A gorgeously illustrated book on the art of Montmartre from the late 1880s through the very first years of the twentieth century. Contains a few essays on various aspects of the history and life of Montmartre with a few on specific artists. A few dozen quick artists biographies round out the book. In a flap on the back cover, there is a large, fold-out map of Montmartre with landmarks and artist studios marked.

I loved it ! Montmartre presented in its utmost realistic way and I also found out some not-so-popular details about the artists there . Very good sources and references and the fact that there were some unknown prints in the book was as well pleasing ^_^.
