Patricia Amble #2

Kill Me If You Can

Patricia Amble might be down, but she's not dead--yet. As if she didn't already have enough questions about her mother's suicide, Tish is forced to confront one more. She is renovating a northern Michigan log cabin, one in which she spent her childhood summers. But what she finds doesn't speak of carefree vacations in the a torn photo of her mother with the words "don't ask why" written across her face. Combined with mysterious relatives and a backwoods drug ring, this 26-year-old mystery may be more than she can handle. Tish must put the pieces all together or risk losing everything--including her life. Book 2 in the Patricia Amble Mystery series, Kill Me If You Can is a suspense-packed story of family secrets, long-distance romance, and the renovation of the heart.

A woman moves to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to her childhood hometown to flip a house. When she arrives, everyone in the small town remembers her parents a little too well. Someone left a photo of her mother and a warning for her to find.

That never works.

Not bad, but not particularly memorable.

This is the 2nd book in the Patricia Amble series, and it was just as good as the first. Less 'renovation' talk and more drama, life saving and shoot-em-up-bang-bang. The best part is that even though it's way over the top in details and mob-drama, Nicole Young makes all the details connect in a believable, sensible way. I'm looking forward to the last book in the series up next, but am going to be sad to say goodbye to Tish. Such a great character, I'll definitely be looking forward to finding other books by Nicole Young.

Oh my goodness!! This boom definitely kept me on the edge of my seat! I enjoyed this one more than I did the first book of the series. There were lots of twists and turns that I didn't expect and the ending had me mentally biting my nails . I couldn't get to the ending fast enough. I'm hoping that the way the author ended this book leaves room for my hopes of the next boom to come to fruition. I would love to see a happy ending for Tish with everything she has had to endure in her life.

I agree with Jody. Tish needs to get a big dose of self confidence. Also, her newfound trust in God isn't growing much. Once again she runs instead of staying with the people who mean most to her. I do intend to read the last one but I hope she gets it together by the end.

I haven't read the first in the series but I enjoyed this one. It was interesting to unravel the mystery with Tish's family.

This is the second book in the Patricia Amble Mystery series. I loved this book and it was my preferred book so far of the series up until the ending. I stayed up late to finish the book with eyes wide in disbelief of all that unraveled in the end. Upon reading the last page I burst into tears and threw the book to the ground. If I were friends with the author we would NOT be on speaking terms right now! haha I even stayed up later to start into the third book in hopes that this "horrible ending" could somehow be salvaged in the third book..... The outcome of the third book will definitely have a direct effect on my review of this one. Right now, I remain hopeful.

I'm a bit dubious about the author's memory of what went on in the first book. Still, Tish's adventure on the Upper Peninsula in Michigan while fixing up her old family lodge, is awesome. Living near the shores of Lake Michigan myself, I love her descriptions of the lake and understand her attachment. The ending of this book, however, is confusing and obviously wants the reader to go on. As I read the ending, I hoped that the last book in this series (since book #3 was published in 2009 and is clearly the last in the series) will wrap up all the loose ends. Since I'm so anxious to go on and find out the ending, I'm clearly enamored of this series!

I love this series, mostly because of the main character, Tish Amble, who seems to always find herself in situations that force her to walk a very thin line between right and wrong, moral and immoral and even legal and illegal. It is amazing to follow how her really normal life gets turned upside down, because of the family she was born into, and problems from a past that is not even hers catch up with her at every turn. And still through all the turmoil and mayhem, she somehow manages to find her way. Love the series. Cudos to the author.

I just finished the book and I loved it!!! There is a cliffhanger at the end so I can't wait until the new one comes out on February 1, 2009. :) It was a little slow to start out but it got so good toward the end that I can wait to get my hands on the 3rd in the series. I hope Nicole Young does not stop writing.

Loved this one too! Its turning out to be a great series! My only complaint is that Tish seems to be stuck on always looking down on herself and her circumstances. Wish she would just get over it arleady! Lots of us have had hard lives and aren't wallowing in it. We grew up and got over it and went on with life!

Finish this book in one day. a record for me!
I did enjoy the story but after reading half of the book, i decide to read the dialog only. Tish, the main character seems to have a very low self esteem. She cried almost every time the mention of her mother & that kinda make me angry. haha..
If you dont like some draggy & too descriptive writing, this is not the book for you.

I liked this book more that the first in the series. Maybe because I "know" the characters this time around. The author leaves a lot of loose ends hanging in this book, in my opinion, but I still liked it. Looking forward to the next one.

Heavy religious tones. I don't have a problem with them in general but they really have to go with plot and character and not just make it seem like an event in the book is placed only there so a lesson on faith can be given.

Compared to the first book, I really enjoyed it. You got to meet her entire family and you were able to understand more about her and her past with her family. The end was most definitely surprising. It made me wonder what was going to happen in the next book.

A good mystery with a hint of Christianism. I enjoyed that it was clean, yet real life. I am looking forward to reading more of Nicole Young's books.

Murder mystery, second in a series. Entertaining, but not the greatest book I've ever read. Due to my have-to-finish personality, I'll probably read book three as well!

This book kept me guessing! I thought I had things figured out, and then she would add another twist. I didn't like the ending, but I am sure the author will redeem herself in the third book.
