(3,5 of 4 for a nice but flawed sci-fi comics, again)
I like the story and its elements/ideas, but I didn't shake the feeling that it's all over the place. It has no real conclusion, it ends with the end of current adventure but the bigger story is still unconcluded. Maybe they planned to do more of it, but I do not wonder why there is no more of it.

Everything else remains the same as for the first book.
(with a previous book I rounded the star rating up, so now I¨m rounding it down)

Same as volume 1, it's close to a 3.5 but not close enough to warrant the 4 stars.

Again, this story has plenty of good parts, but also a knack to leave the reader unfulfilled. Volume 1 ends with a discovery made by the second ship to venture in space, but seems like all of that is immediately forgotten, same as the super-important secret mission they were on. There's also very little about the big threat to Earth which set all these events in motion in the first place. Instead, the focus is entirely on Discovery's adventures and contact with space races. This has a very Star Trek vibe to it, which is always appreciated. Ending ono a cliffhanger again, this time one that will never resolve since the book didn't continue further.

All in all, I don't regret the time spent with this story, but feel it could have been so much more.

This volume wraps up the comic series, but it didn't really provide a satisfactory ending. The storyline that runs through the final 5 issues does get concluded, although there is certainly a bit of deus ex machina in the resolution, but it feels like the show has been cancelled halfway through the first season.

The artwork maintained its high quality, and the writing is good, although it does tend to jump around a bit, but my biggest gripe is that there should have been more. I don't know why Haberlin choose not to continue this series - perhaps he no longer had time, perhaps the sales figures didn't justify continuing, perhaps he didn't have another story to tell - in any event, there were no more issues created, which I think is a pity.

3.5 stars, just because there are no more volumes, leaving the story on one hell of a cliffhanger...
This carries on the voyage of the good (FTL) ship Discovery with the crew rebelling to discover who/what is 'betraying' their mission, putting themselves, the ship and their mission in serious jeopardy, all because of the crystal Tesseract that they discovered in volume 1. It's the interaction with the Tesseract that leads to the massive cliffhanger, at the end of this volume, that will never be resolved...so disappointing...

Really enjoyed this series. I could have done without the alien bar stuff but other than that it was a great story that left me wanting to explore this world more. I was very sad to find out that the series wouldn't continue.

Vol. 2 was an improvement over Vol. 1. I accepted the that this was going to be Star Wars and then it was quite fun and imaginative. It’s too bad that there are apparently no further issues published.

Amazing continuation of this absolutely super cool story line! It's hard to describe other than if you like Star Trek and aliens then this is a must read. Now when does the next one come out?!?!

Way more stale moments, lack of character development and there being less space adventure in general in this volume is why I’m rating it lower. I still enjoyed it though!

It’s a shame the series ended here as it seemed to be set up to go for a long time. Brian haberlin’s version of Star Trek

More space adventures à la Star Trek

This collection continues with the premise that faster-than-light technology has been discovered and a mission is sent out into space to find allies and technology to defend the planet from an alien race.
The adventures continue with encounters with many alien races and perilous situations.

The illustrations lack precision for my taste and I found them a bit confusing. However the story is developed well and enjoyable.
