When my father tries to marry me off to a man I don’t love, I buy a one-way ticket to Mars. But before I can even get out of orbit, a brutal alien warrior attacks. He says he wants our ship, but from one look in his eyes, I know he wants much more from me.
I’m left with a choice: try to hitchhike to Mars--alone and penniless--through the empty cold of space, or accept this infuriating alien’s protection. And take him home with me.
I’d always wanted a man to stand up to my father, I just never thought it would be him. He’s frustrating, mysterious, and fiercely protective. All of humanity is one big game of chess to him...am I his pawn? Or his queen?
He’ll protect me from everything in the world, but nothing in the universe can protect me from him.
Marauder Aegus is the third book in the Mating Wars series, it features steamy sex, thrilling battles in space and on other planets, and plenty of romance. All books in this rock-hard science fiction series can be read as standalones, there are no cliffhangers, and happily ever afters are guaranteed!
Aya Morningstar lives in Denver, where she toils her days away in a drab office. By night, Aya brings to life sizzling characters who will make you squirm.
She writes with a hot cup of Earl Grey and her loyal werecorgi by her side.
I really didn't connect with the hero or heroine. Their love had no depth. And quite frankly I was soooo tired of hearing about Aegus' HUGE teal dick. I get it... It's big. I liked the fighting and Anya getting her throne back more than anything.
Aya Morningstar has gradually become one of my favorite alien sci-fi romance authors. Her Marauder series is totally AWESOME!!!! She takes you on a journey that leads you from Marauder Cygnus who is the brother to Aegus, and Marauder Fenrir is the assassin sent to kill Aegus. Anya is on the run from her father who is trying to marry her off to a man she doesn’t love. She tries to head to Mars but a huge purple alien attacks and takes her ship. Now she is headed right back to her dad. He wants to talk to her dad, and she wants him to pretend to be her fiancée. Even though Anya thinks that Aegus is infuriating and fiercely protective, she begins to wonder if she is a pawn in his agenda or does he have feelings for her? Marauder Aegus has murder, betrayal, hot and steamy sex, wars to fight and a purple alien who can shift into a purple bear. What more can you want in an AWESOME book? This book is recommended for mature readers 18 years of age or older. A must read and you will not be disappointed.
No Spoilers. ARC free book given in exchange for an honest review.
There are all purple but all different. This one was somehow fun. I didn't laugh as much as the first not because it was less fun but purple guy with that kind of physic and way of thinking was already known to me.
So this one was somehow an ending. I really enjoyed the adventure, the whole series mapout. Even though there is a 4th book but it's different somehow. I don't feel like dragging into an unlimited books since this one was quite a clean cut. And I'm already into my next one. A little less purple.
I had a hard time putting this book down. There is a lot of action and adventure mixed in with bursts of laugh out loud moments and dirty hot alien smut. Yelda...lots of big teal yelda.
I am in love with this series and can't wait to see what is going to happen next. The little tease at the end of this book shows the crazy ride is far from over.
Sci-Fi Delight!!! Title: Marauder Aegus Series: Mating Wars Designation: Book Three, Novella, Standalone, No Cliffhanger Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited Author: Aya Morningstar My Rating: Four Delightfully Entertaining Stars**** I'm completely addicted to anything paranormal, adore action and adventure, obsessed with science fiction and totally love romance but give me all four in one great story and I'm in heaven! And that's exactly what Aya Morningstar has done....and done it well. Marauder Aegus is the third release in the Mating Wars series and can be read as a standalone. However, since there is an underlying interconnected storyarc that runs throughout the series, I highly recommend reading all the books of the series in order of their release. I found the story to be cute, well crafted, fast paced and easy to follow with quite a few giggles and a tug at your heartstrings happy ending. The narrative is beautifully written in the first person with his and her perspectives primarily from the two protagonists, alien bear shifter Marauder Aegus and human Anya Ivanov. In this book there is also a very brief perspective from Marauder Fenrir from Book Two. The dialogue is snappy, well executed and flows smoothly. Although there's very little complicated sci-fi terminology or futuristic technological jargon in the story , I still found it to be quite imaginative and inventive, but well explained, easy to understand and follow. I fell head over heels for the two protagonists of the story, handsome, cocky purple alien Marauder bear shifter Aegus aka The Prophet and beautiful, plucky human Venusian Tsarevna Anya Ivanov. I felt they complemented each other well and enjoyed their interaction tremendously. I didn't feel an instant love connection between them which in this case is a good thing. Yes, they were both instantly attracted to each other on a physical level but it was more lust than love. It was immediate lust but the love developed over a period of months while each learned to accept and trust the other. It was different than the first two books and I liked that a lot! I admit, after becoming more familiar with the Aegus character in the two previous books of the series, I was looking forward to his story and became instantly smitten with the altruistic Marauder visionary trying to improve the future of his species by saving the human race. Unlike his brother Cygnus and his friend Fenrir, Aegus was more somber, serious, pensive, insightful and completely dedicated to his mission of consolidating the humans by stopping the civil war between the Empire and Mars and present a united front in order to prevent the total destruction of humanity at the hands of the currently en route Marauder fleet. No one can accuse Aegus of being a charmer but the big purple lug is extremely intelligent as well as selfless and does grow on you. And Anya is an absolute delight. She's courageous, smart and quite resourceful which all comes as quite a surprise to Aegus who is your typical alien male chauvinist. This is only my third time reading Aya Morningstar but it certainly won't be my last! I'm a fan for life.
Aegus plays the long game. Everything is riding on the success of his plan to stop the civil war and unite the planets of the Empire. He has been planning a stealthy infiltration of the planet Venus to reach and somehow convince the Tsar to help with his plan. Regrettably plans must sometime change. Fortunately, he now has an advantage albeit a beautiful and very complicated one named Anya Ivanov who, as it turns out, just happens to be the daughter of the Tsar. What? Oh yes, he interrupted the lovely Anya's escape from a forced arranged marriage and now he needs to figure out how to use the situation to his advantage. Unfortunately, he's more than a a whole lot attracted to Anya. It seems she may be his mate which was totally not in his plan at all! He has forced himself to refrain from having any relationships. He can't allow himself the luxury having feelings for anyone, especially the irresistible Anya. She's a distraction he can't afford plus it would compromise her safety even more. He must somehow stop himself from claiming her which is easier said than done. Aegus must complete his mission but he's running out of time to prevent the invasion by his fleet of Marauder brethren. So much to do and so little time! But there's always time for love, right? We'll see! No spoilers from me but I will say this...Seven foot tall purple alien space warrior/bear shifter Marauder with a kick butt biosuit trying to save humanity-check! Beautiful, brave, intelligent heroine determined to avenge her loss-check! A fleet of invading alien Marauders, a malevolent power hungry Empire Commander with dreams of grandeur-check! Danger, action, adventure, heartache, heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance and dreamy sex-you bet! That and a whole lot more! If you enjoy science fiction filled to the brim with sexy alien bear shifter warriors, strong sassy heroines, a great cast of supporting characters, heart-pounding danger, heart-stopping action, spine-tingling adventure, a little dry humor, dreamy romance and steamy sex, then this is most assuredly the book got you. Great entertainment and an awesome read!
Obviously ratings are little more than personal opinions but when I review a book, there are several questions I always ask myself. First did I like the book? Yes, I really liked it a lot. Once I started reading, I was immediately drawn into the story and simply could not stop until I finished. Personally, I felt this book had more action which I really loved. Second, was there anything I didn't like about the book? Actually, no. I thought the book was cute. There were a few little editing boo-boos but nothing that drew my attention away from the story. Third, would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does have some very steamy, dreamy love scenes, Fourth, will I read this author again? Absolutely! As soon as I finished the first book of the series, I signed up for her newsletter so I'll know Morningstar releases a new book and fortunately for me, these books are offered under the Kindle Unlimited program. And finally, was I entertained? Totally! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read! If you love cute, action packed and sometimes humorous easy to follow science fiction romance, then this is most assuredly the book for you.
Marauder Aegus🐻🔪🔫 is on the Venusian spaceport in disguise, trying to find a shuttle he can steal before he gets caught. There is a huge bounty on his head, on any marauder's head, and it's for capture dead or alive. Anya💋👑 is running away from an arranged marriage proposed by her father, the Tsar👑 of Venus, to an Earth Baron, to try to placate the Empire and end the blockade. A civil war is brewing. She gets to the space station on board a smugglers vessel, and from there hopes to get to Mars and away from the arranged marriage. Everything goes awry when Aegus🐻🍌🌋🔪 spots her walking with the smugglers and knows at once she is his true mate. The smugglers spot him and realize he's a Marauder🐻🔪🔫, and attack him for the bounty. Aegus🐻🍌🌋🔪 dispatches the smugglers, grabs Anya💋👑 and takes the smugglers shuttle down to Sankt Petersburg, a city floating above Venus, which is undergoing terraforming. Anya💋👑 tells her father, the Tsar👑, that Aegus🐻🍌🌋🔪🔫 is her fiance. Aegus🐻🍌🌋🔪 smuggly tells Anya👑💋 that he is a great charmer, as well as a killer🔪🔫, so he will charm her father. Aegus🐻🍌🌋🔪🔫 feels he owes Anya👑💋 shame debt for her helping him get the shuttle, and he cannot leave her because she is his mate. This book is more of a big adventure than a Marauder🐻🍌🌋🔥🔪🔫 sexcapade like some of the others in the series. I liked this book but my favorite is still Fenrir🐻🍌🌋🔪🔫. YEHAW! Ride Em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎
This is the first of the Marauders that I've read and I enjoyed it. I liked Aegus's armor. The stuff that he could do with it was just awesome! The characters, main and secondary, were a lot of fun. I got a kick out of a lot of the conversations and scenes. I have to see if the if the rest of the series is as good! Highly recommend.
A suspenseful plot, full of unpredictable surprises, adventures, and chaos. The characters are awesome, humans and aliens, fighting a battle to save their planet and destroy evil, to live in peace.
An improvement, but not a big one. So far I like Aegus, as character, better than any of previous one. Story is still way too rushed, no connection between characters are believable and massive gaps in story. The least annoying book in series so far.
I like this book a lot. It is the 3rd one in this series and Aegus the leader of the Marauder invaders that want to live peacefully with the people of Mars, Venus and the jungle has got to make peace among them all. He also has to stop the other half of the Marauders that want to destroy the people. He has a helper in the Tsarvena. He saves her when she is running from a forced marriage to Evil Bahamout and old General. Their struggle to survive and make peace is fun and sad. I have enjoyed this series and will continue with it.
Title: Marauder Aegus Series: Marauder Wars Series Note: Book 3 of 3 so far (more on the way, at least a 4th) and does NOT have a cliff hanger ending and has a HEA Author: Aya Morningstar
This is my review of Marauder Aegus, book 3 in Marauder Wars Series. I got this third book in the series free in exchange for an honest review. . This is the continuation of a great series and it can be read as a standalone. Each of the 3 books connect to each other but all 3 can be read as a standalone because each has its ending . Be warned though you will not want to stop with just this one book and I am ready to find out what happens in book 4 with Ramses and I am patiently waiting for that one.
This is the continuation of the story the marauders. Book 1 and 2 have both Cygnus and Fenrir finding their mates and coming to trust in Aegus and his true knowledge that Marauder-Human pairings will create what is known as the true Seraphin form. Marauders are constantly on the run because of the fact that once they mate with a particular species the children from that pairing are unable to mate with any of the original marauders or from the species that the marauders mated with. As a result they are constantly on the move from planet to planet taking it over, taking mates, reproducing, and then moving on to the next planet to keep their species alive. Aegus knew (back in book 1) that Humans were the key to stopping this but did not want it to happen by invasion but instead wanted his race to join with humans and co-mingle without war and deaths. The humans have since taken over the plants of Mars and Venus and all 3 planets are split between accepting what Aegus says about his followers wanting to exist peacefully together and between the fact that the other half want to destroy them. This is the story of Aegus and Anya, who happens to be the daugther of the reigning Tsar of Venus who meet quite by accident. Aegus is trying to get to Venus to speak to the Tsar ( he only has 6 months until his fleet arrives and they cannot see humans at war with each other) but Anya is trying to escape Venus and from an arranged marriage. They meet by accident, Aegus ruins her plans of escape so she uses his "shame debt" to announce that he is her fiancé. I think that the whole Yelda part is hilarious and I am glad to finally see one of the Marauders knows enough about humans and his mate to allow her to fight beside him without a huge fuss. I can't wait to see the Ramses story.
WHAT YOU’LL FIND IN THIS ALIEN ROMANCE STORY; AEGUS is an overwhelmingly hot, intelligent Marauder Warrior, and he can also shift into a bear. ANYA is a blue-eyed beauty, full of sass, and the Tsarevna of Venus; there is also a remarkably impressive and engaging cast of characters, camaraderie, family drama, gut-wrenching moments, horrific danger, life-threatening incidents, jaw-dropping toe-curling sensual romance, and a heart-melting conclusion leaving you wanting more.
HOW THEY MEET; Anya left her father the Tsar and home to avoid being marrying to someone she did not love. Aegus is on the Venusian spaceport searching for a ship to steal when he sees Anya. He needs to go to Venus {Sankt Petersburg } where General Bahamut from the Empire is. Aegus’s mission is to end Bahamut’s monstrous ways and avoid a war between the Marauder warriors and humans. His goal is to convince the Tsar not to side with Bahamut and get the jungle warriors to help in the fight against Bahamut and his soldiers. Anya helps Aegus steal a ship and they return to Venus to face her dad.
ABSOLUTELY RELISHED this fast paced well written alien romance. The author aced this story with the intriguing plot, sultry characters, breathtaking scene descriptions, witty dialogue and heart-stirring moments. The gripping suspense and action keep you glued to the story till the end. I loved the brazenness of the jungle warriors and the banter between Anya and Aegus. Anya fits well with the dominant Aegus; their romance is far from boring and is filled with much devotion and fiery passion. Both are valiant heroes. I found this to be a most exhilarating and gratifying read. If you treasure fantasy romance this is certainly a terrific book for your library. {I was gifted this book and this is my honest review}. In the world of fantasy romance, the possibilities are endless, but always fascinating. Without reservations, I recommend this book.
*I received this ARC from the author in exchange for a honest review*
MARAUDER AEGUS(Mating Wars series #3) by Aya Morningstar
Anya's father made a big mistake when he attempted to marry her off to a man she didn't love. She wanted to marry someone who cared about her, instead of going through with it she runs away and buys a ticket to Mars. But before she can even get out of orbit, they are attacked be an alien warrior ship. The alien Aegus says he only wants the ship, but she's not so sure.
Anya is left with two choices, hitchhike to Mars on her own with no money or accept the infuriating alien's protection and take him to the one place she doesn't want to go, her home. With very little choice she helps him.
She knew going back was going to be a very bad idea, and it turns into so much more. But before she can do anything, her life is turned upside down, by their worst enemy.
She always wondered what kind of man would stand up to her father, and it ends up been the most frustrating and obnoxious alien male. He wants her but is it as his pawn or his queen? She knows he will protect her but who will protect her from him? And will there even be a choice when the enemy attacks?
I loved this book, it was a really entertaining read. Filled with excitement, action, and romance. Even though this is not the final book in the series, it brings the story together perfectly with some interesting twists and turns. The characters are awesome, I loved them. My only grumble is at the beginning part of the story, where Aegus and Anya come together, it felt a little rushed for me. Otherwise overall this was still very enjoyable story!

This series keeps getting better… where is my extra half star option? This third book in the Mating Wars series may be my favorite yet, when we finally get the adventure that is Aegis’ story. With a quick pace and all of the entertaining banter that I’ve come to expect from Aya Morningstar, the chemistry between Aegis and Anya kept me engaged from start to finish. When they first meet, Anya, fleeing a forced marriage and Aegis, continuing his efforts to end civil war, find themselves returning to her home under the guise of being engaged, but it doesn’t take long for the simmering attraction between them to ignite as they work together to reclaim her legacy and find peace. I loved the epilogue of this book, which reunited Aegis with his brothers Fenrir and Cygnus under more festive circumstances, not only was the comradery between the Marauders fun to read, but it laid the groundwork for the next installment of the series, which I’m anxious to dive into. I’ve also committed to adding the world Yelda to my vocabulary, without offering any sort of explanation other than that you just need to read the book if you want to understand… Please note that I received a complimentary advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Anya is on the run from her father, the Tsar of Venus. He wants to marry her off to some boring, elderly Baron and she is having none if it. But when the ship she smuggled herself on board is later hijacked by a big purple alien, she knows she is safer with him than her fathers guards! But when the plan to return to her fathers palace and get him to listen to Aegus plan of survival goes pear-shaped, Anya and Aegus flee for their lives, but not before making an ally of two.
Stranded on one of the floating jungles Anya and Aegus need to convince the locals the benefit of joining their cause and giving up their semi peaceful existence.
Thrills and spills galore in this 3rd outing with the Bear shifting Purple hotties! Anya is a princess with a heart and mind of her own. Aegus is a master planner and is strategy for fending off the enemy faction is....AMAZING! The book is a quick read but it does actually span quite a length of time so it doesn't feel like a quick read. As usual the characters are larger than life but still wonderfully down to earth. Aegus is overprotective and oh so good in the bedroom! Anya has a streak of vengeance that won't be silenced - she is no damsel in distress!
Imagine St. Petersburg, Russia on Venus in the future, aliens that can shift and they have Yelda! You'll have to read the story to find out what yelda is. LoL
This was an action packed story with Marauder Aegus an alien warrior that can among other things shift into a bear! He is leader of a troup of marauders trying to bring to peace to Venus in a war that is about to erupt led by other marauders hell bent on taking over. Then while in search of a ship to steal and make his way to Sangt Petersburg in hopes of convincing the Tsar of his plans, he catches sight of Anya daughter of the Tsar and is immediately flabbbergasted by the feelings she envokes.. He starts to vibrate! Anya never thought that she would like the colors purple and teal so much, especially the teal, but more than colorful, Aegus is hot!
Aegus and Anya band together to put a stop to the havoc about to be reeked on Venus, but find themselves very much attracted to each other. And the passion is unlike anything Anya has ever imagined and he saves the best for last.
Loved the action, laughs and passion! Can't wait to read the next book in this series
This standalone is the third book in the series and features Cygnus' enigmatic brother, Aegus, who is implementing his plan to end the war from Venus. He's at a spaceport where he's recognized as a Marauder by pirates who want the bounty he will bring them. He takes care of them and steals their shuttle, along with the young woman with them. He quickly learns she is the Tsarina, Anya Ivanov, who was in the process of running from an arranged marriage when he interrupted her escape. So she comes up with a Plan B and introduces Aegus to her father as her fiance. This works beautifully into Aegus' plan to gain an audience with the Tsar. But the enemy is ready for them, kills the Tsar, deposes Anya, and sends Aegus and Anya on the run from the Empire and it's long reach. It will take every bit of skill they have to find and develop an allegiance with the tribes, descendents of the scientists who built and now tend the rainforests on Venus. And to be ready for the first wave of Marauder spaceships scheduled to arrive in about six months. This is a great Kindle Unlimited library read.
This story is about the fabled brother of Cygnus--Aegus. The guy who started the revolution. In this installment he's off looking for allies to fight off the marauder fleet, but ends up with a mate (Anya). *lol*
I liked the story and the main characters were okay. I enjoyed the chemistry between Anya and Aegus. I kind of preferred the side characters more. Irena, Yulia, and Nastya made me laugh and really filled out the story. I love their nickname for Aegus...Yelda. *lol*
This installment has the same typos the first two did. I have 14 highlights of the basically the same misspelled word which is a synonym for orgasm. It's a bit comical at this point.
How is the author's writing? Okay Is there violence? Yes Is there sexual content? Explicit How is the story narrated? Alternating persons How is the character development: Slim, needs more depth.
I've read the 4th book, Ramses and started the 5th. I have purchased the 6th. They are light, but entertaining reads.
Marauder Aegus is book 3 in the Mating Wars Series Aegus is waiting until his mission is done before looking for a mate. He is on his way to Venus to try and get the Tsar to side with him and not Bahamut from the Empire. When he tries to steal a shuttle he sees Anya. Anya is trying to get to Mars and away from her father who wants to marry her off her political gain. When she sees Aegus she can't keep her eyes off oh him. Then her best plan is ruined and she finds herself going back to Venus with Aegus. So what is a girl to do but tell her father that he is her finacee. Things go from bad to worse and Anya and Aegus find themselves on the run to the jungles to escape Bahamut. They have six months to come up with a plan to end the civil war. This story is action packed, love found and brothers reunited. I look forward to reading more in this series. I was giving an advanced copy for an honest review
Tanya knows what she doesn't want her life to be. Aegus on the other hand know his species is coming intent on invading the solar system and wiping out humanity - he is determined to prevent that, to create peace, and, if he is really lucky, prove to his species that he has found beings with which they can co-exist, and a place they can settle down.
This is the third story in a series, and each story has contained wonderful world building, as well as exploring the species. While the stories are done in one, I do feel I understood Aegus so well because I had also read Marauder Cygnus. Previous stories add depth, but none end on cliffhanger endings that the next one picks up on
I was gifted with a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review, and switched to the Kindle Unlimited version when it was published.
Marauder Aegus is another action-packed, suspense-filled episode of an arrogant purple alien, biosuit, and a reluctant human mate in the Mating Wars series. However, this episode finds its way to the jungle where no one wears clothes!
Anya Ivanov is the daughter of the Tsar. The Tsarevna. Anya is fated to marry a man she doesn't love and decides to run away when Aegus commandeers her ship and heads to Venus. Anya has just fled Venus to avoid marrying Bahamut and is in no hurry to return. Aegus charms her into returning to Venus (must be the naked purple skin or the biosuit). Bada bing, bada boom, and Aegus finds his mate. But with Anya and Aegus’ return to Venus, things get dicey when the battle to take down Bahamut begins. Aegus will do whatever it takes to protect Anya and help her take her rightful place as queen.
This is just as good as the previous books in the series has been. The story line and characters are good and the sex scenes sizzle, but they are not excessive and fit the story line. This book merits 5 stars
In this story we follow Aegus and Anya. Anya is on the run from her father and the empire. While she is in the middle of her escape she meets Aegus and ends up having to go back to Venus. While she is there her life changes again and they are now on the run. They reach the jungle but are they really safe there? Will they find a way to over through the Empire? Will they become mates? Will he become the Tsar? What will happen next?
What do you do when you meet a very large alien that can change into a bear? That is the question Anya has to answer when she meets Aegus. From there it is a wild ride that they are on to save the planet Venus. Action and steamy romance makes this a wonderful story. There is also humor as Anya and Aegus try to work together. I recommend this book if you love sci-fi and big aliens. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
