No take-backs. That was the motto that Drew lived by in all things, including his love life. He’s a player, pure and simple. He’s learned the hard way that women aren’t all hearts and flowers. Sometimes their sexy bodies and beautiful faces are just a pretty shield to hide the crazy, and he’s so freakin’ over crazy. Been there, done that. He has the divorce papers to prove it. Karma hits like a bitch. Aspen needs a break. A long one that doesn’t include anything with a Y chromosome. Not even one as tempting as her new neighbor who just moved in across the street. Men are trouble with a capital freakin’ T, and she has the ankle monitor to prove it. The last man she gave her heart to was a police officer. A man whose life was dedicated to protection; he was supposed to protect her heart—not break it. She decides right then and there that she’s done with being the better person. Everything happens for a reason. A rash decision—undoubtedly regrettable, undeniably unforgettable. In the heat of the moment, Aspen’s actions with a tire iron and her ex-boyfriend’s brand new SUV land him in the ER getting stitches and have her seeing the inside of a jail cell for the first time. It’s just her luck that the whole town is there to witness the result of her poor decision, including her police officer brother and the neighbor that already made it more than clear she was more trouble than she was worth. House arrest never looked so good. Hide your crazy. Drew enjoyed the show, though. For the first time in a year, he’s thinking about his life, and how it would be a lot more enjoyable with a woman like Aspen at his side. Maybe crazy isn’t so bad after all.

4.5 'Like two pieces of a puzzle' Stars

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Lani Lynn Vale is completely blowing us away with this series. It really couldn’t be any better.

Aspen has been seriously burnt by her boyfriend/fiancé, and being the awesome badass that she is, she gave him a little taste of his medicine and now has the electronic bracelet to prove it.

Drew just moved in next to Aspen, and having dealt with more than his share of crazy from an ex-wife and a rebellious teenage daughter, one would think that he would try to stay away from Aspens’ special brand of crazy or at least trying to resist his attraction to her, but no, from the very first moment he meets her, he acknowledges she’s special, and that given the chance she will become his world. Now, he just had to convince her of that…

Drew and Aspen together were simply superb! I could have loved this couple more than I did, and they’re one of my favorite of Lani’s pairings.

Drew is every bit of the stereotype of the image of hot firefighter. Tall, packed (wink, wink…) and über sexy made for one very difficult to resist package to resist. He knows what he wants, and there’s nothing sexier than a man fighting for what he believes it’s his future.

I was forty-two years old, and never once in my life had I had a woman affect me like this woman did.

Aspen tried to resist Drew, understandably, after the disaster with her cheating cop of ex-boyfriend, but all her sassiness and kickass attitude could keep him away. And with that sizzling chemistry between them, and his sweetness and devotion to her, who could resist?!

“Every day I wake up beside you, I know that it’ll be a good day. I know, that as long as I have you, I’ll have something to look forward to. I want you to know that I adore you, Aspen Ridley. You’re so fucking beautiful, sometimes my heart aches to look at you. Today, when I told my fellow brothers that you were mine, I felt this huge weight lift off my chest.”

Drew was absolutely extraordinary! Sure, he came with a crazy ex-wife and a troubled teenager, translating in a bit of OW drama, but that was completely overshadowed with his amazing attitude and devotion to Aspen. Never once did I doubt how dedicated he was to her, and how much she meant to him, and he gives us snippets of it, over and over again.

She just fit me so perfectly, her walls wrapping me up snugly and sucking my entire length in. It was like two puzzle pieces snapping together.

Especially with the woman of my dreams in my lap helping me keep warm.

Isn’t he swoon-worthy?! This never-ending sweet and hotness combo in all his Alpha ‘badassness’ made him one of my all time favorite LLV’s Hs, and an immediate entry to my top of ‘best book boyfriends’! He was just that amazing! Sigh…

As per Lani’s style, this book is packed with all the delicious elements that get you hooked from the very first page. From emotional to funny as hell (OMG, that build-yourself dildo scene was!!! LMAO!!!), thrilling to tender and caring, sweet to ultra sexy moments, we really had everything in this delicious reading journey. In my view this one, had a bit of less emotional load than the others of the series, and more hilarious and naughty moments, which worked just as perfectly and the previous ones, like a bit of a breather in this outstanding series.

Of course we got a look into the other Kilgore Fire Department men – and women-, some that we’ve known from the previous installments, and some new, who made for some enticing secondary characters. Specially in the rolling in the floor laughing department. They are a fantastic group together! I seriously can’t wait for next book, with PD’s story, Controlled Burn. October can’t come soon enough! <3

“I love you because you make me feel happy. Because you make me sleep well at night. Because you make me laugh. Because, when I wake up beside you, you make my heart race. Things like that.”

If I had to convey this story to a friend, it would sound something like this:

‘So I read this book right, and there was this girl in it and OMG so fucking hilarious but she went a little crazy cause this guy but then her neighbour and OMG so fucking hot but then the other neighbour and this dumb idiot guy and the trash bin and OMG this thing happened and it was so funny but then this other thing happened and then the daughter and OMG like what next, amiright?! And OMG she got this product in the mail and what happened after that was SO.FRIKKING.HOT. Seriously, you HAVE to read this book!’

But that doesn’t make much sense so instead I’m going to try my damnedest not to gush all over this review about this brilliant book. Lani Lynn Vale is just an author I cannot get enough of. She consistently produces heroes that are hot as all hell and heroines who are strong and hilariously quirky. Her plots are as crazy as they are good and there is so much happening that you hardly have a moment to catch your breath until the next thing takes you by surprise. Oxygen Deprived was no different.

Drew is a bit of a hard ass and really has no time for romance but underneath that gruff exterior lies the soul of a poet. A horny poet. His unwilling possessiveness and protective feelings towards Aspen made him impossibly endearing and his filthy mouth made him sexy as hell. Aspen is hilarious. She’s a little crazy and a lot snarky but one thing she is not is weak. She has no qualms about getting violent and even more so when her life is in danger. A damsel in distress she most certainly is not. Together these two burned with the fire of a thousand suns. Not only was the chemistry between them crackling but their passion was HOT! There are a few scenes in this book that I just had to re-read because they were so impossibly erotic and just absolutely torturous! Things between them also got plenty sweet and this book had all my swoony bits aflutter.

I really could go on about this book forever but I will just end it by saying that Oxygen Deprived is the perfect title for this book because I was certainly left breathless. It is a non-stop rollercoaster of action, craziness, hotness, sweetness and hilarity! Absolutely recommended.

Every time I review a Lani Lynn Vale book, I sound like a broken record. I love this series!

Drew and Aspen were one of my favorite couples. There was a wee bit of pushing away (couple days) but nothing significant. Drew was not a manwhore, having been celibate for over a year before meeting Aspen. At the 5% mark, Aspen, who was a neighbor, saw him kissing a woman and assumed he was sleeping with her (I did too) . Turned out it was a kiss goodnight after a dinner date. They hadn't even met yet so it turned out ok!

There was ow/om fiascos with both of their ex's.
-Drew's ex tried to worm her way back in but he out the kabosh on that real quick. She was putting off signing the divorce papers but once Aspen came into his life, Drew knew he had to do whatever it would take to make it happen.
-Aspen's ex was a real jerk. He raked Aspen over the coals even though he cheated on her with his partner. She caught them and landed herself under house arrest. He stole from her and was a general PIA.

-hot firefighting swat medic alpha
-feisty, funny awesome heroine
-no cheating whatsoever
-ow/om (see above)
-just a smidge of pushing away
-great secondary characters
-a decent epilogue but it could have been further out

I look forward to whatever comes next from Lani Lynn Vale! She is an auto buy for me. Hoping maybe we even get a book about Atti and Mace....hint hint

When Drew left his wife and moved in next door to Aspen, he didn't expect to fall for the quirky neighbor on house arrest. Drew is trying to figure out all things Aspen, she lost her temper with her cheating ex and has been regretting it ever since.

Aspen doesn't really regret her actions, but she can officially say being under house arrest sucks big time. Drew is a wonderful diversion and when he figures out what she does for work, he is even more entertained. He is planning on building something with Aspen, but with an ex who is helping keep his daughter from him. Juggling everything he knows one thing for sure, Aspen is his and he will do everything he can to protect her.

Loved this, I thought the whole story was highly entertaining from beginning to end. Had a couple of twists I did not expect. Liked Drew from the get go, you dont think that he is alpha male but he sure is when it comes to Aspen. I can't wait for more in this series.

“I’m going to marry him,” I informed her.

“She’s going to demand it of him, Mother,” Downy, my brother who wasn’t very happy about being on vacation with us, drawled.

“But why do you love her?” He asked. The teenager paused. “Because, I just do.” “You should really have a better answer than that,” I blurted out, immediately clamping my hands over my mouth.

“I can’t believe you’re under house arrest,” my best friend muttered.

“Probably because you were caught beating the crap out of your ex boyfriend’s truck and then his woman,” Naomi giggled, laughter filling her voice.

Danny had taken it while I was in jail, along with my Xbox, the controllers, my Dish satellite receiver and all of my kitchen appliances that were small enough to fit into his mom’s SUV.

Danny left, but not before he accidentally knocked the TV over, leaving it sprawling in the wet grass just outside of my ankle bracelet’s range.

The sound of a door opening from across the street had me looking up in time to see my new neighbor come out with a pretty lady latched onto him. He gave her one hell of a hot, wet kiss and then lifted his head from the woman’s mouth.

“I dropped my boyfriend/fiancé’s lunch off for him, and caught him fucking his partner in his patrol car,” she grimaced, her face a mask of embarrassment.

5 barely breathing stars!! Another great book by Lani!!! I’m hooked!

Just when I think this series can’t get any better, Lani throws another great book into it!! And this one is no exception. I loved the relationship between Drew and Aspen. I loved the sassiness that she throws at Drew. And well he’s just sexy as sin, but these two together are almost too much to handle, but in the greatest way possible!!! I loved their stories and how they come together. I was hooked the minute I started reading and couldn’t put it down!!! Definitely worth the one click!

Oxygen Deprived
Lani Lynn Vale
5 stars

Oxygen Deprived is the third release in the Kilgore Fire series. In Lani fashion that we all love we have exceptional characters, banter between characters we have known from prior series and stories and of course the random thoughts from our characters prior to each chapter (which have become my favorite things).

The prologue of this book sets everything in motion. Im not going to say what happens but I kept wondering to myself when in the world is this going to be recognized and you wonder why you are being told or its being inferred BUT let me tell you that I understood completely as I read along. For me this was a beautiful love story ….. Im not your typical love story girl so lets clear that up – I mean hide your crazy – no … why …. And this has my brand of cray cray in it. LOVE IT!

Aspen and Drew are fantastically written. These two are something else. This is a great story also about characters with somewhat of an age gap but couldn’t be more right for each other as well as what happens when you “think” you are so in love at such a young age. Aspen is under house arrest – (bwwwaahhhhhh – why … Im not telling). Drew is her neighbor – just moved in and a medic for the SWAT team ending up hanging with the Kilgore team on a volunteer basis. Aspen’s job is very interesting to say the least. In fact, its one I promise you we all wish we had and could be successful at. Keep an eye on the things she gets sent as well and from where. LOVE IT.

This book is just plain hilarious – I love the fact that we have a snippet of everything giving us an entire Lani pie – meaning you get all the good rolled up into one in Oxygen Deprived. You get a bit of Luke (Center Mass – KPD SWAT) – Tai is of course there from our first release in the Kilgore series – Downy is Aspen’s brother (Lachlan Downy from Bang Switch KPD SWAT release 3) – and a few other goodies. I’ve decided after this one I going to go revisit each character and pair them up with their lady so that I can keep track while continue to read all of the series we are generously given from Lani – I absolutely love that old friends are pulled back into these books. Do you need to read the others .. no these are all stand alones but I don’t know why you wouldn’t – every single book is worth the click ---

Get this one friends – you wont regret it. The ride with Aspen and Drew is hilariously written and worth every minute. Thank you Lani for the ARC! You are amazing as always. The cover is fantastic – Gary . ….. the eyes …… you rule. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

I know I am going to get thrown under the bus for this, better yet I am going to run and hide as soon as I push save! This is the very first book I have read by Lani, I know, I know, where the f**k have I been? I have heard nothing but amazing things about her books and am now just getting the chance to read one of them. I have to say I was grabbed, hooked and sunk by the quality of her writing. Her attention to the development of her characters is spot on and the fact that the story has a hotter than h*ll firefighter made it all that much better. The bonus was just how epically hilarious and laugh out loud it was. Seriously, this is a must read! I am now going back to read the previous books in this series.

Drew is all man! When you think of smokin' hot, sexy firefighters...he is what you see! He is driven and not afraid to go after what he wants and that currently is Aspen, his new neighbor. He has had it with the opposite sex, especially the crazy ones! His ex-wife was more than enough crazy for him and he is thrilled to be on his own, living the life that he has worked so hard for. That fact that his ex tries to drum up more drama, had me wanting to punch her. Throw in a troubled teen and you have more than enough drama to go around. I loved Drew's character and how dedicated he is to his work. Not to mention how dedicated he is to Aspen and proving to here that they are worth fighting for. He is swoon-worthy, sexy, caring and a true romantic in my book!

Aspen has had it with men and has the hardware to prove it. When she catches her ex-boyfriend/fiance in a compromising situation she ends up behind bars and he has to get stitches. She decided the best way to take out her anger was on his brand new SUV. This girl has GUTS!!! I loved how head strong and stubborn she was. You can't tell me that there isn't a girl out there who hasn't thought about doing something like this at some point in their life. I know I have wanted to. I loved that I could relate to her. She made me laugh like crazy and then had me frustrated moments later. She truly is a girls girl!

Aspen and Drew are explosive! Talk about sexual chemistry and smokin' hot, sexy scenes, What starts out as a friendship merely to aid Aspen with her house arrest, quickly turns into something more. But can Drew deal with Apsen's kind of crazy or will her prior actions carry more weight than she ever intended? Grab your copy of this extremely well written, sassy, sweet, funny, sexy read and take the roller coaster ride through the fire that is Aspen and Drew's story.

Lani Lynn Vale's books are always an auto read for me, and the Kilgore Fire series is quickly becoming one of my favorite series.

Oxygen Deprived is Drew's story.
Drew's been married, has a crazy ex and figures he's better off going without that dealing with that level of crazy again.
His neighbor Aspen is a special kind of crazy. She's on house arrest for unleashing her inner nutjob on her ex's truck and then him after catching him cheating.
Everyone knows what she did, most of the town witnessed it, including the police department. So now she's stuck in her home watching neighbors for fun.
She an Drew become friends spending most evenings together, until he helps her out with a special item sent to her for review and that's when their friendship goes further.

These two are great together, he deals with her snarky attitude and they sort of balance each other out, they also go at it like rabbits regularly.
Aspen has more crap from her ex trying to screw her over while she can't leave her house to do a thing about it, and Drew has ex-wife then daughter troubles. And then there's the psycho kid down the street trying to ruin everything.
Lots going on but it's a great read. It's sexy and funny, sweet and honest.
One of my favorite parts is when the families get together to meet each other, you'll see what I'm talking about when you read it.
I enjoyed hearing from characters from other books and getting inside Downy's head a bit. He needed his butt kicked but luckily he figured out how to remove his head from said butt before any damage could be done.

Drew may be my new favorite book boyfriend, he's the perfect alpha, just enough protective, just enough sweet just enough hot between the sheets.
Another exciting and hilarious 5 star read from Ms Vale.

Aspen has had it with the opposite sex in her life. Her last boyfriend was a police officer, who broke her heart, when she caught him cheating with his partner. She snaps, and finds herself in jail after she takes a tire iron to his new SUV, and sends him to hospital for stitches. If that isn't bad enough, she makes this questionable decision in front of the police station with the whole town looking on. Now she's on house arrest, and she's about to lose her mind. Drew is a yummy fireman, who is a player through and through. His past has taught him that women's sexy bodies, and beautiful faces hide their crazy, and he's over it. And although he's determined to stay away from his sexy new neighbor, who has already showed her crazy, he finds he can't. As he gets to know her, he's now wondering if her brand of crazy wouldn't be so bad in his life.

OMG I laughed to hard! Aspen is a gem, and I am crushing on her crazy self. The character development is fantastic, with a fully rounded cast of secondaries. Half of them I loved, and the other half I stayed mad at. The sparks of chemistry ignited into SMOKIN' HOT sexy scene goodness that I couldn't get enough of, and I'll talk about it again, the well placed humor had me hysterically laughing the majority of the book. Lani Lynn Vale's brilliant writing style can writing about anything, and it's EPIC! Her twists came out of left field, which had me cussing out loud. My emotions fed off of Aspen's emotions like she was my bestie, and I wanted to hurt the ex, and her brother on her behalf more than once. I could have read about this couple for weeks, and I hope I will hear more about them in the future! Super excited to see what this author comes up with next, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first
Shock Advised (Kilgore Fire #1)
Flash Point (Kilgore Fire #2)

This is Aspen and Drew’s story. Aspen can’t leave her house thanks to an ankle monitor she has to wear after an act in the heat of the moment. Drew is her new neighbor across the street. He’s hot but she is done with men at the moment. Everyone seems to avoid her but if they only knew the truth of why she did what she did they might just think she had a right to. Now she has to deal with her crazy ex and his partner along with the town that thinks she is a little crazy. Drew learns he has a lot in common with the neighbor next store and can only resist her for so long. The more he is around her the closer they become. Now they have not only her ex but his ex. Can they deal with all the baggage that each of them carries to the relationship? Can they make it work even if they were not looking for a relationship to begin with?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Another fantastic read by the extremely talented Lani Lynn Vale. Oxygen Deprived is the third book in the Kilgore Fire series. I absolutely love how she weaves and combines all her series together, giving us glimpses into the lives of characters her from previous books.

Drew is a tall, dark, sexy as all get out OLDER (yay) firefighter who moves in across the street from Aspen, the feisty spitfire who is on house arrest for assaulting her ex. Watching these two interact and get to know one another is quite the wild ride. Both are dealing with their own exes who seem to rival each other in the cray cray department. The banter between them had me laughing out loud so many times, as well as them trying out the products sent to Aspen for review on her blog. There are some very touching awwww! moments where Drew made my heart melt. There’s also plenty of humor, drama, and suspense to grab a hold of you and not let go. Lani Lynn Vale continues to prove why she’s a #oneclick author for me.

Clearly I'm way behind in updating my bookshelves and reviewing.

I gush about Lani all the freaking time.

This books was great. Not one thing I disliked which isn't unusual for me with this author because I absolutely love her writing. Her character are dinamic, funny and just a pleasure read. The storyline always flows consistently and I love that we always see past and present characters intermingling.

Short and sweet because honestly If you have read her previous series's you know what to expect and if you haven't you need to get on that shit.

While I was lazying in my bed, enjoying my birthday, I decided to read Oxygen Deprived because, you know, the title is so birthday-appropriate. And it wasn't a miss. Not at all. My favorite character from all Lani Lynn Vale's series came back! Mocha, that sweet, evil K-9 stole the whole show for herself.
But let's not forget the main characters, they were very likeable, funny and their sex scenes were so hot I had to go and refill my glass of water because I kept splashing it on my flushed face.

Loved Drew & Aspen! They have history, but neither realizes it til later. Heh. Even w/ all the outside stuff going on, their relationship is super cute & SUPER H O T. Like, Aspen reviews products for her blog & some of those products are ... well, they have lots of fun w/ them! ; )

Once again, I enjoy the inter-connectedness of all the various series. Sometimes it gets confusing - I can't keep up with the details of EVERYONE's connections - but I still love it! : )

Drew surprised me, I wasn’t sure what shape his story would take but yet again Lani Lynn Vale knocked it out the park.
Aspen was fabulous, a spitfire of a woman who is currently under house arrest as punishment for the destruction she took justification on reigning down on the truck of her cheating a$$ of an ex. He was lucky that it was an inanimate object that she decided to beat the c**p out of, had it been him, well I’m not sure he would have been able to show his face, as desperate as her actions were, it could have been much worse, I actually think she held her fury well.
I found myself smiling at her completely understandable righteous indignation and settled fairly quickly to the fact that I was going to adore Aspen, her heart was very much in the right place even if she didn’t seem to have a verbal filter.
So, as much as I was content in the company of this fabulous woman, when Drew entered the fray I was done for.
Still married but desperately trying to finalise a divorce, Drew lives opposite Aspen and is completely enamoured by her, she fascinates him but is that enough to have him changing his mind about whether or not his future contains enough room to invite her in, after all his crazy a** ex and his belligerent teenage daughter is piling on him, he just might not be in the right place at the minute.
Inevitably they strike up a friendship that was only ever destined to head one way and I have to say that once I saw how they embraced her product testing, I knew they are in it for the long haul, I giggled my butt off at the two of them once I knew what she was reviewing!
They complemented each other perfectly, they each had their issues to resolve with their ex’s – hers was as much of an idiot as his was and as irritating as it was to have to take time to deal with others and their petty games, all of that was almost secondary when it became clear that there was another threat entering the frame, and it was coming from much closer to home.
The author worked her usual magic when she inserted this unforeseen element of danger, and even though I thought I had it sussed, I was knocked for six when it came from a source I hadn’t expected!
Did I love the book- Yes.
Is it my favourite- Oh, now that is an impossible question because to be honest picking which one of her guys is my favourite would be like picking my favourite child, impossible.
But what I do know is that when it comes to likeability, Drew and Aspen will be hard to beat.

Oxygen Deprived is the third book in Lani Lynn Vale’s best-selling Kilgore Fire series, and I really love this series, it just gets better and better. Vale never fails to disappoint me, and she absolutely didn’t let me down here. Oxygen Deprived was definitely my favorite of the series so far.

As I read this book, I couldn’t help but feel like it was the Lani Lynn Vale incarnation of the Carrie Underwood song, Before He Cheats, except funnier, a whole lot sexier and with a much happier ending. We get plenty of visits from favorite characters in Vale’s other Kilgore books, especially Downy, the SWAT team member from Bang Switch in the KPD SWAT series, who is the heroine, Aspen’s, brother. Those two haven’t had the best relationship, and as a side story, Vale explores it.

The romance between Drew and Aspen, though, takes center stage. They were a great match. Their chemistry was palpable and undeniable, and despite the less than ideal circumstances Aspen was in, they made it work. As ever in one of Lani’s stories, this is accomplished through the liberal use of humor. This author just hits the nail on the head every single time for me with her sense of humor. Her heroines are always sassy and sarcastic, bordering on snarky even, but yet each one is unique. These are women I could easily become friends with.

Drew and Aspen had to battle angry, spiteful exes, an overbearing brother, house arrest and someone hell bent on revenge. At least Aspen’s home incarceration wasn’t boring, what with all the activity on her street. As funny as this book was, there was also a very sexy and sweet romance here, another thing I never fail to find in the pages of a Lani Lynn Vale novel. The romance between Drew and Aspen was playful and fun, and I loved how Aspen got Drew involved in her home-based job. It’s these little quirky surprises and twists that Vale always delivers in her books that keep me one-clicking without hesitation.

I loved Oxygen Deprived, and I’m really loving this series. I’ve said it before, but it warrants repeating: my trip to Vale’s Kilgore, TX is always one of my favorite fictional places to go. A swoony and steamy romance, laugh-out-loud humor and a cast of characters I adored, I’m giving 5 smooches to Lani Lynn Vale’s Oxygen Deprived.

Drew has been married and doesn't want to go down that road with another crazy woman. Then he meets Aspen, his neighbor, who has her own special brand of crazy. Aspen is currently on house arrest after she unleashed her crazy on her ex (who by the way totally deserved it and a little more!) The problem is the entire police force and most all of the town saw her go nuts. Add in that her half-brother is a cop as well (Downy from the Code 11-KPD SWAT series) and well you can see how that would be awkward.

Now Aspen is stuck not being able to go very far in her yard and that is driving her even more crazy. Downy doesn't have much to do with her because of her father and the fact that she was named after his deceased father. There is a whole story there that is awesome and I will say that Downy was one of my favorite characters but I wanted to slap the crap out of him in this one. The good news is she is a product reviewer and can work from home (I love that!) and her neighbors give her enough action she can be entertained. Her douche canoe ex keeps popping up and all I wanted to do was shoot him and his partner who is cheated on Aspen with.

Drew and Aspen are perfect together even if his ex-wife does everything possible to drive a wedge between them. She was a real witch and the crisis with his daughter only brings them closer together rather than what the ex hoped for. Drew finds himself caring for Aspen much more than he hoped and even when she refuses to answer the door because she's peeved he still finds a way to make his feelings known. There is a lot going on in this one but it was the most fun of the series so far. There is plenty of seriousness to it but even fun and snark that you find yourself laughing throughout.

I know I’m in for a hilarious, chaotic, crazy, and suspenseful read every time I pick up a book by Lani Lynn Vale, and these qualities hold true for Drew and Aspen’s story, Oxygen Deprived.

Aspen finds herself in quite the precarious position when readers meet her at the start of the story. I have to confess, though, I don’t blame her one bit for her actions and the fact that she received the punishment that she did definitely doesn’t fit the crime, and there’s plenty of people who agree with that assessment. Regardless of how others feel, though, she still has to do the time, and she finds quite entertaining ways to fill her days and once she meets her new neighbor, Drew, her days of house arrest become more than tolerable, and she finds herself taking a risk with her heart, even after she told herself she’d never put herself in that position again.

Drew’s had enough with crazy women after the number his ex-wife did on him, but for some reason, the kind of crazy his neighbor brings into his life is one that he can handle and one he actually wants to have around him as much as he can.

There are a lot of outside circumstances that Drew and Aspen have to contend with in order to be together, but it’s almost like a twist of fate brought them together because what they feel for one another and what they’re willing to do for one another is far greater than anything they’ve ever felt before, and because both Drew and Aspen are fighters through and through, they have what it takes to weather the storms that are brought into their relationship, ensuring they’ll always have enough air to breathe as long as they remain together.

I can’t get enough of Lani Lynn Vale’s kickass characters and storylines. There’s never a dull moment in Vale’s books because there always something or someone to deal with, but what I also thoroughly enjoy about her stories is that she balances the heavy issues with comedic scenes and her characters have the best one liners!

Oxygen Deprived by Lani Lynn Vale is the third book in the Kilgore Fire series . It is very interesting and has a few curves that will keep you interested during the whole novel .

Drew is recently divorced . He is a volunteer fire fighter , a medic for the SWAT team and all around good guy . He has a fifteen year old daughter who is very angry at him due to the fact of the divorce and her mother not being in a good place emotionally . But he has to keep moving forward in his life .

Aspen is currently under house arrest . She had a crazy moment that involved her finding her ex-boyfriend with another woman and she trashed his truck and knocked him out a little . Her ex just happens to be a police officer and she just happened to commit the crime while in front of several other police officers . Luckily , she can do her job from home , so she is not inconvenienced in that way . And her job is very interesting .

Drew and Aspen are neighbors . They live across the street from each other . He helps her out a couple of times do to the fact that she can only move so far outside of her yard space . As the time goes by, they begin to spend more and more time together . He actually shows up to her house when her turkey gets burnt in the oven one day . They begin to see that maybe they could be good for each other .

During this time , both of them have to contend with their exes individually and as a couple , but they are able to work together to get over the issues that come at them as a team and as a support to each other . They also have a good support system in the fire fighter and police squads .

I really liked this book and I would rate it at four stars .

Fate or rather the decisions of a starry eyed 10 year old?
When Aspen declared that she would one day marry the hot teenager she didn't know how that statement would come to pass.
Drew was once asked why do you love the girl you want to marry, his answer was not the right one and was quickly corrected by the 10 year old. Little did he know that 10 year old's wisdom was something that he should have listen to. How ever there was one thing that came out of that marriage that he never would have changed his daughter Attie.
Okay, so I have gotten ahead of myself and given something away. I won't anymore.... promise!
So Drew a hot firefighter/paramedic/ OMG did I say he was HOTTT? yea he is the dream boat that you will want to devour as you read how he falls for the crazy girl that lives next door to him in his new house.
Aspen beautiful, strong, smart and crazy, but not the crazy that you should be scared of, no she is the fun kind of crazy. As the two of these people fin out how they connect and mesh so well we are filled with some major drama, danger and well one beat up truck.
Aspen the blogger and reviewer of product(like me) is one funny and tough cookie that you would love to have in your corner at any given time.
Together their world meshing just works and as a reader this is exactly what I crave a story that calls to me to keep reading. It says hey!, You know you want to know what happens next, open the book Drew is waiting.... I know, is it strange that my kindle speaks to me?
Well this book was definitely screaming in my head to keep reading and so after a sleepless night I can say that it was totally worth the read. I was right there kicking but with both Drew and Aspen and falling in love as they went through their journey together. It was, amazing, powerful and beautifully fated!
