CLAMP originally began in 1989 as a twelve-member dōjinshi circle, but by 1990, the circle had diminished from twelve to seven. Of the remaining seven, Tamayo Akiyama, Sei Nanao, and Leeza Sei left the group during the production of the RG Veda manga. Other former members of CLAMP also included Soushi Hishika, O-Kyon, Kazue Nakamori, Yuzuru Inoue and Shinya Ōmi. Currently, there are four members in the group.
In 2004, CLAMP's 15th anniversary as a mangaka group, the members changed their names from Nanase Ohkawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi to Ageha Ohkawa, Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi and Satsuki Igarashi (her name is pronounced the same, but written with different characters) respectively. The August 2004 issue of Newtype USA, a magazine specializing in events of the anime and manga subcultures, reported that the members of CLAMP simply wanted to try out new names. In a later interview with Ohkawa, it was revealed that initially Mokona wanted to drop her surname because it sounded too immature for her liking, while Nekoi disliked people commenting that her name was the same as Mick Jagger's. Ohkawa and Igarashi, wanting to go with the flow of Nekoi's and Mokona's name changes, changed their names as well.
In 2006, they made their first USA public debut at Anime Expo in Anaheim, California. They were well received at the convention, with 6,000 fans in attendance at their panel.

That Fei-Wang Reed is a real *insert multiple curse words*.
There was a heck of a lot of emotional and intense scenes in this omnibus. But I'm glad for the ending part with a memory of Syaoran's when he met Sakura. And young Syaoran and young Sakura are SO adorable! Especially little, clumsy, always smiling Sakura! I love her as a character. She's definitely one of my top favourite fictional characters.

The trauma has died down a little, but the action is only ramping up!
We tie up a few loose ends here with Kurogane and Seishiro. More plot reveals are given, and everything is moving toward the grand finale of confronting Fei Wang. More exposition is given, but there are hints that time is starting to get weird. We get a backstory for Shoaran that doesn't match what we've seen before. Something is afoot. Pay attention and do your best to keep track, because, with time manipulation involved now, things are only going to get more confusing! Especially keep note of all the things Fei Wang has done and why. His plots are massive and all encompassing at times, but they do all connect toward a single goal. It just takes time to process it all and put the pieces in place.
We are definitely traveling faster to the end!
On a translation note: the translator has already had to admit errors in previous volumes, but adds that they requested that changes be made in subsequent printings of the series. Except, the errors were still present in my copy, and the Omnibus' are definitely newer printings. So, I'm assuming the editors/publishing house ignored those translation requests? That's a little frustrating. If you're going to go through all the effort of re-printing the series in a massive book, please fix the translation errors like the translator requested! At least they kept the notes that inform the reader of the errors. Still, it would have been nice to see those updates actually take place in the newer versions. It makes the Omnibus publication seem lazy.

Going to rapid re-read this to pick up what the hell is going on.
Edit: OK I'VE REREAD. THOUGHTS!
First, dang, we came a long way in this omnibus. I forgot that we started off with them fleeing Seresu and arriving in Kurogane's Japan under Tomoyo's care. And then we end back in the Kingdom of Clow.... but in the past - which is also going wonky.
Also, if Omnibus 5 was Kurogane's, and Omnibus 7 was Fai's, then Omnibus 8 is definitely Original!Syaoran's.
We dealt a LOT with fate this omnibus, and the ripple effects when you try to change things. The Time Witch perfectly encapsulates it: "The extent of the interference determines the change in the final destination." The theme reverberates:
"Reason itself is beginning to crumble."
"The crumbling of reason is his wish."
"His wish [is] to bring someone dead back to life." HMMMM.
I'm desperately curious if Fei-Wang being "willing to repeat the same events over and over" means something. Has this entire story actually been repeating multiple times, like the villagers, while little things change here and there? After all, the parents in the Kingdom of Clow are different, and when original!Syaoran arrives the parents both say "the princess and the boy's fates will be changed."
I'm also curious about "among the princess' companions, one of them would be enough to fulfill his purposes." What, exactly, does Fei-Wang need a companion to do in addition to Sakura's ability to travel dimensions??? What role will they play? And presumably, it will end up being Syaoran, since Image!Sakura mentioned that if Image!Syaoran killed Original!Syaoran, *they* would both be gone.
Some more questions I have:
1. There seem to be a few moments where characters hint that Sakura and Syaoran actually have different names. If that's true, are these false names because of reality/time becoming unstable???
2. On that note.... "You are truly father and son." WAIT A MINUTE WAIT A DAMN MINUTE!!!!! In context with the "flashback" where we see young Syaoran go to the Time Witch.... is it a paradox where he IS, in fact, his father "Syaoran" (CCS version) AND son "Syaoran" (Tsubasa version). My brain is breaking, CLAMP what are you DOING to me?
3. "These failed attempts" while looking at the women. Will this be relevant later?
Also, specific art I LOVED:
1. End of chapter 181 when you see Kurogane, Fai, and Syaoran all remember Sakura and the memories are in little shards around each of them. Such a cool way of conveying their grief.
2. Everyone melting while the apple basket child happily yells "Come stay with us!" Creepy.

This book started off strong but it's really gone downhill from there, they keep doing plot twists with little to no build up so it's just confusing and now they threw in incest into the mix which is just entirely unnecessary.

At first, I was a bit annoyed that this ended in an extended flashback, but I know this will give some much-needed explanations, hopefully in the next volume.
