This was a quick fast paced read, full of insta-love, attraction, steamy sex scenes and paybacks. Normally I'm not into this type of quick read and prefer stories drawn out and the guy having to work for it, but Jenika Snow's storyline was to good to not appreciate and the guys were hot Russian mafia. You know, kill first ask questions later! Five bullet casing stars...enjoy!

2.5 stars. This definitely is not my favorite book by Snow. There were certain parts that I really liked and others, eh not so much.
I love a good Russian Bratva romance. The men while dangerous are usually really sweet to their women (I don't know if that's true IRL but in the books I've read it is). Sergei was no exception to this rule. He was a hard man and a stone cold killer but one look at Zoey/Myshka and he knew she was his. The things I didn't love about Sergei, he never said I Love You. He said plenty of mine, mine, mine but I like to hear the I love yous.
“He was hers as much as she was his. And it would always be that way.
Always.
He had never loved a woman, and he knew he never would. This was real, the most real fucking thing he’d ever experienced.”
I don't know if the author meant it this way or not but that line is from the end of the book. With him never voicing the words and thinking that, I guess he doesn't love her? Not sure.
Now Zoey, being in her mind made me want to stop reading and I almost did. It's a very short story and I don't really like to DNF so I stuck with it. Her mind was a CONSTANT loop of should I or shouldn't I, I can't be with him, I deserve to have something for myself after what I've been through, he's a dangerous man but I don't think he'd ever hurt me, blah, blah, blah. YET SHE IS THE FIRST AND ONLY ONE SPOUTING THE I LOVE YOU!!
To end this very long review of a very short book I will just say the epilogue was not satisfying in the least. The Snow books I've read in the past had good epilogues. This one was only six months in the future, it's mostly them having sex but they still live separately and we get a "marry me" and an "okay". Really?
I do usually really enjoy this author's books though and will continue to read them but this one just fell short for me when it could've been a favorite because I love the premise. Oh well, on to the next read.

Zoey was physically and emotionally abused by crazed and controlling boyfriend Rick. She finally runs after she beat him good across the head before he hurt her just as bad!
Zoey begins her life again with protection from sister, club owner. Yvgeny and his his associate from Moscow, Sergei!
Sergei spotted Zoey working in Yvgeny's club one night and he got to have her! Yvgeny told Sergei how she was abused by her ex but Sergei doesn't care and tell his associate he had to have her. Zoey was surprised that she was attracted to any man after Rick but she was and noticeably attracted to bad man, Sergei?
I would give you more (the title, lol) but that would take away from this gritty and sexy story!
4.5 ****.5 give me more stars

This one was a good story and i love a bravta ass!!
Sergei has taken over his fathers side now he is headed towards America to run the streets and talk some shop.
He meets Zoey a waitress at one of his friends clubs and he is drawn to her and his friend already warned him she is off limits (his buddy has the hots for Zoeys sister) but he tries lol to stay away yeah right that didnt last. And they date and get to know one another.. and he makes a promise to find her dirt bag ex and end him for what he did to her..
These two were adorable together and how she tamed him in this dark world of his.
I so wanna read her sisters story with her push and pull guy.
No ow drama some om drama, No cheating, slight secondary chara, sexy times, drama, no virgins

Oh my God... No. No. Just NO!
Even though this was (according to my ereader) 88 pages long, it was so repetitive, the same story could probably have been told in 30 pages. I don't know how any times it's mentioned that Sergei is a bad man (but would never harm a woman), or how "anything that feels right can't be wrong", or how she smells like freaking lemons! What?!
The first "intimate" scene dragged on and on! I don't know how many time Sergei said "I can't wait anymore, I have to have you now," but would have a freaking Q & A session with Zoey. "Do you want this?" "Are you wet for me?" "Are you mine?" Shut the hell up already!
Don't even get me started with the use of the word "baby". I mean, as a term of endearment, I don't find it offensive or anything, but in my mind, with his supposed Russian accent, all I can imagine is a "Terminator" type of stilted endearment in the likes of "Hasta la vista, baby". Yes I know they are totally different accents/nationalities but I couldn't help it. Nevertheless... Not sexy.
I don't normally rate books as a one-star. Probably my first one for the year, but I feel like this deserved it, sadly.

Zoey is in an abusive relationship with Rick and knows it's time to escape before she ends up dead. She goes to the town her older sister Alexa lives in knowing she can depend on her and that Rick has no idea where she lives or that they have different last names. Alexa manages a night club owned by Yvengy who is a Russian mobster but he cares for Alexa and detests men who put their hands on a woman. Yvengy gives Zoey a waitressing job at his night club, a place to live and a car to drive and he promises to keep her safe. Sergei is from Russia but he's in town visiting his friend and associate Yvengy, he too is a very dangerous man but also would never lay an angry hand on a woman. While at Yvengy's club he sees their beautiful waitress Zoey and immediately knows he wants to make her his. Sergei can see the pain in Zoey's eyes and knows she has been hurt before and that if he wants her he's going to have to go slow and earn her trust. Zoey is very attracted to Sergei and even though she knows he's a dangerous man she also feels completely safe when she's with him. What will happen when asshole Rick finally tracks her down ? Will Sergei be able to get to her in time ?

She shouldn't want him, knowing what he is and does but she can't help herself. Sergei will do whatever it takes to make her his, including hurting anyone who hurts her again. But when her past comes calling, can he save her. Hot, intense and so steamy, this is one you can't put down!! anyone that gets in his way or hurts her will pay. Great story and can't wait for the next book!

Love this! Brought it and read it in one sitting. This is about Zoey who has suffered physical abuse at the hands of her ex boyfriend! After making her escape to her sister Alexa, she starts a new life and and a
new job in a new town where she meets Sergei who is visiting from Russia, but the moment their eyes meet their fate was sealed. Loved this book from start to finish and hopefully we will get to see if her sister Alexa will get her HEA with Yvgeny!.

It really made no sense at all. Also, I was more interested in her sister and Yvgeny's story. Are we getting that? I didn't see anything at the end of the book to say there was another one coming.

Loved this quick read. I read this while sitting at work waiting for work to come in and it was a great way to pass the time. Zoey and Sergei were a great couple. She meets him when she is working the VIP room at a club and there was something about him that called to her. The chemistry between them was very steamy. Can’t wait for Alexa and Yvengy’s story.

This was a great book. To find a man who is strong and powerful and will do anything to protect you. This story was dark, instant attraction, protective alpha strong male, had physical abuse, pain, love and freedom. This story will have you sucked in from the very beginning and needing more.

I love a good Russian mafia romance. I like that these dangerous men are so sweet to their women, Sergei was no exception.
