Nice story! Set in the 1880's in Colorado. Evangeline is on a manhunt!! The man she is after broke her little sisters heart and stole money from her. To find him she has to enlist the aid of a bounty hunter, J.D. Raven. Raven is part Cheyenne and part white. He is the best bounty hunter in Colorado and has no inclination to find this man that Eva wants. So what does Eva do, She tricks hima dn tells everyone she is his wife. Rut Roe!!

I really like the way the author created her characters and the supporting cast in the story.

Urrrghh. This book was something awful. I understand, it is a fictional novel, but come on, a wealthy heiress is all of a sudden training / taming a horse within a day, using weapons, surviving independently in the great outdoors... it was just a rather far fetched, slow read of a tale.

Carol Finch does it again! I don’t know what is it about half-native bounty hunters and a runaway heroine, this is probably the third Finch’s book that I’ve read with a similar premise but I just couldn’t get enough of her writing!

My first book by this author. The writing was fine, the plot totally unbelievable. But I enjoyed the bits of humor tucked among the action.

If you enjoy lively banter and snappy arguments, rush out and get a copy of this book; it will make your day. This is the story of one determined older sister who wants to find the dirty scoundrel who broke her sister’s heart and stole part of her inheritance. To do justice to the man, Eva Hallowell decides to hire the best bounty hunter – J D Raven.

There’s just one problem, JD isn't interested in her case. He just wants to grieve over his dead horse (killed in the last foray with 3 crooks), train a new horse and rest a bit. Eva figures he just needs a bit of encouragement; the next time JD sees Eva, she announces to all within hearing that she just married JD and is traveling with him. By the time JD catches his breath, they are on their way on the stagecoach.

Eva doesn't seem to realize that being married to a bounty hunter can be hazardous to one’s health. However, she finds out rather quickly when the bullets start to fly. If these two off-beat characters weren't enough, JD has a cousin, the Indian Blackowl.

If Eva and JD aren't stabbing each other with enough daggers, Blackowl stirs the pot a bit more. This is a cute, funny yarn about two outcasts who find each other (in spite of not being interested in finding a soul mate).

Fiesty, hellion, heiress on a crusade on behalf of her wronged little sister. Boldly enlisting (against his wishes) a notorious bounty hunter by posing as his wife.

The tumultuous relationship, shootings and clashes with angry men keep you alert. However, the horse training, survival skill training, developing friendships, quick wit and family are the binding parts of the novel.

Good read, a little spicy, not too gritty.

This is actually my second time reading this book and I still love it. He is a half breed as tough as they get while she is an heiress who is a man-hater. Good mix as both challenge each other and with her convincing people they are married all sorts of things can happen. She is forever causing mayhem and he is forever trying to protect her.

Harlequin is quite a hit-or-miss to me. I'm glad I started this one.
