As a huge fan of the Andy Griffith show I am familiar with the names Winked, Blynken, and Nod but I did not know the poem from whence they came. I am glad to have found it. And to have found the poems of Eugene Field written for children. My favorite in this collection is Child and Mother but I really did love every one of them. Also, the biography of Field, notes to both children and parents, and glossary offered by the publisher are superb as are the illustrations that accompany each poem. I am so thrilled to have this as part of my collection!

My favorite is "Tippy-Toe and Pitty-Pat". I have to memorize at least this from the compilation. So many favorites--- this just can't be beat.

My little girls are loving Eugene Field's poems. It's becoming our favorite to read at bedtime. These are "stories" that will make bedtime one of the most beautiful memories from their childhood.
