Bloodrunner Bear

Rate this book
Alana Warren has her entire life planned out. She’s making big changes and going after the future she wants, but one thing she doesn’t plan on is the tatted up bad-boy bear shifter who saunters into her coffee shop. The constant snarl in his throat says something is wrong with that man, but for some reason, she can’t get him out of her head. A couple of chance encounters with him have her questioning her entire future. Alana is a good girl and proud, but little by little, Aaron Keller is bringing out her wild side.

Aaron is trying his best to escape the long shadow of his last name. He’s not the mating kind, but one look at the curvy beauty in the local coffee shop and his animal is thinking it’s time to settle his wild ways. But between finding his place in his new Bloodrunner Crew, his new job with the fire department, and brawling with one seriously nasty coven of vampires, his life is complete chaos. Too bad his timing with the sexy good-girl, Alana, has the potential to wreck her entire future. And now Aaron must decide whether to cut her loose to keep her safe, or bring her close and expose the woman he’s falling for to all the dangers of his life.

Bears, dragons, vampires, and help from friends in the unlikeliest places—don’t miss out on this exciting second book in T. S. Joyce’s new Harper’s Mountains series.

I dunno if I should give this one 2.5 or 3 stars...

I've only read novellas by TS Joyce before, and they were all pretty good (although a bit too short), so I expected to really like this one.
Didn't work that way, though, it dragged a bit and well, it just wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.

It was pretty ok, though, I liked it somewhat, it was pretty decent. It's the kind of junk-food book, fun to read but not really memorable.

The H was a shifter born after a ONS in Fire Bears book 1. His mother didn't know about shifters, caged him so he never learned to control his bear. His bear is till out of control, he's an adult and he's struggling until he meets the h. She's wonderful, light to his dark but one of his friends has visions of an awful what might happen to her. Great story.

Hot Damn

When I first met Aaron he was an adorable little 5 year old, now he's all grown up and adorable doesn't begin to describe him. Then there is his mate, Alanna who is his match in every way, reading their story was bittersweet and I can't wait for more of Harper's crew to find that special one to complete them. T.S. Joyce always gets it right and goes from strength to strength with each new book, Bloodrunner Bear is proof of that. Keep them coming, big thumbs up from me.

I loved Bloodrunner Bear by T.S Joyce.

Alana is tired of living the small town life and is ready to give up her lease and move. Until Aaron Keller, the shifter she watch grow up walked into her cafe. They are instantly drawn to each other but with the treat to his crew by the vamps and the knowledge that he is going to change her they decide to take things slow.

But what happens when the vamps have other plans in mind for her??

I liked seeing the crew more as a group with this one. You wouldn't think they would have so many issues as they all grew up together, but coming together as a crew seems to be slipping them up a bit.

Aaron seems a bit out of control for most of the book. Things did settle down a bit when he meets Alana, more so when he realizes and does something about her being his mate. I liked how these two got to know each other and how Alana did with the rest of the crew.

I loved how all the guys viewed 1010 as something magical and made sure that it had the good mojo like the 1010 back home. I also find it interesting that Weston's visions do come true, but so far they are not what they seem. I think they all need to think about that when the next one comes up.

I'm glad things are done with the vampires, glad that when push came to shove Harper dealt with them swiftly and violently. Now hopefully they all can have some good times.

As interesting as the Damon's Mountain series I make no bones about the fact that I adore T.S. Joyce. Her Damon’s Mountain series is one I go back to when I am feeling blue, tired, or just want a quick, happy read with a bit of an edge. There is drama and danger, prejudice and bigotry, but there is also love and courage, family and friends.
Now, the Harper’s Mountains stories begin, and the children of Damon’s Mountain take center stage. In “Bloodrunner Dragon” we got the setup, and began to learn what has happened with the children since “Boarlander Cursed Bear.”

Everyone we knew as a baby is all grown up. And while they were desperately loved as children, that doesn’t mean that all was flowers and sunshine. Take Aaron Keller. As a child he was, literally, the poster child for Shifter Rights. Bright blonde hair, big blue eyes, and a tinkling laugh that grabbed hearts. He was a poster child all right. But that doesn’t mean his life was all roses. His story began in “Bear My Soul.” Living with only his mother for the first six years of his life, Aaron’s life was, as much as his mother loved him, and as hard as she worked to make him happy, brutal. The bear inside him was a brawler, strong and headstrong, and drove Aaron’s life. Drove him into a cage in order to keep himself, and his mother, safe. Six years before it was a one night stand Cody ran from – from the man, and from the feelings he caused. Not knowing who, or what, he was, finding Aaron was a bear was hard. It worked out, but the time in the cage as a child damaged Aaron, and his bear. Damage that has carried forward into his present life. But in "Bloodrunner Bear" Harper’s Mountain is a soothing change to his life. And meeting Alana has promise – but the war between a coven of vampires with a grudge may cost Alana her life. Which could very well cost Aaron his mind.

This has all the potential of the Damon’s Mountain series, and in the first two books? It meets that potential!

Moving from the first one to the second and still is fantastic. T.S. Joyce is an amazing author. By now usually all series' that are interlinked, the story starts to get tedious, and only a few Authors that I have read are able to keep the story alive and T.S. Joyce is one of them. Harper's mountains are keeping me on the edge of my seat, hook line and sinker. I truthfully feel that I will be completely lost when he series comes to and end. Cannot wait to read more and hopefully, I'll keep getting me fill.

I enjoyed this one more that the first for sure!!

I really enjoyed how they meet in this story.. i mean pen15!!!! (Inside joke btw) I was hysterical for a while at that lol.

This book took off at a great pace! The chemistry between both Aaron and Alana was fantastic even with odds stacked up against them. The storyline was interesting and kept me glued from the start with again laughter, love, angst and some kick ass fight scenes there is something for everyone.

Good

That was good. Exactly what I expect from T. S. Joyce I love her books. This is the first experience with vampires in her books for me. I will say that she wrote the where they could have some redeeming qualities. Ooohh the possibilities. Love the characters and this book way better than book 1.

Ready for more!
*reread 2024* didn't catch that Alana was black during the first read. Her hair is described as curls and her skin is dark but only later into the book it's described as "between coffee and milk chocolate" if I remember that line right. Loved it more! #BlackGirlLove

I liked this book more than Harper's that is a shame.

Aaron was still not my favourite and the vampire aspect was annoying but I liked the dynamics, from what I have see the vampire's get their own very short story spin off I may have to have a look at that.

I really like this world and I enjoyed the way this author writes i just wish it was clearer with what books go where. Theres a collection called Damon's Mountains and this is weirdly included in it, it also has Kane's mountains included in it, but some other side story which I don't recall the exact name of about a raven shifter doesn't appear to have an order to read, just makes this experience of the world really difficult instead of smooth.

Back to Aaron and his lovely lady. Both are emotionally damaged and scarred. The lady whose name is Alana was born with a bad cleft palette, shes also one of an identical twins. Alana is strong and shes trying to be indeptendent so she wants to move away. Aaron's bear is a bit wild if you've read his mum and dad's story you'll know he wasn't with his dad until he was 5. And his then human mum had to cage him, this makes or has made his bear a little bit hard to control. Aside from this hes a good character and him and Alana instantly click and sparks fly.

I like Alana. I also really like Aaron so I really enjoyed this romance but but... I still don't like this series as much as the others. I want to so bad but I don't usually enjoy spin offs. I get too attached to characters and I don't want to get attached to these guys!

This is the second book in this series. Aaron is the son of Cody Keller. He is a firefighter like his father and uncles. Now he has moved to Harper’s mountain and belongs to her crew. He isn’t looking to settle down and find a mate. His life is kind of a mess from pledging to the new crew, finding his place in the fire department, and then there are the vamps in town. But his animal doesn’t care once he sees the owner of the little café in town. Alana has a plan to move and make a life somewhere else. That is until she meets Aaron. There just something about the tattooed shifter. Aaron can’t stop thinking about Alane either. Before he can make the choice to pursue her or cut her lose the choice maybe taken from him. I can’t get enough of these characters. I am loving reading about the children of Damon’s mountain. The vampires add a nice twist to the book as well. Everyone is trying to find their place in the crew. They are now adults leading their own lives. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This book was a big improvement over the first book. The first one really felt like part of the exposition of this book. I thought the main characters were refreshing in their willingness to openly communicate. Usually, romance novels feature a couple who end up breaking up because they didn't tell the each others things they should have. Aaron and Alana were very open about the important issues and about their feelings, and they truly felt like a stronger couple for their efforts.

One of the main issues I had with this novel was the lack of details on the paranormal factors. I do not know if this is because this series is a spin-off, so the author may feel redundant being more explanatory. However, this was marketed as a stand-alone series. I think this one does stand alone much better than the first one in the series, but it still was missing some of the details that round out the story.

Not who i figured would get the second book in the series. Aaron seems serious and moody but that’s exactly why me need Alana. Alana’s man list was cute. Then Aaron saw it....embarrassing!! The name on the cup when Aaron orders coffee. Hahaha Pen 15. Very creative! The author holds nothing back.
I love how the whole crew becomes invested in Aaron’s love life and tries to give advice. Ryder is so flicking funny! Then Harper with her “Shut up or I will eat you!” I sit here with a smile on my face reading this!

I love these stories! I can’t get enough. Each one I figured would have a similar storyline after a while and they would all run together. It I don’t feel that way at all! Each story is wonderful. Getting to know that character deeply and watching all the antics of the rest of the crew. Outstanding!

Bloodrunner Bear is the second book in the Harper’s Mountains series and is Aaron and Alana’s story. Aaron is Cody’s son from the Fire Bears series and Alana is a sweet little human.

Aaron is a fireman like his father and uncles. He’s been struggling with controlling his bear, but notices that he calms whenever he’s around Alana who is the owner of the town’s bakery. Alana has had a crush on Aaron since shifters first came out. She likes him even more after meeting him and actually talking to him. They bring out the best in each other. Alana makes him calm and Aaron shows Alana respect and admires her. They were a good couple and there were a lot of very sweet moments. The paperclip idea was very touching.

I loved this story.
I was pulled into it from the beginning and that is where I stayed until I had finished every single word that was written, all the while I had my little mini movie playing in my head. Love it when that happens.
This book if full of surprises, some you may see coming and others you won't, some are large and some are small, but they all aide in making the book the fantastic read that it is.
Each one of these books gets better and better, I am so pleased I found them.
I highly recommend this series and the author, but don't do what I did, read them in order as they make better reading if you read them in order. I started reading them wrong, but I got myself back on track and I am reading them in order now.

THE FIREMAN AND HIS BEAR

A shifter whose mother didn't understand what and how her son shifting should be handled. In reality it's like how do you mould and treat the animal that's her son? A child's upbringing will be determined what type of adult he or she will become.
I enjoy reading shifter stories, the power, strength and fortitude they exhibit. They don't betray their families/clans sometimes there are exceptions to rules and there might be a rogue, but he's soon brought under control. How they find their mates and the rituals they under go. The Clans and others how they accept other covens such as the Vampires, but there's will always be riviary amongst them.

4 1/2 stars!

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence.

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the story and series in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers.

Aaron and Alana’s story has a different pace than the other stories to me, but I still enjoyed it and became engaged into the storyline and universe quickly.

The story, like all of the other stories from T.S. Joyce I have been binge reading over the past few weeks, are well-written with strong character development.

Alana Warren was contemplating how much better her life and business would be if she moved away when sexy, fire-fighting grizzly Aaron Keller stopped in her failing diner for coffee after a bad night at work. Alana had been Aaron’s biggest fan from the second she saw a picture of him when they were children and shifters went public.

Imagine Alana’s surprise that a girl like her could snag the interest of a man like Aaron. Super-fangirling back on! Meanwhile Weston’s inherited glimpses of the future doesn’t mix so well with the newcrew’s growing pains. But someone deadly is will go to any limit to make sure Aaron and the bloodrunner crew abandon their new home.

Again, a one star Meh. This one was slightly better but then again...Meh...What's with all the "without you I'm not complete" bs???
The characters are so one dimensional sometimes it hurts.
Does this lady have to pay per word written like a newspaper add?? Think about a good story other than two people falling in love!!! Describe the people involved in more than five words!! Darn woman! I'm no writer but you need to get your writer pants back on and do some actual writing. Witch, by the way, does NOT mean repeating over and over again the same phrase/concept.

I loved it!

T.S.Joyce is a fantastic storyteller! You just get sucked in. This is the story of Aaron. He is a bear shifter badass, tattooed firefighter. What else could you ask for?
Alana Warren own a small caffe which is where this two meet and after that you just buckle up because is a rollercoaster ride that includes vampires and Hot Steamy moments.
I think that Alec the vampire King deserves a book. Deep down is obvious he is a good guy that was trying to prevent war . This book is a must

A bear shifters finds his home and love

These books are absolutely delight for every fan of Damon's mountain. Reading about much loved characters children is such a wonderful experience. So, please to fully enjoy the heartfelt moments read the whole series. But for who are only reading this book. Well Aaron finds love in a little pastry store owned by Alana. What ensues is a whirlwind of action, finding strength in one self and a happy ending to bring a smile to even a hard hearted. Enjoy. Highly recommended

After having read the complete series (harper's mountain), this is hands down one of my fav one, the fact that she was so insecure and all he ever saw in her was beauty and couldn't fathom her insecurities? that's a wonderful MMC.

I just really loved this, I loved how it ended with her just saving them all when the entirety of the book she felt not that strong? girlie is truly magnificent. her being able to see through Aric manipulation and just saving the whole crew? that was hot of her. Wes vision becoming a reality but with context was so much sweeter.

Bloodrunner Bear

Lots of fun lines in this story.

“You can’t kill your co-workers,” and yada, yada.

Who hasn't wanted to kill their co-workers?

And this,

“Wow, you’re creepily optimistic,” Aaron said, his eyes narrowed to blue little slits.

“There is nothing creepy about optimism.”

And this,

“You’re a very aggressive hugger, woman. I think you wrinkled my shirt.”

“Passionate, not aggressive, and your shirt is weak if it is going to wrinkle so easily.”

The banter is fun as usual and I just love returning to this world and the characters.
