It begins in the 1960s-an unimaginable series of political machinations leading to one act of greed and destruction after another, until in the twenty-first century, the world faces a single, global dictator. Behind the takeover is an odd, yet frighteningly effective, alliance of international governments and inner-city gangs. Lining up against the tyrannical forces are three men, each committed to exposing the fifty-year-old conspiracy, and together capable of mounting an undeniably formidable resistance. If they succeed, the world has a chance. If they fail, the world is doomed to the prospect of a "Fourth Reich." The key to the world's future is The Thor Conspiracy . Previously published by Nelson Books, The Thor Conspiracy has sold 50,000 copies.
In this fast-paced thriller set in the not-so-distant future, the world is in the clutches of an alliance of governments, poised to install a single, global dictator.
When an EPA intern uncovers evidence of a massive political cover-up involving a nuclear testing project called THOR, he turns the documents over to his supervisor, Dale Crawford - and then dies under mysterious circumstances. As Crawford struggles to put the pieces together - and stay alive himself- he enlists the help of two others who are committed to exposing the truth before the THOR Conspiracy brings a malevolent superpower into being.

As a sequel I thought this book lacked some in development and didn't quite live up to the quality of The Illuminati. Regardless, it was still an excellent read with a quite unique concept for historical events.
Neither The Illuminati nor The Thor Conspiracy have aged well. I enjoyed them in the 1990s when I first read them, but on a second read this year I was both amused and disappointed by the poor writing (Burkett uses the phrase "he could care less" when it should be "he could not care less" as well as other common grammar errors) and outlandish plot.
Overall a great read. A little hard for me to get into it in the beginning. It has to do with our government and, of course, not everyone was honest. At times, I found it scary to think maybe our government could turn out the way it was in this book. Check it out! Let me know what you think.
Environmentalist have taken over the US government and society and America is no longer a world power. A 50 year old coverup regarding the ozone layer threatens to expose the environmentalist culture and power.
This was a very interesting book. If we aren't carefully, this could actually happen to the USA and the world. People need to really question the actions of its governing body and not just go along with their programs.
Enjoyed The Illuminati better...this one seemed a little anticlimactic to me at the end, but still a fun government conspiracy thriller...made me want to read up a little more on global warming :)
Lots of interesting tie ins to current events although it was written 15 years ago. Good plot; tho' very "convenient" wrap up, and not the most intriguing prose I've ever read.
