Experience a different perspective about the Easter Bunny with this Picture Book written by Steven Kroll and illustrated by Janet Stevens. This book is illustrated with what appears to be colored pencils. The illustrations in this book use a mix of one and double-page spreads, meaning that some illustrations cover both pages, and some are contained to one page. The plot of this book is the Easter Bunny, named Wilbur, gets sick the night before Easter and the other bunnies work to save Easter. The conflict of this book is that the other bunnies cannot complete the task and so Easter morning will be ruined. The other bunnies must get Wilbur to distribute the eggs in time for Easter morning. Read this children’s folklore book to see if The Easter Bunny can save Easter!

I really hope Lucy never asks me to read this book again. What happens when the Easter bunny gets sick the night before Easter? He does a poor job of delivering Easter baskets. There, I saved you from reading it yourself.

The Big Bunny and the Easter Eggs by Steven Kroll, illustrated by Janet Stevens, is an Easter story that leans into folklore themes to create an imaginative story about community and celebration. The author makes the setting in the world of Easter, where the story follows a sick bunny named Wilbur and his friends who try to deliver Easter eggs for him. The arrangement of the story is formal, considering the words are either on the top or bottom of the illustrations, creating a clear and easy-to-follow reading experience. The illustrator also uses somewhat bright and engaging illustrations. Her art captures the village animals working together to help the big bunny feel better, as shown on page fifteen. On page twenty, you can see the illustrator used lines to help portray the sickness in the bunnies face. He looks very down and drowsy and you can tell he doesn’t feel good. Overall, this is a good book I’d read to my children around Easter time.

Anyone who is a Mom can identify with the sick I want to stay in bed and never move Easter bunny. I certainly do! Luckily, like me, Wilbur has friends to help him out. It all goes quite wrong in a charming, fun way that will have little ones giggling. The illustrations are charming and humorous.
I enjoyed The Big Bunny and the Easter Eggs so much I clicked right over to a few online stores to order a few copies. Sadly, this charmer must be out of print as there are only used ones, exorbitantly, prohibitively priced new and collector ones.

This is a very strange story about the Easter bunny getting sick, but going out to deliver the eggs anyway, with the help of some friends. The narrative is a bit long for very young children, but older children will appreciate that he almost gets caught over and over.
Good, not great, and pretty forgettable.

What an Easter delight! This children's book has the perfect illustrations, and the story is simply wonderful - it even had me on the edge of my seat, wondering if all the children would get their Easter baskets. Beautifully done on all accounts!

Yes because we want to push our sick friend out of bed so he can deliver baskets...

Faith Friends 2016 - This is a cute book in and of itself but it will make a great book to discuss friendship and selflessness.
