After her grandfather’s death, Paige Edwards goes to Hawaii to have his ashes interred at the USS Arizona since he had been one of the few remaining survivors of the ship sunk in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Before he died, her grandfather had arranged the trip for her with luxury accommodations at a beautiful hotel/resort for the week preceding the ceremony. Paige is also pregnant and alone since her boyfriend dumped her for her sister, so she could really use this week on her own on the beautiful island of Oahu to try and think things through.

Mano Bishop is the owner of the resort, the Mau Loa. He has been blind since a car accident when he was seventeen, which also killed his parents. Mano has a run-in, literally, with his newest guest, Paige, when he goes to pay her a courtesy call. Although he can’t see her, he can just sense that there is something special about Paige that draws him to her, so he sets out to spend the week with her to get to know her better. The attraction turns out to be mutual, but it seems there may be too many obstacles keeping them apart.

This was such a lovely and beautiful romance. Paige and Mano made such a sweet and endearing couple and I really liked them both a lot. Paige always felt like a Plain-Jane and she has low self-esteem and feels that she’s invisible to people, but Mano really helped build up her confidence, and helped her to see what a beautiful person she really is. Mano didn’t do relationships because he didn’t want to be a burden to anyone because of his blindness, but with Paige, for the first time he hopes things might be different because he can’t imagine letting her go.

I thought the setting on the island of Oahu was just perfect for this beautiful romance. Loved the romantic walks on the beach at Waikiki. I was really glad that the USS Arizona Memorial was included in the story since it is such a fascinating part of history. I also loved Mano’s adorable service dog and constant companion, Hoku. This was a charming romance, and I’m really looking forward to the next book in the Hawaiian Nights series.

This Steamy Romance, and this is the first book in the Hawaiian Nights series. I really love the characters in this book. I hate how Paige talks down about herself, but I loved how Mano handles it. The romance in this book is super fast moving, but it worked in this book. I loved that one of the main characters is blind because I do not think that there are enough books that have blind characters. I really think this book handles the blind character very well. I really loved the ending of this book.

Paige Edwards travels to Hawaii on a trip funded by her recently deceased grandfather, so that she can leave his ashes there. She accidentally bumps into Mano Bishop, the owner of the hotel she's staying at. He's blind, which is perfect for Paige, because she believes she's really ugly and nobody likes her or wants to be around her. Mano is captivated by her scents, and proposes they spend one week together. Of course, they're soon wanting more - but how can they get past the fact that Paige is pregnant to the ex-partner who dumped her for her sister?

After a chapter in Paige's company, you'll understand why nobody really wants to hang around with her that much. Imagine being around a person on a constant pity party, going, "Boo hoo hoo, I'm so ugly. Boo hoo hoo, nobody pays attention to me. Boo hoo hoo, it's like I'm invisible." I mean, like, constantly. There's lack of self-esteem, and then there's Paige. She takes it to another level entirely. Paige, honey, it's not because you're ugly. It's because you're a complete and utter, total downer. Nobody wants to be around that sort of unrelenting negativity.

I don't know what captivated Mano so much! Must have been the hot sex, because they don't really do much else! Other than the expected Hawaii travelogue, that is.

The plot was thin and a bit meh. The romance is low on angst. All the angst comes from Paige, who just can't get over how plain, dull and unattractive she is. It got old. This romance would have been far more interesting if blind Mano had been matched with a woman confident in her looks and sex appeal and learning there's more to a relationship than that. Here, I didn't really like the message that you can be saved from your horrible, miserable existence as a relentlessly downbeat ugly person if you're lucky enough to shack up with a hot blind guy.

I propose you skip this one!

Terrific book. Paige has had a rough few weeks. Her boyfriend dumped her for her prettier sister. Then Paige found out she was pregnant with his baby. To make matters worse, her beloved grandfather died. In his will, her grandfather specified that Paige was the one he designated to take his ashes to Hawaii, to be interred with his shipmates on the Arizona. He even made the arrangements for the trip - first-class flight and luxury accommodations at a Waikiki resort. Paige was stunned to find herself in the penthouse suite at the Mau Loa hotel. It is far more than she expected, but so like her grandfather to spoil her that way. On her first night there, she runs into the hotel's owner, Mano Bishop, an incredibly handsome and sexy man who is also blind.

Mano has been blind since an accident when he was a teenager. Despite the challenges, he has become very successful. He rarely leaves the resort property, preferring to remain where he is comfortable and confident in his surroundings. He doesn't do relationships but indulges in flings with hotel guests once or twice a year.

I loved the first meeting between Paige and Mano. She's flustered and embarrassed about her clumsiness and floored by her immediate attraction to him. Mano is intrigued by the woman who isn't like any other woman he's met. Because he can't see, Mano depends on his other senses to learn about the people and things around him. It was fascinating to see the things that made an impression on him. Mano is determined to get to know Paige better and immediately makes arrangements to see her again.

I loved watching the relationship between Paige and Mano develop. Because of her work at a VA hospital, Mano's blindness does not fill her with pity or the need to baby him. She tends to lean the other way, and I enjoyed watching her push him outside his comfort zone. There were so many sweet scenes of their dates where Mano introduces Paige to the beauties and fun of the island. Both agreed at the start that it would only be a one-week fling, with neither expecting their emotions to become involved.

Mano has never forgotten that his high school girlfriend broke things off because she thought he'd be a burden. That feeling has stayed with him, making him determined to avoid any kind of permanent relationship. But Paige works her way past his walls, and he wants longer than a week with her. He doesn't recognize his feelings as love, and can't give her the commitment she needs.

Paige has two issues to overcome. The first is her pregnancy. She can't believe that Mano would be willing to raise another man's child. Paige also has some serious self-esteem issues. She considers herself to be very plain and that Mano wouldn't look twice at her if he could see. I especially loved how Mano saw Paige's inner beauty and worked to convince her of that beauty. I liked how she gained a bit of confidence, thanks to him, and the way it came out during that fantastic pool scene!

I ached for them both when the end of the week came, and neither could admit their feelings or get past their fears. Their parting did not go well, and some hurtful words were exchanged. It was fun to see Mano's grandmother call him out on his moping and give him the kick in the pants he needed. The ending was awesome. Mano's big moment was sweet and romantic, and I loved the reactions all around!

One of my favorite things about the book was the setting. I was born in Honolulu, though we left when I was only a year old. I returned with my husband when he was stationed there, and we lived there for four years. So many things in this book brought back wonderful memories of our time there, from luaus to the hotels on Waikiki to the beautiful beaches of the North Shore. Paige even had my favorite flavor of shave ice - Tiger's Blood!

First time reading this author...

A really good read..Set in beautiful Hawaii.

Paige goes there per her passing Papa's will. he is to be buried at sea where he fought..She is a RN that works with Vets. She also undervalue's herself..Puts herself down..than she meets the owner of the hotel she is staying at Mano..He is all man and blind...She feels safe with him as he can't really see her..but he can..just in his way! A beautifully written story that had me sighing alot...

Oh, she works with vets? That must be sad, and rewarding at the same time.

That's a good name for a guide dog.

It's amazing how we can take our senses for granted.

A real woman wouldn't see his being blind as a problem.

Your sister should never steal your man. I wouldn't talk to her either, if I was her.

I guess your sense of smell is heightened when you can't see. But dude, don't tell her you could smell her!

I have the same aversion to doctors. It comes from seeing too many of them, one after another.

I want that dessert. Now.

Jenna wasn't worthy, but if you keep feeling sorry for yourself, people won't want to be around you anymore.

Dude. That's depressing. Even I make an effort to go to the city at least once a month. Get out of the house!

Shaved ice sounds great right about now.

I love dolphins.

I like that there isn't a sense of woe-is-me here. He is disabled, yes, but he's found a way to function that works for him. As for women, who's to say they wouldn't have been just as shallow if the accident never happened?

Whoa! Slow your roll, buddy!

Whoop! You go, girl!

That is one fancy necklace.

Travelling is hard for anyone. Being blind? It's so romantic that he went through that for her!

Swoon.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 rounded down to 4 for continuity issues towards the end and in my opinion some ablest views.

This is my 3rd Hotel/Resort romance in a row lol. All three were pretty good but this one was my favorite.

I really enjoyed both the hero and heroine. They had a week long fling and both fell in love which is expected in these books but I actually felt that they did connect, that they communicated well, and there was, thankfully, no "big misunderstanding". Both have self esteem issues for different reasons so they find it hard to think that this fling could be more.

I was happily surprised by a few tears I even had, which doesn't occur often in books for me.

There were a few issues that I didn't really feel were the characters and more the author. It can seem like the only way the plane Jane can get a hot guy is if he's blind. There were also a few things that the author threw in to make it seem like the hero was more than blind. He runs a multi-million dollar (I'm guessing) resort but can't do other things on his own? I just didn't buy it. Thankfully in the end these are overcome.
There were also 2 or 3 points where the characters said something odd. The hero said something and the phrasing reminded me of my grandma and not a 27 year hotelier. It felt like the author speaking and not the character.
But both of these points are very minimal and didn't pull away from the enjoyment of the story.

Oh!

I loved this book. I liked reading about Paige, not being very beautiful and noticeable, still being very spunky sometimes. That spunkiness was something I noticed later when she had her troubles lying by the pool and then I could relate it to her spunkiness which is required at her job. But I digress, about the book:
After her grandfather passed away Paige gets an all expenses-paid trip to Hawaii for a week in order to give her grandfather his last resting place. She suddenly lands in a very expensive hotel in the most luxurious suite. As she is so flabbergasted at where she is she bumps into the very sexy and blind hotel owner, Mano Bishop. He is very curious who this lady is and why she is on the island. She lands into bed with him and after a really bad breakup with a guy, she thought at first that a hot affair with the hotel magnate would be perfect, except that she is pregnant with her ex’s child.
Mano, though blind since his teenage years, is very successful as a hotel owner ad he has a flair for this business. He has an occasional fling but the week with Paige is a revelation to him. She never assumes a thing, she doesn’t want material things, but she has an inner beauty that almost blinds him. Can a week of explosive love be enough for him and Paige or do they have a future together?

The Pregnancy Proposition by Andrea Laurence

Paige finds out she is pregnant after her boyfriend leaves her for her sister. She no longer wants anything to do with the father. Her grandfather dies and wants his ashes taken to Hawaii to be returned to Pearl Harbor and the submarine that he had been a surviror of. Her grandfather arranges the trip and she goes and meets Mano the owner of the hotel. He is blind and unable to see her. They fall in love and she gets him to take her differnet areas so she can see and describe stuff to him. I really thought this book was well written and that if you like romance you will like.

I really enjoyed the fact that the hero is blind and that Paige gets him to get out of his safe zones. I really enjoyed this book and recommend to anyone who wants to read a good romance.

The Pregnancy Proposition by Andrea Laurence is different and unique yet at the same time sweet, sexy and emotionally moving, that you cannot help falling in love with the characters…rooting for them every step of the way.

The last thing Paige Edwards had in mind when she traveled to Hawaii is having a fling with a sexy hotel owner. After all, she is still recovering from a recent breakup and is also pregnant with her ex’s baby. Yet she cannot deny her attraction to Mano Bishop. One thing leads to another and in the end Mano and Paige must make drastic decisions that would change their lives forever!

Paige Edwards is going to Hawaii to inter her beloved grandfathers ashes there. She accidentally walks into a handsome man and finds our he is blind but runs the resort she is staying in. More than this would be a spoiler as this is a fantastic book about a strong women and a truly amazing man that for once finds himself wanting more than he has ever had. Paige takes him out of his comfort zone and she finds he is all she could want in a man. Great story that has to be read to be appreciated. A keeper.

Interesting story with well written characters that have unique connections. The story line deals with a lonely woman who is full of self doubt and a man that doesn't want to be a burden. There is plenty of sexual attraction as Paige and Mano try to find happiness. Exciting read!

Just love Andrea's books. Her story lines are never the same and always keep you interested enough to read the story in one sitting. The Pregnancy Proposal is no different. Paige and Mano prove that beauty is only skin deep, it is what is on the inside that matters most. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.

I liked the premise of this story and the main characters with their imperfections but while the first half of the book was pretty good, about midway it turned into the characters ruminating about all the problems in the relationship. Paige's grandfather sends her first class to Hawaii to bury his ashes and she is attracted to the hotel owner Mano.

This is another great read by Andrea Laurence! The fact that they are set in the lovely Hawaii is just an added bonus to the whole story. We get to escape to paradise and we also get a lovely romance story along with it. Andrea Laurence has a way to make you feel that you are in Hawaii with these characters that is unmatched. I love that about her books.

In this story we meet Paige and Mano. Paige is a young lady that is used to getting by with the bare minimum and not really treating herself to anything special. When Paige's grandfather dies and leaves her in charge of taking his ashes to Hawaii and carry out his last wishes, she never knew what he had planned for her. Her grandfather was always looking out for her and spoiling her and he did not change even after his death. He has arranged for Paige to be put up in the suite and to be treated like royalty. Paige had no idea he had arranged all of this for her and is so thankful for the vacation and pampering.

When Paige runs into a man at the hotel, she is embarrassed and quickly learns that she should have not been worried about her blushing since Mano is blind. Mano has his seeing eye dog with him and Paige quickly makes friends with him as well as Mano. Mano is one of the owners of the hotel and wants to make sure that he welcomes Paige since she is staying in the suite. Mano and Paige quickly hit it off and Mano knows by her scent that she is someone that he wants to get to know even better. Although Mano makes this connection with Paige, he asks his friend at the hotel what he thinks of her and if she is someone he would pursue. His friend encourages him to go after her and Mano does not waste any time doing just that.

When things between Mano and Paige begin to heat up after a few good dates, Paige knows that she has to tell him what is going on with her and what her future is going to be like. Will it make Mano run from her though? Even if it does, Paige has to tell him because this is not something that is going to go away any time soon.

When Mano finds out Paige's little surprise, he is not phased by it at all, but will a relationship be able to blossom with this little surprise now? Paige and Mano have their ups and downs but eventually they figure everything out. This is one that you will want to read and get lost in a hot Alpha, even though he is blind. I loved that Andrea Laurence gave her character this flaw. It made it so interesting to see how things were different for them and what all they had to go through. I can't wait for more of the Hawaiian Nights in this series!

I seem to have lost this review so I'll try again. I received a preview copy of this from the author.

Mano is an interesting hero. A Hawaiian with a vision impairment, he runs his families hotel on one of the Hawaiian islands.

Paige is visiting the island to participate in a ceremony on the Arizona where her recently deceased grandfather served in WW2. She is also getting over a failed relationship that left her pregnant. This is not usually a trope I like...pregnant to loser ex, but Paige is an interesting character and I was intrigued by Mano so I persevered.

I was glad I did. Both Mano and Paige had lots to learn and they worked really well together, complimenting each other in the way they looked at the world and making each other think deeply about their lives and choices.

This was a sweet romance...in one way. Being a Desire there are naturally some smexy scenes which were nicely done. Overall, a lovely story and I look forward to the next one in the duet with Mano's brother who we meet briefly.

Found my original review so I'll just add it here.

This is the story of Paige, who is recovering from the defection of her ex who chose her prettier sister, leaving her with a pregnancy and a sour taste in her mouth. When her grandfather's legacy requires her to travel to Hawaii to take his ashes to the US Arizona, she has the opportunity for a week of luxury, a space to recover and recoup.

Mano lost his sight as a teenager but manages the family resort effectively in an environment familiar and safe. He doesn't want a relationship, doesn't expect more than an occasional fling with a hotel guest now an then. Until he meets Paige.

For a woman who has a bee in her bonnet about her looks, finding a blind guy wants to have a fling is a mixed blessing. Especially a very good looking guy. With a baby to consider it was only ever going to be a temporary thing.

I really enjoyed the way Paige and Mano interacted. I liked that they both gave each other confidence to do things they wouldn't consider normally. The connection between them was obviously more than physical right from the start.

Overall I really enjoyed the read and thought Mano's disability was treated sensitively and well. The ending was sweet and I look forward to reading the sequel about his brother Kai.

Paige Edwards is pregnant and the father of her baby left her without a word and started dating her much prettier sister. She goes to Hawaii as part of a request in her grandfather's will, so he can be buried with his fellow crew members on the USS Arizona. The estate springs for a lavish suite at a beautiful Oahu Hotel, of which Mano Bishop is the owner. Mano is blind, but manages very well. Sparks fly when he and Paige meet, but both of them are hesitant to have more than an affair. Paige doesn't want to be a burden to Mano, doesn't want to force him to raise another man's baby and frankly, doesn't believe he's capable of love after his accident. Mano is in fact capable of love, but poor at communicating it, but he also doesn't want to be a burden to Paige and doesn't want to get in the way of her life back in California. So stubbornness and a refusal to communicate feelings get in the way of this couple.

I picked this one up because of the Hawaiian setting and the fact that the hero was apparently native Hawaiian. It's so different from the Mediterranean Tycoon deal. I also really liked that Mano was blind and that, despite it, his life was different, but not as different as one might think. I was also equal parts intrigued and wary (as I usually am) at the idea of the heroine meeting the hero already pregnant with someone else's child. I usually end up reading it because I'm so damn curious to see how the author's going to work it out. No problems here. I have no problem believing that Mano would step up and not only overlook the pregnancy, but embrace the child as his own. I guess the reason I couldn't rate this higher was my frustration with the characters and their complete inability to communicate with one another. They keep making decisions and then, before they can tell the other, the decision becomes irrelevant by the actions of the other. It's a lot of miscommunication - no big misunderstanding, but that miscommunication starts to annoy after a while. This is definitely a solid read and worth picking up though.

Really enjoyed this opposites attract story from Andrea Laurence! The characters feel very real, and they're both good hearted people so it's a pleasure to see them grow their relationship.
Reeling from a break-up and news that she's pregnant, a vacation get-away is the last thing that Paige Edwards thinks she wants, but when a luxury vacation falls into her lap, she realizes it's just what she needed! When the hot hotel resort owner wants her in his bed, even better!

Mano Bishop has been blind since he was a teen, and he's learned to live a successful life running his resort. An occasional affair has always been enough for him, but when it's almost time for Paige to go home, he realizes it's not enough with her ... but can he see himself raising another man's baby in order to have a relationship with her?
