Holding His Forever
Derek aka Phoenix is a New York City firefighter and has dedicated his life to saving people. When he loses two of his men in the line of duty, he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to see the light again.

So I gotta be honest and say that I just didn't love this one.
I know, I know.
Usually I am like this when reading an Alexa Riley:
They are such awesome guilty pleasure reads.
And you always know what you know what you are getting with AR:
Over the top possessive alpha maleness, with a side of safe insta love - which is usually A-OK with me.
For some reason, however, this one just didn't work for me.
I didn't feel all that drawn to Derek and Fia in the way that I usually do with AR couples.
Plus, this one was riddled with a few more typos and such than normal...and I found it to be a little distracting.
Sorry...
But fear not, my friends
I'm definitely in the minority on this one, so it's probably just me.
Looking forward to their next release.

And it LIVE!!!
I just love it how you wait for the release date and all of a sudden the book is released a day early, yay!!! I admit I got this read a bit early but for all the other AR reads I know the wait can be pure torture. But then the story makes it all worth it!
I was a bit surprised with this story. I loved that you got a bit of action and even a hint of angst near the end of the book, so that was definitely a pleasant surprise. I wished more of their books were like that. The sweetness is just the cherry on top, so no complains from me here.
Derek and Fia are such a cute couple and I wished fate let them met under different circumstances. Both have to fight through life to keep their feet above the water. When tragedy strikes at Fia's apartment Derek's at the right time and place. The rest you can figure out. I loved them and I wished I got more of their story but that's always the same with AR books. You simply can't get enough of them. Can't wait for the next AR treat. :)

5 'Strawberry or Mango' Stars!
Another great addition to Alexa Riley's shorties! It has been quite a while since I read something by these two lovely ladies and it was time to check it out again! And this made me fall in love all over again with their over-the-top love stories!
Holding His Forever is the story of Derek Phoenix (a hot firefighter that is haunted by the loss of his friends at work) and Fia Clover (a lonely young woman who struggles to pay her studies and everything changes for her when caveman Derek saves her from a fire in her building).
“Don’t leave me,” she whispers before closing her eyes and passing out.
“Never.”
I have to say, I found that Holding His Forever probably is one of the sweetest short stories Alexa Riley has ever written. Derek and Fia are so freaking cute together! Their love story seems quite like a fairy tale, really. And let me tell you, as always, the sex is super hot! AR never fails on that department!
“I’m not going anywhere, Derek. Just please don’t break my heart.”
“The only thing I plan on breaking is this headboard.”
Without taking my eyes off her pussy, I lick my lips. “This is fresh? Never been kissed?”

Therefore, my rating for Holding His Forever is 5 STARS because I enjoyed the shit out of this short story! It's super-sweet, with lovable main and secondary characters and a couple with amazing chemistry, who complains about that, right? So yeah, if you want a short but awesome way to pass the time, I highly recommend this book!

The perfect sweet and steamy story!!!
Derek has too be the sweetest Alexa Riley's H to date (not counting Xavier and Koda, from her Fairytale Shifters series, those will always be the top), without losing not one ounce of his alpha hotness!!! Fia enchanted him from the very first sight, and from that moment on he would give anything for her! He was just dreamy... Sigh
And Fia was just as incredible, and strong. In Derek, she found the true home she never had before in her life!
It was yet another beautiful and sexy read, true to AR's style, and I can wait for more!!! <3 <3 <3

This is a perfect story from Alexa Riley. Heart-warming, sweet and sizzling hot with sexy fire fighter and cute heroine.
Fia Clover is alone in life. She works hard in a restaurant and in a shelter for women to have enough to live and save enough to complete studies. When a fire breaks in her apartment, she goes back in her progress, but meets the charming firefighter who surprisingly wants to help her.
Derek aka Phoenix is a first lieutenant in the fire station and people depend on him. When he loses people during one of the actions, he can not come to terms with it. His life is dark, until one day he rescues a beautiful woman from the fire. She is so lost and scared, and he wants immediately take care of her.
It is an absolutely beautiful story. They find affection and peace of the soul in themselves. He is a caring, thoughtful and loving. You fall in love with him, I'm sure of it. They have a adorable interactions with each other, burning hot in bed and bringing a smile on your face the morning after. It's insta-love and over the top but everything is very real. With a mysterious plot twist, for me it was perfect short reading. If you have not yet started to read her books is the hit choice to start.
I can not wait for your full-length book, Alexa Riley. Finally! Its about damn time.

Another fabulous little novella from the dynamic duo, and this time we get to see a fireman, go all alpha, growly and possessive over his Lightning bolt, love at first sight.
Fia Clover, innocent and unassuming, suddenly finds herself homeless and without possessions after a fire destroys her home, being saved and protected by a big, burly and somewhat attractive fireman manages to take a little of the sting out of her predicament.
Being in her presence has taken away all the cold inside and bought light and warmth to me.
Especially as he seems happy to hang around at the hospital to ensure that she is okay, and goes above and beyond the lines of duty to find her somewhere to stay, clothing to wear, and keep her sleazy boss out of her way.
"I thought I dreamed you up."
All the ‘insta’ goodness you can hope for ensues, with a little suspense thrown in to keep things moving along, and as you would expect all of Derek Phoenix’s alpha tendencies go on 'full throttle' when it comes to protecting his woman.

Another 5 star scorching hot story from Alexa Riley. Derek and Fia were great characters. Derek was such a compassionate and gorgeous hero and Fia was so sweet, kind and innocent. These two together had the best chemistry.
Derek was the hot-as-sin firefighter hero. He started out as the guy who avoided getting emotionally close to anyone, because of an issue in his past. When he rescued Fia from a house fire, something about her caused him to start to feel again. When they met, sparks flied!
The intensity and need between them made this great story hard to put down. The build was perfect and I thought they both had great back stories. This story was extremely well written! Very romantic, and filled with fluff as well.
This is a one hot little book with lots of chemistry. I mean what's not to like about a hot firefighter right? Alexa Riley’s novella is a wonderful romance filled with passion, tenderness and spectacular sex.

This book was about Derek a hot firefighter and Fia a college student, who both had been through some difficult times. I think in this book we get the chance to know more about our heroes and their lives which I liked a lot. I liked Derek and Fia's story line, and as usual I wanted more of them.
I never get enough....

2* not enough fire STAR!
Why oh why... this book was such a disappointment. Maybe I'm a minor because I DID NOT ENJOY the story. I rolled my eyes towards the heaven ask for their help finish this book even I know this is very short. Plus point for a bit thrill that helped to spice the story, otherwise it felt so hollow.
Derek Phoenix was born to be a fire fighter and already in his family's blood. His friends' death make him feels alone until Derek met her. Fia is trying to survive with her poor condition. Work as a waiter with a pervert boss and to paid her college credit. Sadly, her dream was crushed when the fire destroy everything she have. That when Fia met her heroes.
I believe this will make a good amazing story IF ONLY there's more chemistry between Derek and Fia than the caveman's attitude and shy-cat girl. They're very touchy kind of person and not really my type. I need more connection and affection; not only fuck-me-virgin. Predictable and decent plot with the happy ending when it came to marriage and babies. I was anxious when will Alexa Riley bring their flirty smut back. Sorry, it wasn't HOT enough for me; only sweetness.

Holding His Forever was a quick insta-love story where a firefighter comes to the rescue of a sweet virginal heroine. When Derek Phoenix rescues Fia from a burning building, he knew instantly she was his angel and he had to claim her. Immediately, he brought her back to his apartment and provided her shelter. It didn’t take long till Derek had to claim her and make her his forever.
Like I said earlier, if you are looking for a quick HEA love story with a hot firefighter coming to your rescue, then this book is for you. As always be prepared for those sexy steamy love scenes that you can always count on Alexa Riley to deliver.

This one also has some ACTUAL STORY going on. Which was a nice change of pace.
I thought this was fantastic. It was sweet. It was ridiculous. It was full of cheese, but I loved it.

Fia is trying to keep her head above water. Her apartment catching fire doesn’t help. That’s until she catches sight of the fireman who saves her.
It’s Alexa so you know how it goes. I have to say this isn’t one of my favourites but it’s okay.

A firefighter who is called sunshine by his Papa. How sweet...
The love story of the book has a duration of two days, before sunshine proposes to his angel.
The usual insta-love, the virgin girl, a huge amount of dirty talking. I cannot imagine anyone not laughing when she/he reads the book.

This one was a quick and easy read. It is an insta-love story between a fireman and the woman he saves. When I want a very simple read with a ton of heat thrown in, I will reach for an Alexa Riley book! With this one, I liked the fact that it didn't come across as a porn script!! There was a bit of a story to it, and it was a story that I felt would have been a great read if it was a full length book with a more in depth look into the characters in the script! For a short read though, it was enjoyable enough, even if it was a bit far fetched!!!!

Once again Alexa Riley has written an insta-everything, with a possessive and protective hero, a sweet and innocent heroine, and some VERY hot sexy times. I really don’t know how she does it, because novellas like these should be ridiculous, but she always makes it work for me. Yes, it’s OTT and super cheesy, but it’s sexy and sweet and so enjoyable :-D. A definite must read for all Alexa Riley fans!

Another hit! Could Derrick have been any sweeter? Insta love, a hero who was sweet, kind and NOT a manwhore! Fia was so unassuming and didn't want to take advantage of Derrick's kindness. Just an all around great read! We also got a short epilogue with a HEA!

So when I see an Alexa Riley book, my first thought is always this
Bring on the Sumt!!!
Unfortunately lately her books have been coming out like this
I was ok with the last 2 reads from AR, even though the smut factor was low I was totally in the mood for cutesy
This one fell short. :( The sex was boring, the story was boring and the characters were boring. Waaaa
Oh well. Can't win them all and I still love her!

Well it's classic AR here.
The story is hot and steamy and the character endearing and strong.
I don't think there is any books that these writing duo have written that I have not read.
In this story we have two very lost souls looking to find a meaning to it all. Just when things could not get worst, the light shines down and their worlds collide.
How more amazing can it get when we have a hot fire chief looking at a woman with love-lust in his eyes believing he has found his angel.
His ONE reason for existing.
Wow just many WOWS!
The heroine is a strong woman looking to make her way despite all the hard knocks that have come her way. She was at her lowest, when she honestly found her hero, her other half, her reason for being.
I don't have to tell you have much I loved this book. It had just the right amount of backstory for both of them.
For once I can say it was short but complete!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone.
If you are note a fan, this book may just make you change your mind.
If you are a fan...well what the hell are you waiting for get yourself a copy!

Holding His Forever al igual que todos los libros de estas autoras son el tipo de lectura para leer cuando tienes poco tiempo o como es mi caso, no te apetece leer nada complejo o largo.
Esta novela en concreto fue dulce y si hubiera sido mas larga y con un desarrollo distinto podrian ser bastante aceptable, pero como ya se que esperar de estos libros, solo dire que son lecturas para desconectar y con las que dejarte llevar, si te pones a analizarlas pierden su gracia.

Well, another AR book. Shorter than short, the "falling in love" isn't so much falling as it is the equivalent of being shot from a canon, but it was ultra-sweet and I loved both MCs. The background story (yes, there was one) was quite well done too and about an important topic (abused women, shelters and the sacrifices men/women in uniform make). I had a blast (with one star being deducted for being too short as well as having a few expressions/lines that were just not my style)! :D

This is a very sweet quick read. I'm really impressed with Alexa Riley we all know they can write steamy hot but this book shows they can write an oh so sweet romance. Not sure if I would rate this a 3 1/2 or 4 star.

I read this thru KU while waiting on a pre-ordered book.
Duo 1st person POV- but seems like Derek's pov is the strongest and well... more interesting.
Derek was very sweet to Fia. Yes insta-love.
The editing missed some grammar mistakes. I kept on reading.........................
Fia is a sweet little "angel" Mary Sue. It gave Derek a lot of chances to show his alpha-maleness.
I laughed in some of the "serious" moments.
Derek:
"I've not once been this possessive of anything in my life, and I suddenly find myself wanting to throw her over my shoulder and carry her to a tower in a castle so no one else can so much as look at her beauty." awww. aint that sweet?
Lots of sexy sweet love at first sight. A bought of PTSD. A bad guy. (Look out Mary Sue!)
