Bear is bored and tries to find something to do when everyone else is so busy. Waiting is the key. Fun book to read to kids who are bored. Nice water color like illustrations.

Who isn't bored at some point in their lives? Such gorgeous illustrations and I loved the idea that little bear solves his boredom by being more aware and observant. An important message for children in this age where they are constantly bombarded with one activity after another and don't even get a chance to be bored anymore!

Absolutely charming little book! The artwork is sweet, and the story has a very "zen" quality to it. I love the message it imparts, that when nothing's going on, turn to the little things around you to find inspiration and use your own imagination to make your own fun. Great stuff!

Underwhelmed with this one. I liked the idea of little bear going off and curing his boredom by being engaged with the outside world but the story didn't stick its landing, if that makes sense.

This book is really good but easy! This book is wonderful, although I might say that it's really easy for me.

Have you ever been completely bored with absolutely nothing to do and no one to play with? Most parents only remember boredom as a distant and often fond memory. For a child, however, boredom can see like a tragedy. In our busy world, boredom is rare and often children are uncertain how to handle an unplanned moment. Poor little bear is certainly depressed about his bored state until he flops on the ground to do absolutely nothing. It turns out that sometimes nothing is actually the change in perspective you need to see the world in a whole new way. A warm story about the positives of some time to be bored, the simple wonders all around us, and the value of having the time to see them.

I am so bored is a phrase I've heard more than a few times in my household! "I Am So Bored" is a cleverly written book to reach children ages 3-6 years old that seem to struggle with this common issue. The world can be hectic, busy, and boring at times to children (even for me!)! This story serves as a wonderful reminder to just stop, look around, and see what you can do by purely using your imagination. I can vouch that my children do pretty amazing things when there aren't screens, noises, and a plethora of things overloading their senses.

In this story, we meet a bear cub. This bear cub is bored and has no idea what to do. His friends are busy and his mama too! This is is something that happens to every child. The bear wanders off on his own and eventually lays sprawled out with nothing but the grass at his back and the sky above him. It's at that time that that his senses are woken up and he starts seeing the world come alive around him! He hears the birds chirp, notices the little mole in ground, and so many other wonderful things. Being outdoors reaps amazing benefits but really it's the stopping the pace and just being still that one can truly have enjoyable time full of amazing discoveries.

The illustrations are full of earth colors and tones and look to have been created using a paintbrush. The text is a little hard to read on some of the pages because of darks greens and browns but you can still make it out.

The writing is simple and easy to understand for little ones. My two oldest children (ages 8 and 5 ) told me they enjoyed the book and would try in the future to do as the little bear has done. The told me yes they've had moments of boredom and feeling left out when everyone else was busy. I'm encouraging them to have a book of ideas of things that they could do when times like these present themselves.

This book is a good pick for caregivers, teachers, and parents of either boys or girls to read during story time to instill the importance of being patient and using their imagination.

Seriously how many times a day do you hear that from the kids?? This cute book teaches kids what to do when they are bored.
This book is about a little bear that can’t find any of his friends to play with. Even Momma Bear can’t play. This little bear finally just lies on the ground. Doing nothing. Just laying there.
This adorable book is great for teaching kids to be still and hear and see things around them. From cloud watching to pretending you can fly like a bird.
When I asked the 5-year-old if she liked the book she said ‘It’s boring’. I said “Oh, does that mean you didn’t like it?” She looked at me like I had lost my mind. “No Non, it’s the BORING book!” Still not understanding if she actually liked the book or not I asked the same question in a different way “Are you going to want to read it again?” This is apparently where I made her lose her patience “Of COURSE I want to read it again!! Especially when I am BORED!”
This book is great for reminding kids that independent play is fun and a great way to use their imaginations. The illustrations throughout I Am So Bored are so cute. The little bears face is adorable. I especially love the page with the clouds, which actually look like several different things depending on who is looking! Yes, I do argue with a five-year-old, Everyone has a hobby, that’s mine!
No whines here. This is a very cute book. Cute story and adorable illustrations.

I Am So Bored! by Henrike Wilson is an adorable book! I really love how this book teaches kids to slow down and look at the world around them. I also love that it teaches them to enjoy the things around them. My kids are always saying they're bored so just this past week I've been telling them to do what the little bear from this book did and it actually worked. My kids sat outside peacefully looking and the sky and the birds in the trees. They came in from outside and told me about everything they heard and felt. They were actually outside when it began to sprinkle so they loved telling me all about the tiny sprinkles they felt. I Am So Bored! by Henrike Wilson also teaches kids to use their imagination when they're bored which is a great way to play! I absolutely adore the illustrations throughout this book as do my kids. I Am So Bored! by Henrike Wilson is a terrific book and I highly recommend it! Disclosure: I received product(s) for free, in exchange for my honest review. I only recommend products I've used personally, and believe will be good fit for consumers.

Wilson, Henrike I Am So Bored! PICTURE BOOK. Sky Pony Press (Skyhorse Publishing), 2016. $16.99.

Most children have uttered the phrase, "I'm bored!" at least once in their lives. Therefore, they will be able to relate to this story where little bear is so bored. With no one to play with, he wanders aimlessly until he lies down in the grass and does nothing. Through the senses of sight, sound, smell and touch he is suddenly aware of all the wonderful things around him.

This story shows children, that like little bear, they can make their own fun. This book was published in Germany in 2015 and translated into English by Connie Stradling Morby. The illustrations are simple but colorful. This book can be used as a starting off point for students in practicing using their senses as they explore outside like little bear.
