Hello folks,
My name is Solomon Carter, and I am the author of the Roberts and Bradley PI crime thriller series, The Last Line international thriller series, the DI Hogarth Darkest series and more. I write mysteries, crime and thriller novels and more besides.

I was born in Southend, Essex and lived there for most of my life apart from eventful student days in South London. But my life in Southend was even more eventful still. I ended up working in a string of jobs including as a jobcentre clerk, a book seller, tutor for youth with low skills and low self esteem, mortgage broker, and latterly manager of a food bank which dealt with all kinds of interesting people facing all kinds of eye-opening, jaw dropping problems. Because of these ear-to-the-ground jobs the majority of my novels are set in Southend. In 2016 I moved to North Cornwall because I liked the idea of never-ending holidays - but I also write almost every single day. My aim is to write action-packed thrillers and page-turning mysteries that readers love and my hope is to get better at what I do with every book across each and every year.

I like to give away lots of free books as part of what I do. If you would like to receive some of these and get the exclusives on offer, than you're invited to join my free readers group at SolomonCarter.net. I won't spam you, just send the occassional email with news on the latest books and forthcoming freebies.

And if you want to see the memes, personal shares and other oddball stuff I do, then you can join me at Facebook via www.facebook.com/solomoncarterwrites and join the fun there too.

What I am good at: telling stories
What I am bad at: dancing, being patient.
What I love: nature, the seaside, adventures
Writers I heartily recommend: Lee Child, Ian Rankin, Henning Mankell, Val McDermid, Harlan Coben, Robert Crais.
Writers I need to read more of: Val McDermid, Ian Rankin, Michael Connelly and others.
Other things I do beside writing: at present I like to keep my running going to balance out the sitting behind a laptop (a habit inspired by Haruki Murakami's 'What I talk about when I talk about running' - a great book).
-I am currently doing surf lessons. When in Rome, as they say...
-Getting out into nature as the weather allows.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Until then I'll keep on writing. Or running. Or surfing. Or chasing my children around the house.

All the very best,
Solomon :)

if you have enjoyed any of my books, I'd be honoured if you could post a review. Those reviews really do help!

10/2014, Tehran. Ruby (20, Jenna’s sister) had been killed by Grigor Vitchek (Russian hawk).
Jenna Royal (aka Connie, ex-M16 field agent, Ms. Roberts) wanted to find those that were responsible for her murder.
Later what did Jenna confront Dylan Beck (Jenna’s ex-lover, double-agent) about?
The Spetsnaz (Russian SAS) had a mission to carry out.
New Romney. Jenna, Detective Eva Roberts (31, former PI), Bodanko (Ukrainian nationalist buddy), Harry, & Tom Barrington (former Deputy Director of Operations (DDO), were discussing their upcoming plans.

What did Lord Forbrace have that was so valuable to a lot of other foreign agents?
Fast-forward; Santiago, Chile. Tom had sent Dan Bradley, Jenna (aka Valerie Denning) & Eva on another assignment.
El Pinaculo. Valerie was to meet with Sebastian Morales (Director of Rapidotel’s Chile operation).
Mr. Oscar La Fuentes (Rapidotel International Corp. President/founder, CEO) was giving his speech to the crowd.
The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC terrorist group) had intervened.
What were their plans for Oscar?
Vadim Asanenko (FSB agent) had Ozerov (hacker) tap into Rapidotel encrypted database & the bank account.

A $637 million transfer ought to do it.

There was more: SANTIAGO, VALPARAISO, & SANTA CRUZ.

What about Oscar La Fuentes (tech entrepreneur)?
What are the demands on Commandante Poco?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written international thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great international thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

Thank you for the free Great Leap; ebookstage; Amazon Digital Services LLC; book

I received this book through Amazon Kindle freebies. This set The Last Line consists of two separate stories about ex-British operatives.

I read the first book from the set Betrayal & Vengeance and the story follows a group that calls itself The company. This group consists of a few ex-British operatives from SAS and MI6, and two private detectives who were fighting against Russian infiltrators and sleepers.

This is my assessment of this book Betrayal & Vengeance by Solomon Carter according to my 7 criteria:
1. Too long and Strenuous action - exciting and short - 4 stars
2. Boring - fun - 3 stars
3. Not difficult to read (as for non-English native speaker] - 4 stars
4. Predictable (common) - good story (unusual) - 3 stars
5. Shallow story - has a deeper meaning - 3 stars.
6. The story is mass and Unfinished - The story is clear, understandable, and well rounded - 3 stars.
7. Dry and uninspired style of writing - Smooth style with humorous and fun characters - 3 stars

Riveting

This book keeps the readers attention throughout the fast moving action. A British team is formed to combat a Russian plot to harm the UK and the US. The team has the backing of needs financially, but it's membership is drastically limited. Skill, experience, and stubborn attitudes prevail. The ex M16 member searches for her sister, whom she believed to have been killed , after she finds out her sister is alive and possibly a traitor. Book three will provide more action as the search continues.

I’ve read parts one and two in this series of books. The storyline is fast paced and the characters are well developed. Solomon Carter is an excellent author whose writings never leave the reader disappointed and Between the Lines is no exception. I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in this particular genre.
I was given this book as a complimentary copy and this is a completely honest review.

It was a very good story and I enjoyed the book.

This was a story about a fight between England and Russia!

There is a group of soldiers who help out England and help win the war!

It is a very well written book and there is another book in the box set that I will read when I finish this review.

Easy reading

Dan and Eva’s range has now expanded beyond London and the UK. ‘The Company’ has provided an additional dimension to their adventures and has allowed them to demonstrate their skills and invincibility at an international stage.

It's a can't put down action thriller.

I am very much a Dan and Eva can and, as different as their usual mysteries, I loved it. Solomon Carter is a creative genius and has so much more to give. This is a must read and I recommend it to you wholeheartedly.

Totally different stories from Solomon Carter still featuring our two private detectives but instead of murder and mystery in Southend they are involved in International espionage and suspense. Very good read and I thoroughly recommend these books.

Not my usual genre, but still managed to suck me in pretty quickly. Gripping good stuff. But switches POV with no clear indication or continuity. The second was even more gripping & I read it straight through, overnight.

I have reviewed these books separately so will just say that I enjoyed the action, the characters, the setting and the plot.

Good to see Eva and Dan again, if in a different scenario - more spy than crime.

Well done and worth reading.
