Olivia Cabrera has just been elected mayor to the ice dragons of North Lyndvale - and she's in way over her head. To save her town, she's got to freeze out the dirty cops and persuade the hot-headed locals to chill.
But right away she gets burned by Calder Kingsley, police chief of the fire dragons of South Lyndvale. He’s charming, sexy, and on the wrong side…until they’re forced into a fake relationship to convince the Dragon Elders that fire and ice can play nicely together.
When petty rivalries escalate and a fire dragon attack threatens Olivia’s life, she’ll have to decide who she can trust, all while her smoking hot lover tempts her to scorch up the sheets.
Georgette St. Clair writes hot, sexy romances starring Alpha heroes. The road to love may be rocky and fraught with peril (and humor and scorchtastic sex and healthy heapings of snark), but her shifters will stop at nothing to claim the women they love.
Georgette has worn many hats in life: newspaper reporter, EMT, internet marketer, cocktail waitress, temp, nurse’s aide (not in chronological order).
When she’s not rescuing fur-babies, she spends her days in a fantasy universe where she nudges her smart-mouthed, take-no-gruff heroines onto paths which will set them on a collision course with true love.
I wish Georgette St. Clair wrote more about the Dragons of Lyndale because I'm absolutely OBSESSED with this universe. Like, I've written fanfics for it and idk how I'd even put them up on ao3. Is there a tag for this series????
Love Burns is another entry into the dragon world Georgette has created and I love this world. I find it so interesting and this one paired another ice dragon with a fire one. There is plenty of action and humour, as well as some fun moments with the secondary characters. While the mystery isn’t too deep or hard to figure out, this was still a great entry into this dragon world. I would definitely recommend to paranormal fans.
I totes loved Olivia! There’s also been a special place in my heart for Calder as well from the other books. I just love Olivia because she doesn’t put up with crap! Even Calder…nope not having it! It was explosive chemistry when they both met. Whats a bit of anger when clearly there’s a ton of attraction there? I have to admit this might be my favorite of the series right here. I loved their story. It didn’t always focus on the romantic aspects of the story. It was the small things throughout the book and it didn’t take focus away either. Someone is out to harm Olivia..errr.kill…maybe? Her father Quinton is kind of a bad seed. Ok…not kind of but he seemed to sort of redeem himself at the end. Calder and Olivia date to be “seen” as getting along since the Fire Dragons and Ice Dragons are at odds most of the time. If they don’t get along the Council will come and take over and nobody wants that. She’s got a past and after being away from her home for 20 years she comes back and is elected mayor of North Lyndvale. She wants to make a difference and help her people. Not everyone is happy it seems. Wonder who is behind the attacks? A couple of people come to mind but Georgette has us guessing for quite awhile. Calder isn’t having it and decides to investigate it himself since nobody from North Lyndvale is cooperating. They really bond and are sweet together. I loved the story. Really I did. Calder’s mom Tabitha. Now, she upset me a bit in the last book, but she wiggled her way into my good graces this time around. She comes off so disappointed in Calder sometimes but then you see some little things that you know she’d do anything for her son. She does want to see him happy. I had a blast reading about Olivia’s assistant Ermengarde! She’s so funny and man does she have Olivia’s back. She’s like a mama bear. Enjoyed the book very much!
Can Fire and Ice mix? Calder Kingley is the black sheep of his family due to his high morals or right and wrong. His family being “past or reformed” jewel thief’s. He ends up being the new Vigilum Principle or Police chief of the Fire Dragons in South Lyndvale. First day on the job and he meets a female Ice Dragon that also happens to be the daughter of North Lyndvale’s Principle. On top of that she (Olivia Cabrera) the Intern Major of South Lyndvale. And then theirs’s the Overseer for Dragon Elders that plans to be in town for the next month. He’s hoping to catch the Ice and Fire dragon’s crimes against each other. If he does then they have cause to dissolve the local government and the area become under council control. Now back to the Olivia and Calder and their attraction to each other. Can Fire and Ice mix? Well written and very entertaining story to read.
Great story. As the story progresses I found myself guessing who the real evil doers are. I loved the characters and the ending was a surprise but a nice one for the couple. Fast read and some what predictable. I enjoy this author. Not book2 should have been book one if you want read the series in order. Enjoy!
I really liked the main characters in this story and the supportive characters were quirky and engaging. This is the second book in her dragon series I have read and it is my favorite so far. The chemistry between our hero and heroine was wonderful. I am off to read the third book.
Good story. I really have enjoyed this and all your series. They can be serious, funny and even though you know the ending will be a happy one the adventure is great.
I just love this series. The other brother finds his girl on the ice dragon side of town add in a little excitement and attempted murder and you get a great story.
I love this one. I thought their back and forth was great and her neighbor/assistant was hilarious. I liked the little twist in the book. There was a lot of humor and I thought it was great overall. Barnum was hilarious and I want him to have his own story. He was so cute in his puppy love. I loved his snarky, sexy, hilarious attitude and she just sort of demanded and she went along with it. Smug asshole. A funny smug asshole.
Overall this was a great, quick, hilarious, sweet read and I can't wait for the next one. I do hope Barnum gets a story, I think his would be so sweet with the kids. If you need a light, funny read-this one is a great one.
Twists and turns, that was the first thought that came to me when I started to write the review. I love a storyline that appears obvious but then the author gives us a little surprise. I also love when a book is both light hearted but has serious subject matter. It takes real talent to combine both in a storyline. This book had humor but also murder and deception. It had horrible bullying that was handled in a manner that made me smile. It had terrible injustice that was righted in a manner that again made me smile. The book never made me feel truly bad about what was happening even as I recognized it as truly bad. I think it was the strength of the characters and how they handled life's injustices. Their perseverance and positive attitude and pride reflected back to the reader. Oh, and there was a great romance too. Not sappy, just the kind that fits. You know what I mean, when two people meet and they just fit together. The best kind. Great book
4.5 stars. Another good read from Ms St Clair What a great story, these two were so made for each other. A good light-hearted story that makes you feel good for having read it. Olivia is an Ice dragon. What a smart, quick thinking, lovable, compassionate heroine but she was not a push over by any means. She was so engaging and had the best interests of her town at heart as their mayor, her behaviour with the bullies was wonderful. Calder we met briefly in book one as the black sheep of the family. He is the standard for all uptight law officials. I loved that he arrested Olivia right at the beginning. Calder was a super hot hunky fire dragon and a really nice person. This is my honest review of this book.
funny with a bit of who done it mixed in Love Burns should be read. Ice and fire meets once again to bring us a cute love story and an end to the crooked cop
Another enjoyable book by Georgette St. Clair. I definitely love her shifter series. Some unexpected twists and turns within this story. I loved Calder and Olivia. I also enjoyed having Calder's mother reappear within the book. Look forward to reading more by this author. I received a copy with a promise of an honest review.
What a great story about Fire and Ice dragons. This is the 4th book in the Mating Game series. This story has many twists and turns, youth vandalism, greed, assassins and romance. Olivia is the Mayor and ice dragon section of town. Calder is the Chief of police for the fire dragons. Right from the start these two are at each other. Will they overcome their dislike of each group enough to work together. Who is trying to kill Olivia? Will they figures it out before its to late? I give this a 5 star rating.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I have read all in this series and they are really good. The Fire dragons and the Ice Dragons are very intriguing. The plot in this story was so good that I finished this very quickly. The hero was a hot and sexy Fire Dragon who has not chosen the path his family has for years and a no nonsense Ice Dragon gets his fire going. She is the mayor now and she is at arms length with her father and family. There is someone who is trying to hurt her and our hero will stop at nothing to protect her.
I loved this book! Short read, St. Clair could make her books longer just for the pure pleasure of not putting her books down as they are too addicting when reading and I always want more story, another chapter or ten as you fall in love with not only the main characters but the supporting characters too. This book has it all - plot, romance, comedy and meaning - you will love this book the best out of the series!
I absolutely enjoyed this book. I couldn't get enough of Calder mom Tabitha she had me laughing through out the entire story. I loved the interaction between Calder and Olivia no nonsense attitude definitely keep Calder on his toes. I'm just glad they realize that they were meant for each other. Overall a great read. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
An Ice Dragon and a Fire Dragon can not only get along but fall in love. This happens while families argue, while intrigue runs through the storyline, and new family and friends are made. This story takes us back to Lyndvale and we get to meet up once again with the Kingsly family. I was waiting for Calder's story and I really enjoyed it!
Ms. St. Clair is an author I just one-click automatically. I love her characters. I find them so easy to relate to and with her writing style, it's so easy for me to just immerse myself in her worlds. Love how this continues on from the last book. I want more about them as I'm totally digging Calder's mom Tabitha.
I really liked the previous books about the Kinglsey's but this one is my favorite. Calder and Olivia have some funny scenes, great banter and steamy sex. The secondary characters were wonderful. I got a kick out of Barnum, the Mortensens, Tabitha and especially Ermengarde.
I love this book and the series . Ice dragons and fire dragons. Feisty women and sexy men, a great story what more could you want. I always look forward to this authors books and would recommend Gifted for an honest review.
As usual I am never disappointed in one of her books I love that the women are not perfect yet loved for all of the right things. My only wish is she would right faster I read a book a day it's hard waiting around
Omg another amazing story from Georgette st Claire , the character's are stunning .you laugh , cry and rant along with the story . Worth every penny spent . Five stars all the way
