I won’t kneel for anyone, especially not that filthy prince.

It was like a dream when the crown prince of Starkland flew me and my family out to his castle. We thought it was just another vacation, but of course the prince had other plans.

He goes by Trip, and he’s one filthy a-hole. He’s a notorious bad boy and jaw-droppingly handsome, as much as I hate to admit it.

And I slapped him across the face the first time we met.

Just because he’s royalty, doesn’t mean he can whisper dirty things in my ear!

I don’t want anything to do with that cocky jerk. He talks to me like I’m a servant, and it drives me crazy. He wants me to be his princess and demands I wear nothing but his crown.

Now I’m stuck, practically a prisoner in his castle. Who knows if I’ll ever get home.

Or if I really want to leave . . .

Royal Rock is very over the top, incredibly steamy, and features some very dirty language. It’s only recommended for audiences 18+.

Royal Rock is a standalone, full-length novel. No cliffhanger. Guaranteed HEA.

2*

We have:
1. A 20 yo American with permanently soaking-wet underwear and dripping pussy (try pantie-liner dear)
2. A sewer-mouth, smirking king with a bad-boy image and a royal cock (he even mentions his own "muscular chest")
3. A country with an anti-monarchy rebellion as a plot device.
4. A villain so ridiculous I was getting sea-sick from all the eye- rolling.
5. " F..k, I am so close" she gasped."So f..ing close. Please, Trip. F..k me"
"I am your f..ing king now" I whispered to her."I am your f...ing" king and you're going to come for the king" - type dialogue.

2* is purely for the promising beginning, the rest is bleh.

I couldn’t get into this book. I tried, I really did. The constant references to “soaking wet panties”, got on my nerves. What is wrong with this woman’s vagina, it was like a tap that couldn’t be shut off.
Not for me, but I’m sure others will enjoy

This is a fantastic and intriguing book to read, it really grabs your attention from the first page and you will not stop reading until the last page and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fascinating story. The story is about Bryce Koch, a feisty, take no nonsense female, who has some royal blood in her as the family came to America some 500yrs ago from Starkland. Bryce does not know that she has basically been imported to be the future bride of Prince Chistophe Wernhild the Third (aka Trig) who is a cocky, arrogant man with a dirty mouth and mind and has his eyes firmly on Bryce, determined to take Bryce as his bride. What you will find in this story is a pending civil war, assassins, abduction, action, a obnoxious stepmother, a feisty American woman, a handsome filthy mouthed prince, betrayal, guns blazing, bomb exploding, drama, suspense, intrigue, emotional feelings, falling in love, heart pounding erotic scenes and romance with a HEA. The story-line, plot and scene description is well thought out and written. The main characters are well developed with emotional feelings of desires, needs, and fears. I would definitely recommend this book to people that enjoy reading this kind of book. You will not be disappointed.

Ms. Hamel needs to stop packaging stories with similar plot lines in the same bundle. I read PRINCE BILLIONAIRE right before this book, and it was like reading the same story but set in a different dimension.

Almost the same characters, the same political intrigues, the same assassination attempts, the same sex on the battlements...

The sex was boring. It read like a middle schooler just learned a bunch of filthy words and linked them together to make himself sound like a grown up.

1000 STARS. 5 STARS DOESN'T'’T DO THIS BOOK JUSTICE.

BB Hamel is a DYNAMO when it comes to writing bad boy romance novels. She truly knows how to work a bad boy and make him believable and make you want him!!! It is hard to read her books sometimes because of the AMAZING SEX scenes (oh yea, you get hot and bothered, BAD). I loved the story-line and how the characters worked with it, even the minor characters were awesome. She grabs you at the beginning of the book and then you are hooked, and will not put it down till you are done. This book just did me in. It was TOTALLY AWESOME. Trip made me want to jump in the book and get Bryce out of the way!!!  This book will be recommended to mature readers 18 years of age or older because of the explicit sexual content. You do not want to miss this book.

Christophe Werner von Brunhild, Third Prince of the Lowlands and Right King of Starkland prefers to be called “Trip”. Before being crowned King he was a notorious bad boy, He could do whatever he wanted. His brother Leo was King before him and the people loved Leo, and they weren’t ready to accept Trip when Leo was killed. He is over 6-foot-tall, handsome, cocky, and a devilish royal asshole. He still carries his bad boy attitude, but he runs Starkland with pride and ambition. Now the ministers want him to get married and produce an heir so that the crown will not be in jeopardy. When he meets Bryce Koch for the first time he is surprised, not only at her curvy body, but her spirit as well. He just couldn’t resist, to lean over and whisper in her ear, “Welcome to Starkland. Call me Trip. I can’t wait to see what that beautiful ass looks like in a pair of panties.” (direct quote from book.) But he didn’t expect the reaction he got from her. Instead of falling all over him, she slaps him. She was the first person to stand up to him and that showed him that she had spine. There was nothing he wanted more than a woman with fire and spirit. Now the chase is on. He is bound and determined to have her. Will Trip get his Queen Bryce? Or will they both wind up dead since there is so much danger lurking in the shadows of the castle?

Bryce Koch is 21 and making her first trip to Starkland, a country she never knew existed. She, her father, and step mother were invited to visit the country of Starkland by the King because she had Starkland royalty in her blood through he daddy’s side of the family. With this royal blood they figured she would be a good match for the King. Bryce was not told why she was in Starkland other than a trip to visit what use to her family’s. She had no idea that when she stepped off the airplane her whole life was about to change and it would boil down to her slapping the King of Starkland. She later finds out striking royalty carries the death penalty. She felt she was justified in slapping him because what he said to her was inappreoarte. She believes him to be filthy asshole and a cocky jerk. She is livid when she finds out her wants her to marry him and bear him an heir. Will Bryce marry the King? Will she ever see him as anything other than a cocky jerk?

No Spoilers. ARC free book given in exchange for an honest review.

"Nobody actually told you not to slap the king...."

What could be more intriguing than a girl from America on vacation in a foreign country to learn more about her heritage, and the first time she is introduced to the king, she slaps him? I've never read anything from this author before, and right within the first couple of pages of this book, I knew I wouldn't be able to put it down.

Bryce Koch, her father, and her step-mother are invited to Starkland so that they can learn more about their royal heritage, in what seems at first to be a way to get some good PR for the new king. A new king that up until a few months ago, was known as the Playboy Prince. Never meant to be king, Trip lived the good life--partying, tattoos, and any women he wanted. But as life tends to do, things happened that led him to becoming the new king. Now with the country being a monarchy, it needed to make sure their would be an heir--enter Bryce.

Upon the words first whispered into her ear, she immediately hates Trip, and thinks of him as a royal jerk. She wants nothing to do with him, but she is drawn to him like no other man before. He's tall, handsome with rugged features, and absolutely arrogant. The way he talks dirty to her makes her blush for wanting it, and hating him all at the same time. When she finds out the reason she's really in country, she's even more pissed. But will she kneel and submit before the king?

This was a great, steamy read! I loved the bad boy king Trip and his dirty mouth. He's getting used to his duties as king, but he can't help the way Bryce has captured his attention for more than just a fleeting few minutes. He loves that she slapped him and tells him exactly what she thinks of him, many of which includes phrases such as cocky king and royal asshole. Bryce is a strong-willed woman who has no desire to be royalty, but she loves the way she feels when Trip takes control. Plus, there is the underlying tension in the book of the country having issues with rebels that makes this book all the better. I love the hot and steamy action plus all the suspense!

I'm a firm believe that no matter what type of theme this author's book is, it will be awesome. In this one our H is Christopher Werner von Brunhild the Third, the right King of Starkland and our h is Bryce Koch.

Bryce Koch and her family have been invited to Starkland by the now ruling family. because Bryce's family once were the rulers. Bryce had no idea as her father is an accountant. Once they arrive they are introduced to Christophe Werner von Brunhild the Third, the ruling King, who whispers something dirty in Bryce's ear... She promptly slaps him.

Christophe Werner von Brunhild the Third, Prince of the Lowlands and The Right King of Starkland, is better knows as Trip. Trip had an older brother who was to be the King. Trip was always meant to be the spare, the easy going playboy. When his brother is killed in battle, Trip must take over. There is a power struggle in Starkland and Trip has brought Bryce and her family there with the intention of marrying her and her giving him the heirs he needs.

Of course, Trip's plan didn't sound good to Bryce at all and she instantly pushes back. Over time and easy banter, Bryce and Trip get to know each other and feelings do develop. Trip is a dirty mouthed, once arrogant playboy that is now struggling with being King. Bryce was an independent girl from America that saw everything from an American point of view. This book includes a civil war breaking out, an assignation attempt, a kidnapping, rescue and falling in love. It was a perfect book to get lost in.

Wow , for me Royal Rock is such a refreshing surprise , an exceptional modern erotic and sexual fairy tale . I can't believe the way B B Hamel keeps making book after book each time getting much better . I love all her stories but this one is really unbelievable- and absolutely fabulous .
You gotta love his Royal Highness Christopher Werner von Brunhild the Third, the right King of Starkland aka TRIP , who invites BRYCE , an American girl and her family ( Bryce's father is a distant relative of Starkland's royalty ) on a "vacation trip" to Starkland with the secret intention to marry her and produce an heir . Stunning Bryce is really my kind of heroine, not some girl who gets walked all over ; she even slaps King Trip in the face and does everything she can not to give into her feelings for him but it's ohh so difficult because there's King Trip , dirty mouthed bad boy with such a need to command and control and with an endless stamina.
You 'll see lot's of steam come flying out of this awesome story when you read. This is a deliciously hot and sexy book . A real page turner with an story line unlike anything I read of this author before , a royal romance that 's not all sweet and sugar neither and that's why I think it's definitely a must read !!
I 'm already eagerly looking forward to the ride B B 's next book is gonna take and surprising us with !!

Imagine finding out you are of royal lineage out of the blue and were invited by the current royals to a visit, how fast would you pack?
Bryce Koch, her father Robert and her stepmother Lucy were headed to what was to be Bryce's future husband.

Of course, not that they knew this going into their travel to Starkland, but it was a ploy to have the lineage of an old respected royal ruling family united in marriage to the current king.

Christopher Werner von Brunhild the Third, Prince of the Lowlands and the Right King of Starkland's(aka Trip) first interaction with Bryce had ended with her peeved enough to slap him.

This would begin their story to be told time and again for all time in the history of the royal ruling families.
Yes, you know they get their HEA, but amid their love story is a raging uprising of the Separatists.

Trip was never meant to be King of Starkland, he was the "spare". His days were spent galavanting, and living a devil may care existence. Is he able to be an effective King?

Bryce may have to get herself out of a sticky situation before Trip is lured to his demise....or dear heavens!

The chemistry between Trip and Bryce was Hot from the first slap and the angst, I survived.

5 Star experience and already have my second read in. The second time is the best because you can slow down and enjoy it without feeling like the faster you turn the pages the sooner they are out of danger.

Royal Rock by BB Hamel

An isolated island country, a King through circumstance and a rebel force. A girl from America who finds her ancestor’s were royalty way back. This is the backdrop to this new story from BB, quite different from her usual. We still get the arrogant, hot alpha male full of filthy language, out to get what he wants. The girl is unfiltered, she doesn’t care who he is when they first meet. With this country in turmoil and knowing somehow there are leaks in the government, they try to get time to get to know each other. I enjoyed this book reading it in one hit from start to finish, the fact it is a little different from usual made it a pleasant surprise and more interesting. There is a great story to this, almost believable country setting and the problems it is having. The descriptions of scenery and buildings were very good, you could picture them in your mind, which added to the enjoyment. I have never been disappointed by any of BB Hamel’s books, but this was quite refreshing to read in it’s difference to the usual fighter type, whether it be biker, fighter or mafia. Nothing in this not to like, we still get the hot down and dirty sex and language, sexy arrogant guy and beautiful caring girl. The bonus is this being an up to date fairy story, the girl getting her prince (or in this case King).

I want to start off by saying I love books by B. B. Hamel and this one is no exception! Royal Rock is one very fine full-length romance novel. There is an HEA and no cliffhangers. I would recommend this book to romance readers world wide, especially those who like a bad boy.

Synopsis:

Bryce recently found out she is descended from royalty. Her family have been invited to vacation at the royal palace in the country of Starkland where her ancestors ruled hundreds of years ago. When she first meets the king she slaps him in the face for whispering dirty things in her ear. The more time she spends with him though, the more attracted she becomes.

King Cristophe, better know as Trip, is a panty dropping bad boy with a filthy mouth. He is as commanding and controlling as any man of power. He's invited the descendants of the former rulers of his country to visit but he has a hidden agenda involving Bryce...

Another great read, royals and an American girl

I loved this story. Although I love most of B.B Hambel's books. I he stories are very detailed and you build a connection to the characters. I can reread her stories over and over. The scenes are hot too.
Overview. Bryce (girl), her father and step mom were heading to a small European country that was part of her families past. Many centuries ago her family ruled there, but were defeated and they moved to America. Now they are on their way back to rebuild the bond, or so Bryce thought. When she meets king Christopher aka nickname Trip, she slaps him on live tv. Trip knows right then and there that she she would be perfect for him. She was willing to take a stand against him and treat him as a normal person, not a king. But Trip needs to tell her the truth as to Why she is really there and what help him change his country. But will Bryce except what he hast to offer or will she slap him again and leave the country?

I got this book by the author for an honest review and it was four stars for me!

http://thesecretworldofbooklovers.blo...

This is a good love story that places us on a modern day fairytale, we have a king, a beautiful old fashion country, amazing castles and war.

Like all of BB’s books we get a little action for the main characters that keeps us in the edge of our seats the whole time.

The sex scenes were really good, with amazing chemistry and sexy sex-escapades.
If you dream about your prince charming this is the book for you!

Bryce is a young American Girl who is thrown on a royal adventure because of her unknown lineage and she can’t escape now.

Trip is what you would expect him to be, a smug idiot at first but then he shows us that it’s just a façade and we fall for him.

Fun and intense story, you won’t regret reading !

I had a little bit of a hard time getting into this. Part of it was the sort of over-the-top dirty-speak from Trip every time he got near Bryce. (Though I did laugh when she slapped him in public at their first meeting.) And then next thing he's being called away to deal with unrest in the country. And then more screwing. And more governing/avoiding getting killed. On the one hand, it was kinda sweet how drawn to each other they were, but it also kinda got old. Sometimes it felt like Bryce was just a booty call. But I think part of me feeling like I wasn't getting into it is that I was at around 15% and I'm wondering where the story is going to fill up the rest of this space... and then it was over at 20% and the rest of the space is apparently excerpts from other stories. Which is fine, I guess, but I'm not one to read those. :-/ So it was generally an entertaining story, generally well-edited except for a couple of homophone issues that jumped out at me.

Not my favorite Hamel book

Hamel has become my favorite romance author, but this isn't one I will re-read. It was my first "royalty smut," I have read, and I don't know if that's the problem, or I just didn't like the book. I didn't feel the chemistry, and I didn't care for Bryce. This is the first time I've read a Hamel novel that had that "copy/paste" vibe with the smut, and it wasn't as steamy as her other novels my pervy butt has enjoyed. I also felt like there was a missed opportunity with the woman his advisor thought he should marry, Victoria. She was only mentioned once, and even though the formula has been used countless times in these novels, I think it would have been a nice addition to this story. I'm a nutshell, I love Hamel, but this one didn't stick with me like almost all the others. Can't win them all.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

While I didn't LOVE the characters the way I've fallen in love with some other couples from this author, the book was still a good read. Trip is the spare now ruling Starklandia and needs an heir of his own, and Bryce's family once ruled the country before his kicked them out of power. So her family is invited back to the castle as guests of honor without her knowing what the king's true intentions are. Of course, he's gorgeous, rude and arrogant -- what hot, single prince isn't? Throw in a bit of unrest amongst the citizens, a king torn about how to handle a civil war and an American trying to deny her feelings for the man who makes her so. Angry. It's the perfect recipe for a breezy summer read!

-Unfortunately, a review that goes against the grain. The opinion is purely my own-
I'm sure this will be one of those situations where "it's not you (book), it's me". I tried going into this one with an open mind. I was coming off a good book high and I liked the premise of a girl who wouldn't sway easily and an entitled king who set his eyes upon her. The aforementioned book high was what prompted me to carry on for a good 20% of this book, but then even I didn't have the charity to continue.

I can't tell you what bothered me the most. It could have been the excessive telling, it could have been that the characters didn't stand well for themselves, or it could just have been something in the air. I can't tell you what it is. All I can tell you is that, despite the glowing reviews from so many people, this book fell flat very early on for me and it didn't get better. Disappointing, because I'm sure I read some other works by this author that I reasonably enjoyed, but it does come to a point where you must wonder how much your time as a reader is worth. Best of luck to everyone else reading!
