Months have passed since Ian Daniels and Newton Daily opened fire at Atwood High school, killing dozens of students before turning the guns on themselves.
Determined to pay tribute to her fallen classmates and teachers, Sadie’s thrown herself into the memorial project at the newly rebuilt school. But it’s not enough. Horrific dreams of the shooting intertwined with memories of the night her mother was murdered keep her up at night and haunt her during the day.
The constant stream of hate raining down on her from faceless social media trolls only make matters worse. Her boyfriend, Hayden brings the only source of relief when he sneaks in to sleep next to her on nights her dad is at work.
Desperate for normalcy, Sadie fills every waking moment of her day with anything to take her mind off her pain. If she’s exhausted, she’ll be too tired to acknowledge the new threat gunning for her.

Writing is her absolute passion, and it's her mission to create stories that will not only take you on a romantic journey that will warm your heart, but help you find a new respect and interest in the sport of All-Star cheerleading.
Elisa is no stranger to the publishing world. She writes steamy paranormal romance under her real name, Lisa Sanchez. Elisa lives in Northern California with her husband, three daughters, and a feisty Chihuahua who stubbornly believes she's human.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book as I was desperate to know how life continued after "in the after" . This book came with more great twists and storyline. Again Elisa did a great job of covering some really difficult subjects and emotions while keeping it real and heart wrenching. Would recommend for a quick but emotional contemporary read.
Oh my. How do I start this review in a proper way? It was friggin' amazing! As the first one, of course. Beneath the Void will make you cry, will make you laugh and sure as hell, it will leave you without words. If you thought that In the After was shocking, go get your copy of Beneath the Void as soon as it comes out in August! I'm pretty sure you will all love it, because... C'mon... Who doesn't love Sadie and Hayden?!?
I literally can't wait to hear your opinions!
A more detailed review will be up on my IG account (jessthebookslover) as soon as the book is released!
I feel incredibly lucky to be one of the first people to read this book. Having read the first book in this series I knew would be an emotional one . I still couldn't wait to figure out what happened with Hayden and his Ginger. Both of them went through so much in the first book that I just couldn't imagine what this incredible author had in store for them now . Elisa Dane does not disappoint though. We are in for another heart pounding emotional ride in this book and I for one loved every single second of it.
I honestly love every one of Elisa Dan's books. But this one hold the special spot. To go through what Sadie has and come around to the way she is at the ending is nothing short of a miracle. All her books are written with so much emotion and we'll researched it is great...
Book 1 was amazing, but Book 2...just wow. Elisa Dane outdoes herself yet again with beautiful writing in Beneath the Void, and a story that jumps out at you and keeps you on your toes. Another page turner I could not put down!
4.5 stars! This book was a great look at the after effects of trauma. How different people cope, and how sometimes we inadvertently push away the people we love. Sadie and Hayden are a couple that I will continue to fight for!
*I received an eARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.*
This book was as addicting as the previous one. Honestly, I loved this series. You can read my review of book 1, In the After, here.
*A little spoilery if you haven't read book 1 of this series.*
Beneath the Void picks up where book 1 left off. Sadie is still picking up the pieces of the aftermath of the shooting that left her life upside down. Not only she has to face the wrath of others for not standing up to the bullying but there's a new threat looming over her head. Will she be able to save herself this time?
I liked how the plot was executed in this book. Sadie's life is a mess as her PTSD is getting out of control and she's getting more and more hate messages from various other people and her best friend Jenna is still recovering after she got injured in the shooting. Only Hayden has her back. I liked how the author handled the storyline. It's so surprising that victims of bullying becomes bully themselves without even realizing it. And that's what exactly happened here. I was so enraged because only Sadie had to handle this shit when nobody said one word to Britt. Guess the world's unfair this way but if only everyone in the town would have come together they could have ended the bullying, or at least some action would have been taken against it.
Sadie was in a worse condition than before but I was glad when she decided to take help. But she should have told someone about the creepy messages she was receiving, that someone was stalking her. I loved Hayden as usual. He was so gentle and caring and a constant support to Sadie. And I didn't even think about the plot twist involving him but I liked how it took its turn. But Britt... Oh my God! I sooo wish I could strangle her myself, she just pretended to be a whole new person while she was planning a whole new scheme. I just hate her! Nonetheless, I loved how Sadie pushed herself and became a better person, a stronger one. I definitely would have liked to see Britt's downfall but I was satisfied the way this book ended.
Overall, Beneath the Void was a great read. The plot was interesting and I liked the character growth. I loved the romance between Sadie and Hayden. The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book.
Beneath the Void is an amazing sequel to In the After, Elisa Dane has definitely written another brilliant book. I was excited to read this to find out what happened to Sadie and Hayden after the tragic events that happened at the end of In the After, and it didn’t disappoint. Beneath the Void is a superbly written book full of emotion, hard hitting topics and great characters. Its difficult to talk about what happens in this book because I would spoil what happened in the previous book. I will try and give a plot summary of the book without spoiling anything. Beneath the Void starts a few months later on from where In the After ended and Sadie is struggling to come to terms with the events that happened. She is trying to continue her life but is finding it difficult with the memories of what happened haunting her every day. Her only ray of light within this darkness is her boyfriend Hayden, but even he might not be able to help her live her life as it was before. Elisa Dane has written an amazing sequel and developed the characters even more than she did with the first book. Its great to delve into the mind of Sadie more and by the end of this book you do come away knowing a lot more than, which makes her very relatable. There is some Hard topics covered and Elisa Dane manages to write about them beautifully but also with detail. I have read some books that touch on some of the topics featured in this book, but they don’t really go into detail. Here Elisa explains and writes from the heart when talking about these topics and you can definitely see that when reading the book. Beneath the Void will have you in many different emotions when reading, you will go from laughing to crying, you will go from not being able to put the book down, to wanting to put down to take in what you have just read. I loved this book even more than the first because I already knew all the characters and it was easy to just jump straight back into the world again. But I also loved this book because it wasn’t shy or scared to speak from the heart and tell the truth. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed In the After, because you really need to read this book if you did. But I would also recommend this book to any new readers who wants to read a book about topics that aren’t talked about enough in detail or not talked about at all. Beneath the Void has a range of brilliant developed characters who you can relate to in a second. Obviously check out the first book before reading this though. My review for the first book in the series, In the After, can be found here.
I rate this book 5/5 stars. ***I was sent a copy of this book by the Author to review. Everything in this review is my own honest opinions.***
DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this book from Swoon Romance in exchange for honest review, for a blog tour.
Anyways, Ruined picks up where Caged leaves off. Sadie is struggling after two of her classmates are the cause of a massive shooting at her high school. She and Hayden are going strong, and he is her rock. But lately he seems to be . . . not himself.
Sadie's health is depleting. She is neglecting herself; forgetting to eat and not drinking enough liquids. On top of that, one of the AE (Atwood Elites) Britt is suddenly her friend? o.O Something fishy about that, but Sadie decides to try and help Britt. She knows how she is feeling.
Sadie keeps receiving creepy text messages and notes from a . . . I suppose we can call him a stalker. As if being on edge from the school shooting were not making Sadie paranoid enough.
This book brings to light the aftermath of what extremes can come out of bullying and other violence.
It was so hard for me to read this, but I loved ever moment of it. At one point, I just knew what was coming. I just knew it and I couldn't stop crying. And then, everything fell into place. At first I was worried because the author wrote the final chapter a certain way that had me believing one thing, but then it was something else and I was so relieved. Elisa Dane's writing is tear-jerking-amazing.
Beneath The Void is an incredibly amazing sequel to the first book in The Fighting Chance series and I’m even more in love with the series than I was before, if that’s even possible.
I loved every single chapter of the book, and i know I say this a lot, but I promise, I do really mean it. The book is great and I loved how we get to know Saddie’s story and the fact that she dealt we everything in the wrong way proves she’s human. The characters felt so real i was truly worried for Saddie and couldn’t be happier when she decided she needed help. And I also liked Alicia, she seemed really nice. I loved Hayden even more, I did not think that possible, yet here I am. He’s so caring, putting Saddie above everything. Clearly, boyfriend goals. I really like the way Elisa Dane writed the books, both of them. It is a teenager language and considering it is written in first person, I thought it very appropriate. Plus, it was a really easy and light read for me even if English isn’t my first language. Considering it is a light read it is perfect for an evening after a though day, even if you can read it honestly at any moment. Contemporary lovers won’t want to miss such and amazingand enjoyable book.
Beneath the Void is a highly emotional and frankly honest read.
Beneath the Void picks up where book 1, In the After, ends. Sadie is throwing herself into work and a memorial project to honor the victims of the shooting. She's doing anything she can to deal with the grief and guilt she feels. She relies on Hayden, her uber-supportive and super-awesome boyfriend. He is concerned, but stands by her through it all, supporting her and loving her.
I think the thing I liked about this book most is the honesty and frankness Elisa Dane uses in writing this story. Unfortunately, the plot is not fiction. School shooting have happened and continue to be a real threat. I appreciate the way Dane takes care to add reality to the book. Sadie is clearly feeling Survivors' Guilt, which is a real thing. Dane does not shy away from the difficult topics and that is what makes this book stand out.
Along with all of the above, the relationship between Sadie and Hayden is really sweet.
This is not a standalone and book 1 should be read first.
A fantastic YA read that I highly recommend!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Another great story. Sadie irritates me with her unwillingness to let people know what's going on, especially with what happened to her mom- but it's been a long time since I was a 17 year old girl, so maybe I would've done the same? Idk. And Hayden.... poor sweet strong loyal Hayden... My heart bleeds for him, but how was Sadie so self-centered she didn't notice?
