This fun children's picture book follows the story of cute little bunny, Jimmy. He lives with his family in a small, nice house in the forest. The problem is that Jimmy doesn't want to sleep in his own bed. Every night he sneaks quietly into his parents' room and falls asleep in their bed. Until one night something unexpected happened .... Are you curious? Well, you'll just have to read the book to find out what happened. This is the first book in the collection of short bedtime stories for children. This story may be ideal for reading to your kids at bedtime and enjoyable for the whole family as well!
I Love to Sleep in My Own Bed (Children's book, bedtime story, Beginner readers ): (Bedtime stories children's books collection) (I Love ... stories children's books collection 1) Jimmy is a bunny and has many siblings. He has a lot of reasons why he doesn't want to sleep in his own bed at night. His mother assures him the bed is fine and goes about the nightly routine of getting them all in their own beds and giving them a hug. Sometime in the middle of the night Jimmy is found in mom's bed. The other bunnies noticed what he was doing and they also decided to sleep in the parent's bed. The bed finally broke and the they went the next day into the forest to get wood for another bed. The children were allowed to paint their beds and they never went into their parents bed again. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
Ciao!
I read this to my youngest who climbs into our bed every night. We were able to talk about how she needs to sleep in her own bed every night like the bunnies here ended up doing.
This is a parallel text picture book in French and English, with the French paragraphs in bold directly beneath the English ones. I was able to borrow the ebook from my local library. It is well-illustrated, has authentic French and has narrative. But, as I suspected, it is quite saccharine. From the perspective of French reading practice, it uses passé simple (preterite tense) but is fairly simple, with the opportunity to check the English version for any words that are unknown. My new French word of the day is "un câlin", meaning "a hug". Being a picture book, it only takes a few minutes to read.
This is a simple and cute story. Even when I was a kid I wanted to sleep with my parents. It took time for me to change this habit. This story gave me a nostalgia.
Wonderful bedtime story! Ava enjoyed it and even yawned afterwards... great read! We will definitely read this book again tomorrow night. ( Side note: Noticed one typo though)
It was a sweet story and having both languages was super useful. My only issue was that some of the French seemed overly complicated...like there are simpler, more common ways to say certain things.
A simple story and a good learning tool. I'm new to Spanish but most of the translations I checked seem correct. I like to use multiple methods when I learn a new language, and I'm sure I'll read this book many more times to help me continue learning (and remember) starting vocabulary and grammar.
It's hard to rate this children's book any higher as it doesn't deliver enough depth or light moments.
The story is fine, but not as clever as it could have been. It doesn't necessarily teach children anything of value to be honest. Which is disappointing.
Author should consider illustrations that take up the whole page (they're tiny in the Kindle version).
This book was offered free. I chose it because I am always adding kid's books to my collection. The book was easy to read with bright illustrations. I have one observation - the phrases that were highlighted on the pages went to one of her other books when tapped. I would suggest changing this because it is like advertising her other books. Overall, a good book.
I really did not like that it took the bed to break in order for the children to go to their own room. Sends mix signals, especially if you're the type of parent that puts their kids to bed in their own room every night.
This was quite a cute story about a little bunny, and how he ended up wanting to sleep in his own bed rather than his parents bed. My 4-year-old also liked it.
