I read this book in 1978. It is rich with first-hand accounts --- and photos --- from fighter aces (those fighter pilots credited with shooting down 5 or more enemy planes in aerial combat) from World War I to the Vietnam War. "The Aces Talk" helped to further stoke my growing interest in aviation during the late 1970s.
I thought it was really interesting that the best aces from both World War One and World War Two were German pilots. The chapter about Eric Hartman was my favorite, I was blown away by this German pilots record of 352 enemy aircraft shot down.
