Schoolteacher Sienna Cruz has always been a good girl. She’s a dreamer, a rule-follower, and she’s saving herself for marriage. She’s also just won a coveted position teaching in a prestigious London school, which means in a few short months she’ll be saying goodbye to Whispering Pines forever.
Everything is going according to plan until she meets playboy Dashiell Springer.
Dash has made too many mistakes to count. He dropped out of high school and hitch-hiked his way across the country. He met the wrong woman, ran with the wrong crowd, and ended up with a prison record. After eight years on the West Coast, coming home to open a local gym is his first step toward a fresh start. He has no intention of revealing his past or starting up a relationship with anyone, let alone a woman like Sienna who’s way out of his league.
But the more time they spend together, the more both Sienna and Dash begin to question everything about the rules of dating they’ve set for themselves. When Dash’s past catches up with him, will their relationship be strong enough to withstand the truth?

Everyone has a secret, what is yours? It is under that assumption that Sienna decides to go back to Pine Point. Working on her Ph.D., she decides to go back to Pine point trying to prove that there are as many skeletons in the closet of small city people than those living is a big city. She had no ideas what was in store for her. How far is she willing to do to complete her project? This is the question that I asked myself as soon as I started this great adventure.
I have not read the first 2 books in the series and it did not matter at all. It is a standalone novel that is awesome! It is one of these stories that I was hooked on from the beginning. There is no big scandal involved, it is simply our everyday struggles and how we are so ashamed of them. This is also a story of redemption and that is showing us that we might have a plan that seems perfect, but it turns out that the universe has something else in store for us.
It is always tricky when you are getting into a new location with a hidden agenda and then Boom! You meet someone that rocks your world. Emotions are not supposed to be part of the equation and once it is there, we have to deal with it to the best of our capacities. It is not that Sienna’s agenda was mean or geared toward hurting an individual, at least not consciously. In the end, that is just what might happen, though. We always have to keep in mind that risk factor and sometimes when we become conscious of it; it is already too late.
Sienna decided to take a job teaching kids with special needs. Slowly she became attached to them, doing all she can to make sure that those kids have the best learning experience possible. She is also dealing with flashbacks of her mother death when she was just a teenager and living there in Pine Point. From the moment she moved away, she put all of her energy in her study to prove to the world that she is not that poor girl that she once been. That same drive that is proving to be successful in her academic path is the thing that is backfiring at her in her relationships now. She had to get real with herself and the others that became the closest to her. It’s all except a walk in the park.
Mike had a rough time when he was younger. His ex-wife hurt him and he was sent to jail. Since he is back in Pine Point, he opened a Gym and his life is turning around. He found his calling and he is proud of what he is doing. His mother is very important to him and he is living in an apartment next to her place. The family is a very important value to him. Trust, on the other hand, does not come easily for him and he decided that he will not commit again into a relationship. That is until he met Sienna, she turned his world upside down. He had to take a step back and asked himself what he really wanted going forward in his life.
This story is also a great illustration of who we are as a society/culture. If we would know right away each other secrets, we would judge the other person and never get to know them for who they truly are. Is it absolutely necessary to know everything about someone to develop a deeper relationship with them? I don’t think so. We will never know someone 100% and this story is showing us that when we are taking the time to build trust with somebody else, we are able to accept the other for what they are. Each secret needs to be revealed in its own time and we can grow with it.
I absolutely love this book and I recommend it! It is a great story with great characters!

I love Whispering Pines, a town I love to visit over and over again. This trip we meet Sienna always nice, perfect student, perfect daughter, Winner of a prestigious award that will take her to London, but not before she gets to know Dash a screw-up ( his words, not mine ) divorced, on parole, bad boy. Dash is trying to put his past behind him and start over, but secrets have a way of coming to light. Will Sienna want more than “ just friends “ with him when his secrets are all uncovered. I am a huge fan of this author and a huge fan of this series, so for me it’s a must read !
I really enjoyed Sienna and Mike's story in Spring Secrets. Sienna has few good memories of growing up in Pine Point, but she's back for now with her own agenda. Mike left Pine Point, and nothing good came of that. Now he's back in the place he truly calls home. Having met and dated very briefly on Sienna's short return to Pine Point previously, Mike and Sienna are no strangers to the sparks between them. But neither is looking for a relationship. Mike has been burned badly before and is not looking to repeat that mistake. Sienna isn't staying, and she's not looking either. Neither seems to be able to resist the other though, and soon it may be impossible to only be friends. When secrets and hidden agendas come out though, is there hope for a tomorrow together? Or is it too late for trust and love?
I had a harder time connecting with Sienna in Spring Secrets, and I feel like this is because her background was so much more of a mystery than Mike's. I felt like we got bits and pieces of it as the plot progressed, but I never felt like I truly understood her as well as I would have liked to. I was a little uneasy about her motives for returning to Pine Point and how this would all work out! Especially when Sienna and Mike had such an obvious connection between them. I didn't want either of them to get hurt! I really liked Mike. I felt like his character was much more developed and easier to understand and connect with. I felt for him a lot, but at the same time get frustrated with people (characters!) who hold someone else's poor choices against others of the same sex! His character really grows a lot though, and I liked the progression of it. Nothing felt rushed, but it felt very natural, especially after he and Sienna hooked up 'temporarily' as friends. Sienna's character certainly grew a lot in Spring Secrets, and I liked seeing her mature, feel at home, and become more comfortable with the people and town of Pine Springs than she thought would ever be possible. This part of her I really liked. I couldn't wait to see how things turned out for Sienna and Mike. Would she stay or go? Would she change her mind about small towns, in particular Pine Point, when she looks at it and the people there through her adult eyes instead of her hurt child's eyes? I liked the changes I saw to Sienna and Mike as they became closer and more involved not only together but with the small town of Pine Point.
I liked Pine Point and the picture of this place that Allie created in my mind. Pine Point is a good example of the positives of small town living, and I liked this.
All about moving on and opening up to the future, family values, trust, and secrets - that some secrets should just stay secrets - Spring Secrets enchanted me with not only the characters but the place. With great flow and pace, Allie easily made me feel like part of Pine Point. I'd recommend Spring Secrets to any romance reader.
Sienna is filling in teaching the special-needs class until the end of the school year. This summer, she's heading for England to study and teach - a huge opportunity for her career. Dash owns the gym in Whispering Pines, moving back shortly before his mother's death. She begins taking self-defense lessons from him, and they're friends, maybe headed for more. But you know small towns - everybody knows everybody's business, and there are no secrets. Dash has a huge secret, and someone spills it to Sienna. This is a great book, one that I really enjoyed reading. I love Sienna's close relationship with her parents, and her terrific friendship with Max. Even if he doesn't admit to the big secret initially, Dash owns up to his mistakes, and works hard for a better future. I'm so glad to read about the journey to their happy ending. I received a review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Sienna Cruz is a teacher and dreams of going abroad to work she has a placement in London along with her friend. But before going she is gifted a gym membership. There she meets Dash Springer, local bad boy who left town but come good and owns the local gym. But his past is having a bearing on the present and he has secrets he doesn't want to tell Sienna as he is slowly falling for her and afraid of wrecking his chances with the girl of his dreams. But after a drug bust that goes wrong Sienna's brother Louie is involved with the truth comes tumbling out. Now with cards on the table does Sienna still want to be with Dash? A sweet, feel good Whispering pines romance.
Sienna Cruz has always been the good girl. She just won a prestigious teaching position in London for a year. She also just met the town's bad boy, Dashiell Springer (Dash). Boy is she in trouble. Will she decide to throw caution to the wind and break her own rules on dating with Dash. Dash knows Sienna is out of his league, but there is an instant attraction. Can he get a second chance in life with Sienna or will the secret he hasn't told her yet, ruin his chance? I enjoyed reading this book, characters are believable and the story is well written.
The characters were well written & kept me interested throughout the entire story. I fell in love with Sienna & Dash. I loved the raw honesty of this story. This was a sweet romance with several obstacles thrown in the mix. I recommend this book! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This was an easy, enjoyable read about second chances and starting over. It might have been nice to have seen Sienna and Mike’s first actual meeting, rather than have them meeting again having gone on a few dates a month or so earlier, but there’s a nice dose of chemistry between them that more than makes up for it. They’re very cute together, despite being quite different, and I liked the way their relationship is grounded in a good friendship.
Sienna has something of a chip on her shoulder. Not in an obvious way, but her childhood has definitely shaped the way she views the world, and small towns in particular. She has no intention of sticking around in Pine Point, nor of making friends while she’s there, she just wants to pick apart people’s secrets and use it for her dissertation. Which isn’t the nicest of goals, but I liked how her views slowly start to change as the town and its people sneak through her guard and leave her with more questions than she ever expected.
Mike is a good guy – looks after his mother, runs two successful businesses, can be relied on in times of trouble, is great with kids, and also has massive trust issues around women, thanks to the behaviour of his ex-wife. He has several secrets that he plans to keep hidden, which is one of the reasons why he’s so hot and cold with Sienna. Considering neither he nor she want anything long term, their both strangely reluctant to enter into a temporary fling, and Mike’s flip-flopping behaviour could have been a bit annoying. Except that’s he’s really kind of sweet and I mostly forgave him.
Then there are those kids. I love Sienna’s class, with their distinct personalities. I think they, even more than Mike, give Sienna the best reason to want to stay. Sienna has an awful lot to learn throughout, and I have to admit I would have liked to have known a bit more about her life with her father and how she ended up doing two degrees. I would also have liked to have known more about how Mike started up his two businesses, and made such a success of himself. I liked them both, but outside of their lives in Pine Point, the details are hazy at best.
At its heart, though, this book is about community, friendship and the ties that bind people together, and whether people’s secrets are all bad or whether sometimes they come from a good place. (Or, you know, sometimes they’re kept because it is no one else’s business.) It’s a tale about people and the many differences that make us all unique, often in unexpected ways. The characters are interesting, the plot is steady and the romance enjoyable. In all I liked my second trip to Pine Point, and would happily read more about the place.
(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)
Spring Secrets is the third book in the Pine Point series. I love to visit Pine Point, but it’s not without its secrets and drama and danger. And its sexy characters!
Sienna left Pine Point years ago when her mother died. She’s back now and has gotten a job teaching special needs kids. And she has another agenda. An agenda that will reveal more than she is prepared to learn. Mike also left years ago but it didn’t work out well. He has come back home to start over, and seems to have settled in to a good life as the owner of the local gym. Mike has no special agenda, but he has no good memories from his time away from Pine Point and wants to keep the past private. Revealing secrets could ruin everything he has worked so hard to accomplish since he has come home.
Sienna and Mike hit it off as soon as they meet. It starts out as just friendly workouts at his gym, but there are sparks and their relationship soon develops into more. Neither of them knows if they are ready for more than friends with benefits, but they enjoy their time together and become close. But the longer Sienna is in Pine Point and works on her special project, the more old hurts and heartaches come back, and the more she jeopardizes what she feels developing with Mike.
I love to read Allie Boniface’s stories because they take you on a roller coaster ride of happiness and sadness, fun and danger, and always-special relationships with family and friends and much needed healing. Spring Secrets is no exception. Mike and Sienna are just going with the flow, thinking they are learning to know and trust each other. But the secrets may tear them apart. What they think they want or do not want starts to change, but can they handle it?
Sienna’s job as a special needs teacher adds a delightful, sweet element to the story. While not all of the children are exactly adorable, they are all special little people you can’t help but love. Watching Sienna begin to realize just how important her job with them is and how important they are to her, and seeing how Mike is drawn to them and they to him, just tugs at your heart. And bonus: there’s baseball!
If you haven’t been to Pine Point yet, go now – you’ll be happy you did.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Two people trying to forget their past and move on. All it takes is for one person to bring up the past and for secerts to come out.
Sienna comes back to Pine Point after a decade. She hasn't been back since her mom died. Now, she is filling in as a teacher and working on her PH.D. Sienna likes to work out and ends up at Mike's gym who becomes her personal trainer with benefits. Mike moves back to Pine Point after 8 yrs of being in California for a fresh start and to help his mom. He opens his own gym and likes to stay busy. Mike shows up at the elementary school to give Sienna school supplies. Now, he ends up at the school once a week to read to the kids. Emotions are high between Mike and Sienna. But a friend of Mike's shows up from the past to stir up some trouble. Sienna finds out about Mike's secert. She hears her mom's death isn't what she thinks it is and is now wondering what secerts are being kept. Things start to fall apart for Sienna, she just wants to leave Pine Point and forget about her research in Pine Point. One of the kids go missing on a field trip that Sienna took them on. Can Mike catch Sienna as her world seems to be falling apart? Can they find the missing child? But most of all will the secerts in Pine Point break or make Sienna and Mike's "relationship "?
Another GREAT book by Allie! I just love her work. Spring Secerts is a stand alone. Since it is a series of Pine Point, you get to see other/former characters and I just love that. So what are you waiting for!?!? Read Spring Secerts.
The story is part of a series, but if like me , you haven’t read the previous books, know that it’s a stand alone and you will not be lost or confused. It centers around Siena Cruz, and Mike. Siena, raised by a single Mom, left the town at 15 after her Mom , passed away. She has come a long way from the bullied girl. She returns to finish her PhD in the psychology of personality development. Mainly , to study the town and it’s secrets. She takes a job as a special ed teacher. Mike has also returned to Pine Point , after years tumultuous in California, making a name for himself and has opened a gym. The two start a relationship determined to keep it only as friends and not serious. But in essence the story is more than these two individuals. It’s a story about how we all have secrets, whether to protect others or ourselves. About things wish we had done differently, but it doesn’t mean we are less of a person because of our mistakes. Who is to judge when we all have secrets and are not perfect. The important thing is to learn from these mistakes and become a better person. Isn’t that what life is all about? Enjoy this one because it’s another winner for Ms Boniface.
In Spring Secrets Allie Boniface asks the question "can you go home again?" and answers the question with this moving story. Sienna Cruz left Pine Point after her mother's untimely death eleven years ago. Now she's back to research her dissertation. She hates the memories being here brings. She's teaching special needs children and falling in love with them as well as Mike Springer. He has returned to start over after a troubled time in California. My heart broke as Sienna struggled to deal with her past and her conflict over her future plans. Can the truth set her free? Mike wants Sienna to be his, but he's afraid to tell her about his past. My heart melted when he interacted with the children in Sienna's class. He's a keeper. I cared about these characters and wanted them to get a HEA. To be honest I wasn't sure how that would happen. I loved the setting and the secondary characters. I couldn't put down Spring Secrets until I knew how the story ended. Allie Boniface did an excellent job! The characters are well written, the romance was passionate and the dialogue sparkled. I want to come back to Pine Point. I received a copy in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.
Pine Point is back. Each time I visit, there are yet to be revealed secrets, emotional moments and stories that are packed full of wise sage advice. In Spring Secrets, Mike and Sienna are the key players. Heartbreak and big dreams took them away from the sleepy town of Pine Point. Sienna needed a fresh start after the death of a loved one and Miked wanted to make a change. Now each has returned to the home they left behind. Can Pine Point, the town of secrets also prove a healing balm for the soul? The reason I keep coming back to Allie Boniface stories is because she has way of shining a light on more than chance love but on the puzzles of life that stir the mind and heart but she does so in a completely organic way. There are two sides to everyone of her stories. The painful and the wonderful. The lesson every road is paved with sadness and pain but it's the choices we make that will help us make it through and more appreciative of the moments of happiness we experience along the way. Brings home, hearth and healing to each read.
Sienna was raised by her poverty-stricken, single mother. She left Pone Point when she was 15, after her mother died. Eleven years later, she is earning her PhD and must return to Pine Point to complete her dissertation. Mike returned to Pine Point after leaving making the worst decisions of his life. His life has reached a turning point and opened a gym. Sparks fly between Sienna and Mike, but both withhold from each other and the secrets they are hiding.
Sienna’s life has never been easy, but her strength pushes her through it all. She does not believe she needs anyone else permanently. Mike has had his share of pain and betrayals. He stays as far away from women as possible, but something about Sienna pulls him in. He feels he cannot trust anyone with his secrets. The revealing of each of the secrets is painful and destructive. Sienna and Mike must each decide if the revelation is worth it.Pine Point Book 3, can be read as a standalone.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first visit to Pine Point but it won't be my last. Although I usually try to read series in order, I didn't feel I was "missing" anything by not doing so. Sienna is back in the town she left after research of her mom. She's doing her thesis on secrets in small towns...while keeping her own. She reconnected with Mike, who's also recently back in town, with secrets. They have great chemistry, a lot in common but both feel they should stick to the friend zone. But neither can deny the attraction they feel. I don't want to reveal any secrets, but things begin to be revealed once they let their guard down. It's so hard to give a snapshot of this book without spilling the secrets so I'll just say this...whether you're a new reader of Allie Boniface or an old fan, you'll enjoy Mike, Sienna and Pine Point.
I received an ARC for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Secrets and seconds chances! Spring Secrets is a strong story filled with heartbreaking secrets, charming special needs children and characters that are given a second chance for love. Sienna returns to Pine Point to prove that perfection has it flawes in her dissertation for a PhD and Mike has returned home from California to start over. This book is very hard to put down and you really don't want it to end. Ms. Boniface has written a beautiful story that will grab your heart! I am a big fan of Ms. Boniface and highly recommend Spring Secrets to everyone.
Mike and Sienna were both such strong characters and vulnerable. They both stole my heart, especially Mike. Coming back to the Pine Point series and it's people was like coming home. Although you can read it as a standalone, I highly recommend reading all the books in this series if you like it, because Allow Boniface has made each one equally enjoyable. The book left me with a warm and happy feeling. Provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
