So right off the bat, I’m going to say that I didn’t care for the ending at all. This was such a nasty, manipulative story that I wanted to see some semblance of justice and it never happened. But that’s just my preference. There was plenty of body horror going on here, which is something we all know Jon Athan cherishes, so no big surprise there. But there was also a somewhat decent mystery going on here, too. You could basically figure out where it was headed, but it kept my attention despite some of the obvious hints being dropped. I can’t comment on any of the characters because I disliked them all. Not a redeemable one in the bunch. The plot was very comparable to the movie Prisoners, and had a fair amount of similarities, too. So if you want an idea of what to expect, I’d say watch the film before going for this book. It was overall pretty good, but had a lot of room where it could have deepened its characters instead on focusing on things like genital mutilation. Which there were two seperate scenes. Just sayin.’

I'm just not the right audience for this - I know people that I think would love it - but the graphic torture scenes were a little too much for me.

Omg the way my jaw just dropped from the ending! I did not see that coming at all, but it was perfect, maybe one of the best ending I’ve ever read.
The story kind of reminded me of The Groomer by him since kidnapping was the main thing in it.
I loved Bruce and Robin characters, the story was great I felt so sorry for Bruce the whole time.
Bruce was kidnapped by a father who’s little girl was abducted and he’s suspecting the man that’s why he tortures Bruce in the inhuman interrogation who has no idea what he has to do about the girl disappearance.
Amazing writing interesting storyline and a shocking ending, I highly recommend this book!

One of the best psychological horror I ever read. Full pack of tension and of course gore violence I bet if you are reading a gore, disturbing horror this one just only for you. Nothing can match the intensified situation which been created in this one of a kind sick story...

Bruce didn't know what has he done about the disappearance of that young girl named Catherine. Even he been captured from that night club by the girl named Sylvia who happened to be the sister of Catherine. So while he captured and get hostages in Catherine's father Frank's house with investigation going on with two more investigator Wayne and Nathan it's all Bruce can do to tolerate the inhuman interrogation of that sick bastard (Frank). There's no clear evidence against Bruce if he was responsible for disappearing of her daughter's case. They found something here and there, out of pieces evidence but nothing more...

The graphic violence of this story was to much to accept if you know what I mean. There's some point where I thought it's enough but the character didn't think so and he kept going until he got nothing in his normal human mind to focuse to his humanity side. As if there's nothing stop of it. Meanwhile Bruce has to endure the kind of torture that no one in his normal sense could ever think of. So where's Catherine? Who kidnapped her? Or she already murdered? No answer, no clear or absolute answer for this question...

The ending was I like very much. Though it surprised me too while knowing the fate of Catherine. While Robin the girl who was the girlfriend of Bruce's, she finally make appearance into the action and the twist become go more mischievous and eventful. No more revealing from me about this tale, go and get it to quench your thirst...

Total 5 out of 5...

Ok

This book was OK but I couldn't get into it like I did the others. It took me a few weeks to finally finish the book.

I didn't think was a page turner like other books I've read by Jon Nathan, but I did enjoy it. I felt it was a little slow at parts. Still a good read

You can tell this is one of Jon Athans older books, but it's still a good read and for me (even though the author himself said a lot of people didn't like how it ended) that ending was everything.

not the best

This book started out real slow. I could never really get into it. The ending happened way too fast and the book was over. Not the best book honestly.

Bloody and violent

Another exceeded from jon . I love his stories. This one included are not for the faint hearted as they describe all the horrors in such great detail you feel like your actually there and part of it watching all the gruesome antics. This storyline had me in parts torn but you know there will be a twist. Which is why I love this author. His detail and story telling is amazing and really grand you and pulls you into the story. If you haven't read this yet definitely give it a go you won't be disappointed.
