Join Dora and Boots as they jump into a fairy tale to save the Snow Princess! They have to save the Snowy Forest from melting away too. But they can't do it without you!
Absolutely and entirely ghastly. No narrative flow. Very much structured like a TV episode. 'I'm here! Now I'm somewhere else! Now I'm over there!'
Unfortunately, both my children really liked it. (*) To quote DD(3), "Dora has a dress!" Who am I to argue?
1 star from me, 5 from them
(*) I do invest a lot of effort into dramatic reading of the material, such as it is. I'd be tempted not to for this bilge, but a) it would be too horrifying if they still enjoyed it and b) I'd be bored to tears otherwise.
This is such a cute, interactive fairy tale-inspired story. Kids can help look for items that Dora and boots need, while helping the Snow Princess escape a tower. My nephew loved reading this!
This book is painful to read. But, engagement levels are high with this book - my kids were chanting "Swiper, no swiping" and playing the parts of pirates (as instructed). So, if you have a child who loves Dora or princesses or magical snowflake fairies, this book is for them.
This is the greatest story for sparkly and shiny people. The illustrations are breathtaking. If you look really hard on a cold part of the book, you might even get a chill. This is a wonderful going to sleep book because it should make the best dreams. It makes a great any time book because, you get to dress up and pretend to be a Princess or Prince. Sabrina helped a white dove caught in a witches trap. She was not expecting a gift, but she received one. The mean witch took the Crystal and made a mean face. The Snow Fairy went to find help to save the Snow Princess and the Snow Animals. Where did he go? What did he do? Who did she ask for help? Oops I answered one of my own questions. You get to read and find out The rest. Enjoy listening/ reading. I know I can't wait to get back to the story and the pretty pictures. I found this book in the Prime Library. You can, too, with Prime
We have a lot of good books and yet this is one of the ones that my kids go back to time and again. I don't know if it's the familiarity from TV or whether they like that Dora, a kid like them, saves the day, but they sure do love it. It's not a bad story, so if your kids love Dora, this is a good one (or good collection) to get for them.
The adventure parts are cool, and I'm glad the witch isn't "ugly", but i wish her nose wasn't noticably bigger than the other human characters, and i definitely wish this story didn't advocate jumping on ("into") books.
Gotta love all the Dora books. This is set just like the tv show so there can be so much interaction while reading. Gotta call map and save the princess. As my daughter says when we read this I want to jump in a book too, it would be such an adventure.
