There is an alternate cover edition for this ASIN here.

When a wolf and a tiger are playing in the woods…

Camp sucks.

I should be on a plane to London, heading into an epic second year of college. Instead, I’m stuck on Frog Pond Mountain, tasked with supervising a horde of pubescent teens, all because I had some minor run-ins with the law.

But I came here with a plan: next weekend, I’m escaping from the boondocks and swindling my way back into civilization. Unfortunately, my brilliant plan B couldn’t foresee one small, pretty hot detail: Justin Andrews, alpha to the wolves ...

The author takes full responsibility for any camp withdrawals that may occur after reading this book. ;-)

4 Sweet YA Summer Camp Love Story" Stars

"Like everyone else, she too has to learn that not everything we wish for comes true in life. And I’m happy to be the one to teach her that particular lesson after so many years. Am I trying to settle a score with her? Well , since we’re both stuck in these woods for five weeks, it would be a wasted chance not to, right?"

What's it about? Two 19 year olds are reunited when they both become counsellors at a summer camp. Loosely based on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, this is the story of how Justin (Petruchio) tames Chloe (the Shrew) and her tempermental spirit. When she first arrives at the camp she is spoilt, angry, and determined not to participate in any way (lest it ruin her nails or jeopardize her summer tan). However, Justin looks past Chloe's 'social status', demands that she earn her privileges, treats her based on how she behaves, and challenges her at every (rebellious) turn. And so the two engage in a battle of wills which ultimately changes them both forever.

The best bits: I loved Justin. In many ways he was just as stubborn as Chloe but he was also able to understand her like no one else could. I loved how he would swoop in and hijack her plans to relax and slack off. The many hijinks here were also very funny and entertaining. From Zumba to paintball to kidnapping and espionage, Justin and Chloe were both unfailingly entertaining.

The worst bits: The ending was rather bland. And rushed. And unworthy of the character's growth and development throughout the book. I felt that Chloe, in particular, didn't do enough, sacrifice enough, to deserve the ending. I guess I just wanted more from her in the end.

Also, while this is a spin-off from the Grover Beach Team series, and essentially a stand-alone read, there is a lot of reference to the high school years, particularly in regard to the two main characters. Reading the whole series in order therefore, is probably the best way to go.

Recommended for: Fans of well-written YA romance, especially if you like a fiesty heroine who is brought to task by a demanding hero. I loved the setting here too... the summer camp was a fantastic backdrop to this version of a classic tale!

Taming Chloe Summers made a great transition from the Grover Beach Team series to this slightly more adult story. I've been waiting to read about Justin Andrews's love story since his first appearance as Ryan Hunter's best friend. And though Chloe was selfish and catty in the previous series, she showed enough vulnerability that I hoped she would have her happy ending. I honestly didn't expect their stories to merge but I'm so glad they did. The chemistry between them was strong and loads of fun to read. The summer camp setting provided a sense of nostalgia that made it easy to understand how old feelings could be stirred up (though I spent more than a few pages appalled at the camp's lack of planning and responsible adult supervision) and the alternating POV gave me insight into both characters so that I was completely emotionally entrenched. Furthermore, their love did not just depend on their history and our trust in the author's word that what they had was love. Their history was just one part to the puzzle while the close camp quarters, a myriad of bonding experiences, and a slow build of emotional and sexual tension made their love feel real. Finally, the end was surprisingly satisfying without being ridiculously cliche though maybe not as indulgent as I would have liked. (Yes, I hear the hypocrisy in my words.) Hopefully, this is not the last we will see of these characters and their friends.

“Taming Chloe Summers” by Anna Katmore
5 out of 5 stars
“Taming Chloe Summers” is a shiny new jewel in a sea of New Adult books that are dull in comparison. As a spinoff / continuation of the Grover Beach series it doesn’t disappoint long-time fans and also serves as a potential starting point for those new to the series. It is insightful, sharp, and sexy in such a subtle quiet way that it will leave you breathless for more. Every page turn will pull you farther into the story and allow you to become a part of the love story as it unfolds.
Justin is an unexpected surprise. Katmore is a pro at crafting her male leads in a way that has the reader acknowledging their hotness but focusing more on the exciting stuff going on inside. Justin is no exception. I never once doubted his great looks or his amazing body, but I was more drawn to his sensitivity, his strength, his leadership, and his command of every scene he was in. He is the perfect balance for Chloe and was everything I wanted him to be.
I’ll be honest and say that, in previous books, Chloe was one of my least favorite characters. In this addition to the series Katmore has taken a secondary character, brought her to the forefront, and given her more depth than I would have thought possible. Chloe has so much more going on under the surface and as we are given glimpses of what makes her tick it begins to change your perspective of her actions in those previous books. She easily becomes a heroine worth investing in and cheering for.
This book is a game-changer for the Grover Beach series. As these characters grow, so does Katmore’s skills. Most authors wouldn’t have taken a risk with a tried and true format. Instead, she recognizes the untapped potential stories that can be found as they traverse adulthood. Her own potential as an author continues to expand and here she truly shines. Katmore does an excellent job of making her characters smoking hot and near perfect without losing the qualities that make then authentic and real. The true meat of the story lies in their flaws and that is what will keep you coming back for more.
I’m happy to have revisited this group that has become one of my favorites. With each new book Anna Katmore releases she seals her spot as one of my most beloved authors. Now I can’t wait to see what move Katmore makes next!
**FYI – If you haven’t read the previous books in the series…don’t let that stop you. This book can absolutely be read as a continuation of the original series OR as the first book in a spinoff series. In case you are curious – the previous books are definitely worth the time and money!
HAPPY READING!!!

I really enjoyed Taming Chloe Summers. It had all the charm and page turning quality of the other Grover Beach Team books, but with a more grown up romance.

Chloe has a past. She crashed her car, drunk, when her cousin started dating the boy she had a crush on. Now she has to finish working off her community service before getting her driving license back and going to London to study drama. She thought she could get away without doing it, so is left with no choice but to clock up some intensive hours by working as a summer camp counsellor. She plans to turn up for two week, then bail when her hours were done. But she wasn’t banking on Justin, the only boy she’d ever been in love with, the boy she’d betrayed a long time ago.

Chloe is an edgier heroine than the others in the series. Having encountered her as an unpleasant character in the earlier books, I enjoyed seeing what made her tick. It was also nice to see a different side to her.

This book is aimed at an older audience than the other books.

I really enjoyed the story. Anna Katmore is one of my favourite authors for sweet, page turning romance, and this book didn’t disappoint. This whole series makes great summer reading.

I really enjoyed this! I hated Chloe so much during her high school years but seeing her like this just proves that everyone can change. Kinda sad that there is no more Groover Beach people to follow anymore but was happy with this whole series

Taming Chloe Summers

I enjoyed reading this book, but was not invested in the characters. Chloe was a troubled bitch from the other books in this series. Justin was barely mentioned other than being Ryan Hunter's BFF. The ending was also kind of abrupt. They are nowhere near the serious boyfriend-girlfriend stage I guess?

Also Vorsicht: absolute Suchtgefahr!

TOP!

This was a hard tie for my favorite in the series! I almost didn't read it because of the other books in the series almost being a duplicate and I wasn't sure if I should go forward or just stop, I'm glad I continued.
Chloe was hard to like in the other books and this helped you see that she has a suppressed vulnerability that she hides through her rough exterior. Justin knows how to push the right button to crack her shell.

There is a serious problem with first-time characters being difficult to deal with so that, at a later point in time, they have their moment of redemption.
That's exactly what happens to Chloe Summers.
In the first few books of the series, Chloe is that pretty girl who uses all her charm to get things her way, and when that doesn't happen, a tsuname can ensue.
With the arrival of her cousin, Samantha Summers, Chloe feels that there is finally a competition going on (even if that's not Sam's way of being), and something very serious happens.
Now, because of the mistakes of the past, Chloe is unable to go to London with her best friends, to study at a famous school of Dramatic Art. First, she needs to prove to justice that her behavior is model, and pay for hours of community work.
With little time to put the hours together, she is assigned to be one of the counselors at a summer camp. But she didn't expect to meet Justin again, the boy she fell in love with and had a great time at that same camp.
However, Justin had serious reasons for wanting to keep his distance from Chloe.
The question is, will they be able to keep their distance from each other?

It took me hella long to finish this book. It wasn't because it was bad or anything but just because it wasn't that interesting. From the first few pages I pretty much had it figured out. Chloe is a complete brat who is undeserving of everything that is handed to her. She's so mean and selfish and Justin continuously points that out but yet here he is falling for her. I guess I couldn't really invest my time with these characters because I hadn't read any of the other books and I never plan to. I feel like even though there were some funny parts, my biggest problem was Chloe's attitude at camp. You're at this place where you have to work, but yet you're not working. And then you're having sex at camp?! As an adult???!!!! I don't know why but that rubbed me the wrong way most of all.

Fall for Chloe Summers

Aww, so bitter sweet to read the final book about the young lovers origining from Grover Beach.
Chloe might have been the root of a lot of trouble for many of the kids, but at long last she finds herself and perhaps love too.
I love books like these where each tell the story of one couple where the characters from other books makes their appearance.
Compared to the Grover Beach Team books and book 1 in the Fall For Me series, we leave the YA theme a little behind, moving into New Adult territory with a bit more heat.
Still, I highly recommend this book to lovers of YA/NA. It has all the feels in it for sure.

Sweet Summer Romance

This was my first book by Anna K atmore and I was not disappointed.
I had been reading more adult books but decided to cool things down a bit.
This was the perfect book. It was full of teenage angst and hormonal outbursts.
Loved that the "bad boy" character was flipped to a female role.
Lots of funny moments as well as tense sexual tension moments.
Loved the ending. I believe it would make a great movie for Netflix.
I am downloading the first book in this series and I can't wait! Kudos to Anna Katmore!!

Didn't like the guy.

He wanted to completely change the girl. He constantly slut shamed her and apparently girls who wear makeup are "too much". Must have been why he didn't like Lesley.

Ironic how he apparently casually humiliated her in public but it's a sin when the tables were turned on him.

This was a good book. Only grouse I had from the FMC was that she never went no-contact with the bitch from high-school who played the catalyst to her breakup with the MMC all those years ago.

Also, the last chapter was meh :/ (This comes after their HEA ending though)
