I love this book, some of my favourite kids' poetry of all time. Timeless, hilarious, and great views into the life of children, and being a parent. With the occasionally very poignant poems, would work great for LKS2 or KS1 to look at poems.

This is a fantastic and often hilarious collection of poems from the 2007-2009 Children’s Laureate. I think these poems could be enjoyed and appreciated by children of all ages, as well as adults. Many of the poems are about the trials and tribulations of growing up, including sibling relationships, friendships and school. Whilst reading this collection, I laughed out loud several times, for example during ‘Australia’, ‘The Nest’ and ‘Trousers Down’. Other poems were actually quite moving – ‘Harrybo’ and ‘Leosia’ – in particular, and changed the tone of the collection somewhat. I found that many of the poems seemed very personal to Michael Rosen as they appeared to relate to his own childhood experiences, as well as the experiences of his own children growing up with him as their father.
