Dynamite Entertainment's wildly successful entry into the zombie horror genre is finally collected in its entirety! The zombie infestation rages unchecked. Only a handful of survivors remain, fighting for their lives against the rising tide of undead mayhem! Will these poor souls survive the perils of an overrun city and find safe haven Alfredo Bay's small coastal town... or has that world died along with most everything else in this post-apocalyptic nightmare? This gloriously gory compendium of carnage comes with a special introduction by Max Brooks, author of the New York Times bestselling Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z!
This wasn't bad but to me came across as a very typical zombie apocalypse type story. Didn't love the ending as it felt like there was more to be told. Perhaps another volume was planned at one time?
Enjoyed it but it clearly finished far too early as the story never gets resolved at the end. Much preferred the artwork in the 2nd half of the series too.
Disappointing as it just finished without resolving anything. It had some interesting bits with decent art but felt far too similar to all other zombie stories.
Ok. The art is splashy, too colorful, hyper-real— not pleas t to look at for me. No set-up to the outbreak & red herrings abound.
Starts right off with no prelude in a diner besieged by the living dead. Two kids whose mom tried to eat them have a gun. Sassy bus driver, scientist & tough guy round out the cast. The scientist worked at some SGF (secret govt facility) messing around with monkeys & a “Lazarus agent” drug. They all go there. Mad scientist that is semi-zombified and immune to the living dead? Govt makes zombie soldiers? Kids & guy make it to a lighthouse where a survivor is holed up; sea gulls carry the whatever & peck the guy and make him zombie. Kids trotted off into govt facility…
