Jolie is talked into going speed dating and really isn't holding out hope of anything coming from it until Gabe sits at her table. She's totally smitten with him and she doesn't know it but so is he.
Gabe goes speed dating but after being hurt in a past relationship, he's chosen to keep a few things about himself a secret.
So when the speed dating agency calls them both to let them know they're a match and they go on a second date, he doesn't tell the whole truth about himself and when Jolie finds out that he lied, it almost destroys what they could have. They are both shifters and they're both hoping to find their mates one day. Because this is a short novella, the pace was fast and things happen fast between them.
This was a short (72 page), sweet, novella that was just the right length when I only had a little time to read one night. Plus it was a great introduction to the Mate in a Minute Speed Dating Agency series.

Cute short about shifter speed dating. This falls into the "softer shifters" category, where no real shifting happens, and it plays almost no role in the story, except to add a fated/true mate element. Sweet way to pass an hour if you have KU and need a quick read.

Heat and heart
Fun, light read.
Love that Jolie is a landscaper and why I picked up the book. Love heroines with passion for unexpected genre careers. Gabe was fun with a bit of alpha but not a lot of toxicity.
Bit of a fast pace for the fated mate, but it's a short novella. Docked some points for the shortness. I think a bit more interaction outside of passion would have helped. Gabe needed a bit more developing.
Loved the side characters, Zane and Des. Can't wait to read more. Jolie and Zane's friendship really worked. As did the sibling relationship between Des and Gabe. Each character had their own nice.
If you like Shelly Laurenston, you'll like this series. Solid, fun read.

"Meet her mate in minutes? Ha! Oh, wait... look at that hottie over there..." This story is quite cute. It's romantic, tragic, and the characters are absolutely wonderful. Can't wait to read the next one.

I loved it!!! Can you imagine true mates meeting for the first time and only have 5 minutes togetther? This new series is going to be a hoot!

Her Ex really did a number on her self confidence.. After losing a bet to her BFF, she goes to Mate in a Minute Speed Mating event and circles no on all the males that sit at her table, until her choices are yanked out of her hand by the last yummy, quiet hunk to sit down. Only she thinks he wants to make sure they are not matched, little does she know he wants to make sure she never comes up for air from under the covers.
Bear shifter Zane Jacobs has turned into a recluse after being backstabbed by his money hungry ex-wife. Now he comes face to face with his mate and is mute, but does the only thing that comes to mind at the moment to ensure that he gets his mate at long last.
Will these 2 lost souls find love at long last?
I can't wait to read Zane's story.

I want more Mate in a Minute stories! This was a great story! I have read some of Ms. Dave's other stories. She is a great writer, and I think you will enjoy this story.

This was a short, fun read- very mindless and enjoyable.
Jolie is a hardy badger shifter and feels insecure about how rough around the edges she is due to her job.
Gabe is a 6'10 beast (sorry, bear) of a man who has his own reservations about relationships too.
The instant attraction between them was palpable and I liked seeing how compatible they were in nature despite being very different shifters.
I ADORED the shifter dynamics. The mention of different types of unusual shifters was really interesting and funny to learn about. I also liked seeing how the character's animal nature played into their day to day life and personality.
Spice level 1.5- definitely wasn't the spiciest thing I've read, but it was cute.
Overall, it kept me entertained which is all you can ask for from a cute novella like this.

The ending of this story seemed to be quick. The build up was good. Jolie lost a bet from her best friend and must attend a speed dating service. A dating service to find a mate. Thinking she will not find a mate because of what her last boyfriend described her to be. But after meeting Gabe, sparks flew but little words were exchanged. Thinking it didnt go well Jolie leaves but Gabe knows what he wants and will go after Jolie. But Gabe has secrets too, will he let his guard down?
I just wish the last couple of chapters didnt go so fast it seemed rushed.

A daisy in the rose bush
This quicky checked all the boxes for me. The characters were fantastic, and while the story was short the author took the time to fully develop them. I love the meddling sister, and the meddling best friend, and I enjoyed the experience as these two returned to the dating world and found their HEA. This book is perfect for the poolside and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Sweet!
Short read about Jolie, a badger and Gabe, a bear meeting at a minute speed dating event. Jolie is in landscaping and afraid that most men won't like her the way she is and Gabe is a rich tech, afraid that women will want him only for his money. They meet, it's kismet, they mate and fall happily in love.

This was a cute fast pace paranormal romance with Gabe and Jolie dining their mate. Light drama and sneaky secondary characters. I really enjoyed the attraction with the characters and the witty banter. I would like be seeing Zane and Des get their own mates. 4 Stars #2OCCJD

This was a wonderfully quick read. It was heart warming and sexy as well. The characters were wonderfully described. This story makes you want to be inside and feeling all the emotions yorself.

Jolie lost a bet with her best friend so she had to go to a speed dating thing. Gabe’s sister told him that he should go to it too. He was the last person to meet Jolie and knew that she was his. Took a little bit to connect. Great book!

I liked it!
This story has some really great characters. They come together in a story that is well written and thoroughly enjoyable, perfect when you're in the mood for an easy reading HEA. I definitely plan on reading the next book!
