Finding Cinderella #1

Finding Cinderella Part One: The Search

Rate this book
Kylie Harris can’t stand Tristan Hartford, so-called “Prince” of Broadway Heights. Handsome, popular, and arrogant, he loves nothing more than flirting with the ladies—and making Kylie’s life a living hell. He plays pranks on her, insults her in front of the whole school... the works! Tristan knows that everyone in school adores him—except for Kylie, the school’s resident “one of-the-guys” gal and the only one immune to his God-given charm. She also seems to hate it whenever he breaks up with his girlfriends. Everything changes when Tristan meets “Cinderella,” the mysterious girl at the Valentine’s Ball. She hastily left before her dance with him was over—before he could even get her name. And now he’s obsessed. He must find her. But as he begins his search for Cinderella, he also slowly discovers what Kylie truly means to him. Will Tristan continue the hunt for the mysterious girl? Or will he choose to unmask his feelings for Kylie instead?

I like how the story flows. I love the way they fight with each other. Therr are certain lines that made me laugh. The story is well-defined and the characters are well-built. But there are times that I dislike Kylie's character. She seems so distant to Tristan that I always wonder if there was even something between them. And I was hoping that as I get further, she will finally let Tristan in her life no more hard to get. But that didn't happen. It's like she always hated him until the end. And I don't like the part when it's as if it's Tristan's fault. I mean how did everything was turned to Tristan. I can't see his fault. But that's how the story ended so I'm hoping for better flow of story in the part two if ever I'll had the chance to read it.

1 star for this:

"So this is like a search party?" Clark asked, his face similar to a person about to witness the apocalypse.
"Yeah, let's call her Cinderella!" Ryo said, causing all of us to stare at him as if he were stupid.
And yes, he really did look stupid, his finger pointed upwards as if there were a light bulb on his head.
"You're a big fan of that story?" I asked with a sneer.
"Iie! I only know that because my little sister forced me to watch the Disney version with her... as well as the Barbie and Bratz movies."
Grey patted him on the back, saying, "I know how it feels, bro. I have a young cousin who's like that, only she goes for Twilight and shit. Anyway, I think Ryo has a point here. The girl's like Cinderella, since no one knows her identity, Tristan is the prince, of course, and we are like... like..."
"The mice," Justin filled in.
"Exactly," Grey nodded, then slapped his forehead when Justin's words sank in. "No, jeez! Why would you compare us to the mice? We're like... like... uh, forget it."

plus another for "Justin Case". The wrong grammar I come across sometimes turns me off...

"I tease you because I love you"

Pulled up the quote because it just reminds me of this novel by a lot. Reading this again, my fond memories of this book during my early days of high school made me realise how great of a book this is. It just has the feels with comedy that will crack your back. This screams my preference, rom-coms that are funny, but with deep emotions.

The first part reminds me of a comic series I used to read and never finished, but this one is more mature and the bully is the guy. The humour sprinkled across the book are funny AF. One could not get bored reading the book, and you'll continued to craved for more. The author is also "cultured", dropping random pop culture references (mainly Western ones). The romance overall is also great with how the dynamics of Kylie and Tristan being lovely.

It's negative aspects are of being too cliché and not too authentic. The settings feel like a very imaginative version of America. This is something that could be expected when the author is not an American. While its impact is minor, I did notice it it felt slightly cringe. Of course, this novel is really clichéd. This contains the common archetypes and stereotypes that are a hallmark of Filipino romance popular and contemporary literature. While that is the case, it does bring out the comedy more making it a fun of a book.

Funnily, this book also reminds me of Pride and Prejudice with Kylie being the prejudiced and Tristan being the prideful.

A 5 out of 5! On to the part 2!

(Actual rating: 4.5 stars) Hear me out, is it flawed? Yes. Did it make me happy? Yes. I’m in a bit of a reading slump and this book was something I had no trouble reading. Tristan and Kylie were both adorable, and although Kylie was a “tomboy” I still enjoyed it and i was glad that she didn’t put other girls down. This is a review on both books by the way, I read them as one copy.

"It's really incredible to think that your heart can always tell who you're in love with even when your eyes don't recognize who they are."

Finding Cinderella but he didn't even have a clue that the one he was searching for is totally a person that he know. His own enemy.

Den var bra. Jag gillar karaktärerna. Förrutom att Kylie var lite för över beskyddande över Lacey.

Firstly, I just wanna seize this opportunity to congratulate all our awesome writers who get their books published! Woohoooo! Congrats you guys!

Anyways, so this is the first ever Watty book I read in paperback yay! I have been a Wattpad reader since college days pa and I admit I had a few favorites. But now that I am working already, I don't have the time anymore as much as I had back then that I wasn't able to check Wattpad for the updates. So having them published is super convenient! Thank you, Pop Fiction! :) (Daming segue!! Hahahaha)

And I must say, Finding Cinderella is such a good read!! Totally worth your every penny! I soooo love Tristan and Kylie's clashes it reminds me of my high school days hahaha! I remember tweeting @raindrops_ yday after I finished The Chase that I totally dig couples who fight and asked her if I was being weird? And guess what? She replied! Haha cool beans. 

I just enjoyed this book so much! And I suggest you read it, too if you're up for some feel-good vibe story. :)

PS. And oh, let us support our own writers. Yeah! Fighting! 

It was amazing! I really liked this beautifully written modern Cinderella story.
This book started with a rivalry between the 'princess' and the 'prince' before they soon fell in love.

There's a process from enemies, to frenemies, to friends, to best friends, and finally to lovers & official couple.
The story flows smoothly like a river and just...wow!

Although the ending was a bit cheesy, I liked it. My favorite character are Lacey, Kylie, Ronnie, Tristan, Ryo and Clark.

Lacey x Clark, Kylie x Tristan and Ryo x Ronnie are great matching couples! Love them so much! Best Cinderella cover book ever!

Keep up the awesome work! :D

The story is a cliché and quite predictable yet I still found this story good. Although I don't like Kylie's character because of how childish, slow and naive she was; Tristan's character on the other hand is much better for me. I already read and watch some movies with the same plot so I don't found any remarkable on this novel. But, I should reiterate that I found this story good and I did enjoyed reading it.

I was only able to read the book from Wattpad but I was hooked from the first page to the last. I didn't mind grammatical errors in the book but focused on the story itself. I look forward to reading the paperback edition though. This is one of the coolest YA books on Wattpad. =)

Not bad, if you're the romance-y type.

Honestly, I tend to lean toward these when I want a good laugh, and it definetely delivers.
