play!

Have you been looking for a tool for brain exercise? Have you been searching for a vehicle to help with spiritual development, such as something to aid in your power of concentration? "The Tao of Sudoku--Yoga for the Brain" is a valuable book that can assist you in these quests while entertaining you. As the title suggests, the Sudoku puzzles will "stretch" your brain, leading to the establishment of new firing synapses and the facilitation of neuroplasticity so important to the health of the brain and mind.

I was new to Sudoku when introduced to Cristina and Rick Smith's book, but they do a great job of breaking the reader in gently, gradually increasing the difficulty of the puzzles and offering hints that keep the player from becoming discouraged.

Another excellent feature is the insertion sayings and observations at the base of each puzzle that are pearls of wisdom from such luminaries as Lao Tzu, Joseph Campbell, Ram Dass and Krishnamurti. Cleverly and wisely placed, they help the player in multiple ways as they make their way through the maze, a parallel to the journey through life.

So, do yourself a favor and check out "The Tao of Sudoku--Yoga for the Brain." Your brain will thank you and pay you back for the effort.
