"Wife Wanted" is the story of Natalie and Rick. Natalie Fortune is getting over a bad relationship, and decides to take a small vacation in her "late" grandmother Kate's ancestoral home with her dog Bernie- while it is being rented to outsiders. The new tenants happen to be Rick and his small son Toby, who has been refusing to speak after witnessing a tragic accident. Soon Bernie and Natalie are able to pull Toby out of his shell, and make the estranged father and son reconnect. But as attraction sparks between Natalie and Rick, she tries to ignore it (unsuccessfully) because of her past record with men- but fate has other plans.. There is a second story and update regarding Jake, Erica and Monica (Which will make sense if you've read the series in order, which I did)- and I cannot wait to read more. Personally, I was a bit annoyed by the heroine and she definitely wasnt my favorite. The hero and his son were likable, the dog adorable and Kate as endearing as ever. Average read. Safe 2.5/5
The domestic scenes were lovely and sweet. I thought the book’s premise was a nice way of making it seem plausible that two single people who don’t know each other would live together. I also really appreciate that the end of the book falling out was not unnecessarily dragged out.
I was not expecting that twist in the overarching story of the series. I was shocked lol.
