W.J. is an avid athlete, writer, backpacker and shooting enthusiast. He currently resides with his wife and daughter in Central Michigan.
I developed the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot series from notes and ideas I had put together while deployed to Afghanistan. I had been jokingly asked how we would defend against a zombie attack.
I wanted to tell a story that portrays the military that I know, that displays our actual capabilities. These are my thoughts, I hope you enjoy them, and thank you for reading.
The long anticipated ending is finally here. The battle for humanity is reaching the culmination as groups are torn apart but are far from beaten. Jacob has been drawn into the battle not only because he was given no choice; fight with the resistance or he and his family would be sent to a camp where survival could not be guaranteed. Of course there was no choice so he joins and he fights. Unfortunately a new threat has entered as the real cause of the Deltas is learned. A enemy, the creator of the Deltas has arrived and they are giving no one a choice (possible spoiler), put your weapons down and live or fight back and die. After all they do need servants to assist. The fight is intense and Jacob finds he has a new mission, locate his family because they have now been taken and she is and Katy are to be forced into a communal group. There is so much more to the Aliens that have arrived with different hierarchy among them although the major players are not really seen or even heard from since they use 'Messengers' who appear to be just as much prisoners as humans. The ending is anticlimactic and felt like it was rushed because we learned only a small portion about the main invading force. But is is a good read, the fighting scenes are intense and will keep you glued to it. But there are still, in my opinion, too many questions and not enough answers. Maybe it should have another trilogy to explain more about the aliens, their home world, where they came from although why are here is explained briefly. I honestly don't see this as the end but perhaps a new beginning for Jacob and Laura and the remnants of humanity. Or at least I am hopeful it will be. And I am actually looking forward to the Audible.
Lundy ends this series with a bang. The Assassins, the remaining members of Alpha squad and other resistance fighters are in the fight of their lives. Many around the world have surrendered and send messages for everyone to stop fighting and end hostilities but Jacob, Rogers, James, his trusty dog Duke and many others say "Screw You!". The characters in this series are so well written they feel like family and friends and you pray for them throughout the book. There are hard losses but also many "HELL YA!' moments. You find out a lot more about the aliens and what their end game in this invasion is. The battles in this book are intense and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I'm sorry to see this series end but look forward to reading more of Lundy's work. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who loves the military/horror genre.
In this book is the truth of the spirit of the American service personal and its people we don't bow down to the enemy who ever they may be other countries or space invasion with will stand and fight for freedom as these folks did a must read of human gumption in face of a larger force
ALIEN ZOMBIES HAVE A FIGHT ON THEIR HANDS, THEY DO...
Hello, Mr. Lundy writes really good stories. This tale is a fine specimen. I think it needed about 1 or 2 more books to fully finish the story. The ending seemed a little rushed and just kinda cut off. Very good story, though. Thanks.
Wow. This series starts one way and gets turned on it's head in a whole War of the Worlds type way in this one. Not lacking imagination or creativity, this book again delivers on all most fronts, slightly losing focus half way through.
Well fellow readers, I have to say, I really enjoyed binge reading this series. I read it slowly and savored every scene because I didn't want to miss a thing. What I liked the most is Jacob Laura's story. Ordinary people and watching them slowly change to survive in their new world. They did what was needed to not only help themselves but to help others without the drama. (Don't tell the author but it was just like a romance novel.)
Another plus was Duke. 🐩
Quasi-spoiler: The thing that stuck out in my mind and what is suggested in Agenda 21/The United Nations master plan. Excellent quote..... “You know, I’ve been thinking about this since day one. The meteorites, the Day of the Darkness; that was just to soften us up, make us weak and destroy our defenses, get us to tighten up behind walls. Hell… and that’s exactly what we did, just like they expected us to. We consolidated our forces, our people.”
The assassins did some major alien ass kicking in this book! Jacob, James, Roger, and Duke are once again on the front lines fighting the aliens. We finally get look at the alien invaders who have made the Delta’s and it’s not looking good. I really enjoyed reading this series and if you like alien invasion, zombie, or survival books then you’ll enjoy The Invasion Trilogy.
I don't like zombie or alien type books. I have this one a chance. After the characters were introduced to me i couldn't stop reading. I wanted Jacob to wake up. It's like he could not come to grips. A lot of action which kept drawing on from one book the next. It's a good read. It also simulates some deep thinking of one day we truly wake-up to an invasions of one form or another.
This is a surprising story that really is daring in it's telling! The characters are memorable and loveable so when one is killed you feel the loss of their character. The arch of the story where things and people from the first and second books show up in this third with a reminder of where our heroes have come from to get where they are now. When a writer can cause tears and blow stuff up while chasing bad aliens I am all in!!
The first two books blew me away. And while i finished this one in two days I was left very meh about the ending. It was pretty open ended. I'm hoping more comes out to tie everything until but since it is a trilogy the chances are slim. Curses!
Very interesting story line , it keeps you glued to the books . And the action is very intense . The aliens are very believable, their motives quite clear . Great read !
This was a great series to read. Although I’m not a big fan of alien invasion sci-fi, this was very thought provoking. The plot leads you to think deeper about UFO sightings and stories and other “unexplainable” issues.
I'll start by saying I don't usually read books with aliens in them. But this series by WJ Lundy was fantastic ! The main characters was awesome, fighting for survival the whole way. Definitely a book/series to put on your "must read" list !
Good series. Still struggling, but with a difference
It seems even alien societies have different levels and classes. You expect advanced aliens to have moved on and equalized all people, but this book shows that this isn't necessarily so. Who's advanced now?
This is a fast paced read that I really liked! After having read Whisky Tango Foxtrot, I thought I would try another do Mr. Lundy’s series.....the Invasion Trilogy does not disappoint!
This was a satisfying finish to the series and I enjoyed every page eager to get into the next chapter, I liked the characters and the set pieces between the opposing forces overall I was happy that I chose this series because I really did enjoy it.
Awesome storyline. I really enjoyed the entire series. I would definitely recommend this book to any apocalyptic reader. A+ for no crazy misspelled words lol.
This is the third & final book in the series. Action packed till the end with several twists thrown in makes this a book you won’t be able to put down. Loved the ending 😍
Great zombie tale with an alien invasion twist. The story developed over the three books and I was hooked into the story. The characters were a bit confusing and it was often hard to develop a connection to them. This series could clearly be extended to another series; and an end(?) to the human/Karinian war. The military life/tactics/battlespeak/weapons systems were good and easy for a civilian to follow.
Alright, this final book didn't resolve things and left things in a manner that I wasn't crazy about. Overall, the book was good. Lots of action. When Jacobs family is taken by the enemy and shoved into a commune, it's a race to learn what these things are and why they are here and how they can rescue the city Italians. Despite some claims, we really didn't learn everything. Who are the Creators? What I don't understand is with their orbs and bombs, why didn't they just bomb the "insurgents" instead of sending emissaries? I don't know. Things just didn't wrap up satisfactorily for me. Too many unanswered questions and in the end not believable. This was a race that was not going to be stopped until they owned the earth. So why did they? I just didn't feel like this was answered to my satisfaction. I felt like we could have fought back better. Maybe with a virus. Overall the series was really good. Just not sold on the ending. Maybe he left it open for further stories?
The chemical, dioxin, believed to be fatal to the invaders worked wonders. Delivered as an aerosol it blinded them, drove them mad, and ultimately killed them. This information and the remaining supply of dioxin were delivered to the current headquarters where it was used to great effect. This unexpected development was no doubt a shock to the invaders. It appears this also accelerated the invaders time table by a new group of leaders to light who take direct control of the lesser invaders referred to as Deltas, advancing their plans by eliminating the human men and kidnapping the women and children for their needs at colonization. Jacob’s wife and daughter are rounded up with many others. Now Jacob and crew need to find out where the captives are being held and rescue them. This is a great story with wonderful well-developed characters. There is much going on with the invaders that I do not wish to spoil. Read or listen to the series, you will not be disappointed.
An awesome ending to a fantastic trilogy! W.J. Lundy keeps up the action and suspense in this sci-fi thriller.
As Jacob and his family continue to survive with their friends, a new threat approaches. As opposed to the ruthless 'Darkness', mysterious, glowing orbs begin to hover over the landscape. What will this mean for the survivors? And why are the Deltas pulling back? Nothing good, I assume.
An outstanding and heart wrenching conclusion to not only a story of challenges and tribulations, but a tale of the strength of humanity and the perseverance of family. I highly recommend this entire Invasion Trilogy. Well done!
Again I was unable to put this book down, as each turn of the page made me want to see what happened to the characters next. Well written and enjoyed the ending. Even though the family survived, as we knew they would, at least it wasn't a typical "we killed all the invaders and lived happily ever after".
