Can she learn to accept the truth?
Or will she let her fears consume her, leaving her with no choice but to walk away?
Six months ago their future began.
Today, it's about to get rocked.
**Note: This is a Midnight Fate Novel. It can be read as a STANDALONE or enjoyed with Rock the Boat.
Bestselling author Gia Riley has been in love with writing romance since high school when she took her very first creative writing class. From the small but mighty state of Delaware, she’s a country girl at heart, traveling back to her roots in Pennsylvania as often as she can.
She’d rather pick truth than dare, bake than cook, and will always choose coffee over tea.
Just like life, her stories are real and full of feels. You'll probably need some tissues. You might even want to throw your Kindle a couple times. But she promises to put your heart back together.

Rock the City brings us the story of Noelle and Lane. For those that don’t remember, Lane is the drummer for Midnight Fate and Noelle is Lark’s bestie who talked her into the cruise, hoping to find true love. There was a hint of a blooming romance between these two as we closed out the book one, but now we get to see it from their point of view.
I did enjoy this story but I sort of wanted it to begin at the start for these two. I love the anticipation of the relationship forming. That first encounter, the tension and the finally the coupling and falling in love. For Lane and Noelle we sort of leaped right into their story. There is a brief moment where we see their first encounter, but then we are suddenly 6 months into their long distance relationship and them already sort of being in love. I really missed being able to watch their story develop along the way.
Overall it was still an enjoyable read and we did get a good dose of drama as the story continued – so the love story wasn’t just cut and dry for these two... but I just didn’t get to form that connection with them that I really need in a romance.

I gave this book 4.5 stars!
This book was more than what I was expecting. Lane and Noelle have off the charts chemistry. There is twist, turns and very HOT sex scenes. Lane and Noelle both have to come to terms with their past and their demons. When push comes to shove can these two have their HEA?
The emotions are real, raw and gritty. Be fore warn that you might need a tissue or two. The storyline deals with everyday real situations. Once you pick it up, you want to put it down.

Thank you so very much Sassy Savvy Fabulous for sending me a copy of Rock The City!! I'm very honored and grateful!! :)
5 Various forms of Love Stars!!
This was my first time reading Ms.Riley's work and I absolutely enjoyed it! I honestly had no clue what to expect when I first started reading and as the story progressed I was anxious to find out what would happen next for the two main characters. It was sweet, frustrating, heartbreaking, funny, and sexy as sin!! I really liked the fact that this book wasn't about a romance that was easy but rather it was about one that had flaws and was very raw.
It was an emotional story with secrets that left me stunned but it really showed the power of relationships whether it be between friends, a significant other, or family. During some points I became a bit angry with some of the characters but i liked that they provoked an emotion out of me. Ms.Riley really stole my heart with this extremely beautiful and engaging story! I'm definitely picking up Rock the Boat as soon as possible!! :)
Noelle Nash was a character that really didn't have the best of luck in the love department and her will to find it was admirable. She was one of those heroines that I knew right off the bat that I was going to adore her. Her humor was so unique and just added to her great personality. She was compassionate with a mouth to rival any sailors. Noelle always put 100% into any friendship or relationship she had. I loved her friendship with Lark. In my opinion her determination and selflessness made her such a kick butt character. I hoped that in the end she would experience a love that she always wanted.
Lane Lewis was a character that was a drummer for the band Midnight Fate. During the beginning i liked him quicker than I've liked most hero's. As the story progressed i couldn't help but want to figure out the things that led him to being where he was in life. He had demons and secrets that were all too consuming at times. I could have smacked him a few times but I understood why he did the things that he did even I didn't agree with them at the time. I liked that he proved me wrong and finding out how big his heart was left me a swooning mess. He was so different in a great way. His fame and fortune didn't define him. I liked all of his friendships with his bandmates especially Easton. He went through a lot in his life and he deserved happiness.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a read that's about much more than just a romance but how connecting with someone emotionally can alter your life forever. It really includes pretty much every feeling under the sun and that's what hooked me. I'm looking forward to picking up the first book so I can spend time with some of the characters again! If you haven't already One-Clicked this book Buy it Today! You won't regret it!! 5 Stars all around!! :)
Rock the City is the second book in A Midnight Fate series. This is the first book I've read by this author and was told it could be read as a standalone. I felt that I was missing some key points by not reading book one. I do plan on reading the first book, Rock the Boat, to hopefully answer some of those lingering questions.
This book is the focus of Lane Lewis, the drummer for Midnight Fate. He met Noelle Nash just before the band was to go on tour six months prior to where this story takes place. This was one of the times I felt slightly lost, like I was missing out on a part of the their relationship. They are already together as a couple and are finally back together after being apart for the six months while the band was on tour. Sure they talked and video chatted daily while Lane was on the road. This was occasionally discussed showing how it helped build their relationship.
They each have skeletons in their closet that they don’t share with each other even during these many nights of talking. As we all know, they have a way of resurfacing and have to be handled.
The story was told in alternate points of view and I liked how the author didn’t switch it up every other chapter. She also did do a great job in incorporating the past with the present as we were on the roller coaster ride of events taking place. There were times I was so frustrated at some of the things Lane or Noelle did or didn’t do I had to walk away as to not throw my kindle. There were some great twists and suspense as well in the story. I am left with some lingering questions about some of the events. I felt like the author did forget to address them again later in the book which is why I’m not able to give this the 5 star rating it could easily be if revised.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series and more from this author as I did enjoy her writing style.
Rock The City is the second book in the exciting Midnight Fate series, but can totally be read as a stand-alone. Told from dual points of view, Rock The City follows the story of Noelle and Lane. Noelle is a hopeless romantic, but life has made her question her feelings on love. It wasn’t until Lane came around that she was willing to give love another try. Lane makes her want things she never thought possible and now she will do anything to hold on to that. But, being in love with a famous rockstar isn’t easy. Lots of jealousy and possessiveness come with the territory. Noelle must decide if she can put her fears aside and go after what she really wants. And when the truth comes out about a secret that Lane has been keeping, Noelle will have to make the biggest decision of her life….
Rock The City was such a great read. It was captivating and entertaining all at the same time. I had already fallen in love with most of the characters when they were introduced in Rock The Boat and this book just solidified my love for them even more. Noelle and Lane’s story was not an easy one. Their road to HEA was tough. The two of them had a lot to learn when it came to relationships. They both had a lot of obstacles thrown their way; things that would really test their love and relationship. But, that’s one of the things that I really loved about these two. They had a very strong connection from the very beginning and they worked really hard on making things work. Their problems were real and I think that made them even more relatable to me.
Rock The City is a great follow up to Rock The Boat. Once again, I totally got lost in this world that Gia Riley has created and devoured this book in just a few short hours. This story was well-written and I loved the way that the stories interconnected. So, if you’ve read the first book, some familiar faces will make an appearance; and I have to say, I was stoked about that. That being said, if you haven’t read the first book, I promise, this one is super easy to follow and you will not be feeling lost.
Rock The City had the right mix of romance, steam, drama, and angst. And it also had some really great twists along the way. Gia Riley has done a fantastic job with this series and I’m excited to see where it will take us next.
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
I loved it! It was a little more serious than I thought but no less interesting. I liked the story. I'm already in love with the amazing characters from "Rock the Boat" so that hasn't changed. It's quite well-written and very entertaining book.
Lane has a dark past about which no one knows. He doesn't want to revisit it. And now he has found Noelle, a beautiful woman whom he can easily love. She is perfect for him and in his heart he knows that she is the one. The only problem seems to be her unwillingness to leave her life behind for him. They have tried long distance relationship and so far it is working. Now it's time for them to be together.
Noelle knows that she must give Lane a chance. But has made a life for herself and it scares her to think about moving away. What if they didn't work? Where would she go then? In any case she is taking a break from work and visiting Lane in the city. Some time together, and they may finally figure their relationship out.
When Noelle reaches the city and is with Lane at last things doesn't go as they anticipated. Apparently there are many challenges which they must face before they can convince their hearts that they belong together.
It is a sweet and romantic story, with laugh-out-loud moments as well as cry-like-a-baby moments. It's both sad and happy, a perfect mix. I loved reading it and would definitely recommend to all romance lovers especially if you like your characters with a dark past.
This book was so incredibly good and very different from most rockstar books. This book.had way more meaning and real life issues in it. It doesn't revolve around guy searching for his next hook up. This is going down as one of my favorite reads so far this year. I only wish I had a chance to read book 1 already. I will definitely be going back to do that ASAP!
Lane grew up in very poor conditions as a child. He made it out of that life alive and made something of himself. He decided he would never be like the awful parents that brought him into this world. I have so much love and respect for him. He actually cares about people and being the better person.
Noelle is a hoot. She will have you laughing, crying, and wanting to reach out and hug her. She is one incredibly strong woman that loves fiercely and deeply. I truly admire her character.
Lane and Noelle are extremely happy together until the past comes and throws a wrench in their lives. The battle that follows will have you laughing, crying, sad, mad, happy, and every other emotion you can think of. This book is truly one of the most well rounded books I've read. I'm so happy to have come across this amazing author.
WOW!!! Just wow!!! I was so excited to learn that Noelle and Lane were getting there own book! Noelle was such a spitfire in Rock the Boat and j couldn't wait to learn more! And Lane, I so enjoyed getting to know him more and seeing what an amazing guy he absolutely was! The man knows how to love, and he loves strongly and fiercely! And that's exactly the kind of guy Noelle has always wanted and needed! These 2 are perfection! They both have their secrets and they both have their flaws but that is what makes both of them and their story so beautiful! I'm not sure I've actually read a book with as much love in it as this story! And it's not just between Noelle and Lane! And don't worry, you get to see Dom, Easton, Gina, and Lark too! If you liked Rock the Boat you are going to LOVE Rock The City! I'm so in love with Lane and Noelle and this kick ass story!!!
~~*:Reviewed by Bethany:*~~ Rock the city can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading Rock the Boat first, it will set up the characters that you will see in this book, but will not take away from Lane & Noelle's story if you don't.
Everyone is back on dry land, but the "rocking" is not stopping yet...it is just getting started. Lane & Noelle are about to be tested on what they handle from their past and how it will affect their future. Things are going to change for both of them in a very big way. You will need to read the book to know if the city is rocked in a good or bad way. It was a great ride. What will Gia "rock" for us next? I cannot wait to find out!!
I was a huge fan of Rock the Boat and I not so patiently waited for more Midnight Fate. Lane Lewis was a true hero who happened to be melted sex on a stick. I loved Noelle and the vulnerability she hid with her dirty mouth. The chemistry between them was combustible and the love they shared was beautiful. Gia gave us another beautifully written story of love that conquers all the odds.
Rock the City is a wonderful thunderstorm that is sure to sink its nails into your heart and send you on an emotional roller coaster.
This is more than just a romance or two people falling in love. Its discovering your future and fighting for it even when unforseen obstacles threaten that future. Its about real life because nothing is perfect, bad shit happens, and you must learn to stick it out through the storm. That is what Rock the City is all about. Yes, you still get steamy sex scenes and a very swoon worthy hero, a filthy mouthed, badass female heroine, and even a little bit of rock music, but it is sooo much more than that. Reading this book felt like I was getting three books in one and it meshed perfectly.
Rock the City is Lane (the drummer of Midnight Fate) and Noelle's (Larks best friend) story. I loved that their relationship is already established and Gia did a perfect job detailing how their relationship came about and how they maintained a long distance relationship wile Lane was touring. So the story begins when the tour ends and Noelle goes to New York to spend two weeks with Lane after he's been on tour for 6 months. Everything is perfect with the couple until its not and everything gets in the way of their time together. Let me just say that these are my favorite characters in the entire world. They are perfect, flaws and all. Lane says whatever is on his mind, he doesn't hold back his feelings and knows how to communicate and read Noelle. I seriously have not read a book with incredible dialogue, but I give Gia a standing fucking ovation. Noelle is a smart ass, who also says whatever is on her mind and has a filthy mouth dirty mind. Now that's my kind of girl. She is so understanding and sticks by Lane's side no matter the obstacle. She did some incredible things in this book that I will not spoil. But she is a true ride or die.
If you did not read Rock the Boat it's okay, you still get enough of Lark and Easton and I loved every minute they were in this book. While you won't exactly know their background, those who did read Rock the Boat will not be disappointed if they want more Lark and Easton. We even get a little of Dom and Gina. So while the story revolves around Lane and Noelle we still are getting more of other people's story at the same time because it affect the main characters. I loved that while reading this book. There is also a person who gets introduced from Lane's past who will be a big part of the book and it is an epic roller coaster. I cannot express how much this character impacted my emotions and made reading this book so emotional for me. Gia's ability to intertwine different characters stories into that of these two main characters was astounding. I wanted to hug myself when it was said and done and there nothing left for me to do but close the book.
I urge you to pick this book up because it is a heartwarming tale. The writing is beautiful, poetic, and flows easily. You will not want to put this book down. I laughed, cried, and screamed with giddiness through each page. Rock the City is probably one of the best romance novels I have ever read. I mean I can't even wrap my mind around how amazing the dialogue was all by itself. I live for every word that came out of Lane's mouth and the wisdom and selfless amount of love that Noelle gave to those important to her. So thank you Gia Riley for writing something so amazing and sharing it with me. This book will stick with me for a very long time.
"I'm ready for the lights to dim and the rest of the world to fade away."
Rock the City by Author Gia Riley is book two in the Midnight Fate series but can be read as a standalone. It is a rocker romance novel.
“You don’t have to sell it to me, Lane. I’m a sure thing.”
Noelle is the BFF that we all fell in love with in Rock the Boat, the first book in this series. She always comes to the rescue for those she loves; she just needs someone to rescue her back and Lane may just be the man for the job. He is the swoon-worthy drummer for the rock band Midnight Fate, and hopes he has found his forever in Noelle.
“Maybe it’s time to stop questioning why you’re in my arms and focus on how good it feels to be there.”
I was so excited to enter back into this rocker world. Told in dual points of view, Rock the City was simply an incredible escape that touched my heart and funny bone, leaving me with a never-ending smile on my face and song in my heart. I continually grabbed hold of words and phrases that caused me to have a ceaseless fall, like Alice down the rabbit hole. Noelle was a character that might have fooled me initially. For all of her colorful use of words and occasional sass, she was actually an old soul that sought to nurture and care for those she loved. But, she had the strength of the rays of the sun. When Lane came into her life, her personality fused with his to color the world with their love. Sometimes in romance, one is given angst with continual fault-finding and pessimistic language. One of the beauties of this story was the symbiotic relationship that Lane and Noelle had. They were a strength to each other in situations which they could have detracted from the other.
“Lane rescued me when I thought I wasn’t worthy of love. When I was positive I’d go on being invisible, he told me differently. He showed me I was enough for him.”
There were so many delicate subjects that Author Gia Riley touched on in this book. But each was done with a gentle caress of a mother's touch, allowing character qualities to be highlighted, and light to overcome the darkness.
“…what I did see, I never wanted to lose. What I haven’t seen, I can’t wait to experience.”
Rock the City had everything, laughter, tears, highs, lows, endearing and unforgettable characters, and a happily ever after. It doesn't get any better than this.
“When you need me, I’ll be in your heart, and I’ll meet you every night in your dreams.”
Rock the City is a beautifully written book and Gia Riley did an amazing job pulling her readers right into it. So many emotions and real life situations that kept me interested and turning the pages. This book was so much better than I expected it to be and I loved it! Who doesn't love a sexy, sweet, badass rocker? I know I do!
Lane Lewis, the drummer for Midnight Fate, meets Noelle Nash, a gorgeous spitfire with a dirty mouth that he can't get enough of, on a cruise and they spend an amazing few days together. Both wanting more than just those few days, they decide to push their fears aside and try out a long distance relationship while he is on tour with his band.
Lane wanted so badly for Noelle to come on tour with him, but she felt as though she couldn't leave her life and work behind for that amount of time. Although they both wish they could be together in the physical sense, this long distance deal is working out great and they feel that it's brought them closer than they thought possible. So with her best friend being married to the lead singer of Midnight Fate and knowing when and where the guys will be when the tour ends, Noelle is headed out to surprise Lane with an early arrival to her two week stay.
Six months is a long time to be on tour and apart. What happens when Lane and Noelle reunite? Has not seeing each other for so long take its toll on their first impressions of each other? Does anything change between them or will they ignite just as strongly as the night they parted? Will two weeks be enough and if it isn't, will one of them have to give up something they cherish to be together? I strongly recommend you read and find the answers for yourself.
Gia Riley's 'Rock the City' is a powerful love story that not only tells the struggles of the couple but also the secondary characters that impact this couple's life so much that the story wouldn't be complete without them. I loved how Gia wrote about Lane and Noelle's pasts, insecurities, and what scared them most about being in a serious relationship and showed us that these fears can be faced and overcame with the help of those who love them. These situations are real and people face them everyday but we never truly know about them unless we experience them ourselves and this author helped us understand just a little better. I will definitely be reading more from Gia. 5 stars all the way!!
Is there a better way than to start reading a book and get addicted after reading only the prologue? With this beginning this book promises. "Rock the City" is the second book of the series "The Midnight Fate Novel" and I have been waiting for so long that the expectation was very high because after reading "Rock the Boat" I was afraid that this book could not take a special place in my heart but I was so wrong, this story will leave you breathless. Gia Riley has a simple and appealing way to write, the chapters are not too long and because the book toggle between two point of views from the main characters of this plot makes reading enjoyable and pleasurable. This is the story of Lane and Noelle. Lane is the drummer of the band Midnight Fate, band that we get to know on the first book in this series. Lane is charismatic, carefree and obsessed with Noelle. He had a tragic childhood and his adolescence was also not a bed of roses, adolescence that he wants to forget because it hurts too much to remember and that is why he chooses not to talk about it. Noelle is a hopeless romantic, a successful entrepreneur and her best friend is Lark, who is married to Easton, the lead singer of the band. Thanks to her, Lark and Easton met up and she longs to be able to live a fairy tale like them, despite the reservations that she can feel, because let's be honest, who would not want to find their prince charming. Will they be able to overcome these obstacles and be happy? Overcome their insecurities and uncertainties and surrender completely to love, a relationship the two? This book gripped me from page one. The feeling, love, loss, family and happiness is in great emphasis in this book. There were parts that I laugh a lot, because the interaction between the cast was hilarious, but there were also parts where I wept and thrilled me. In contrast there were other parts where I needed to go take a very cold shower because the hot scenes were many and very intense, as we all like to read. Overall this book is a wonderful story of love, acceptance, forgiveness and achievement. We all go through hard times in life, but how we deal with these setbacks is what defines us and all deserve a second chance in life. I recommend "Rock the Boat" and "Rock the City" to all fans of music, love and happiness
I love when stories take an unexpected twist and go in a different direction than you expected. Rock the City transformed into a story that was heartfelt, centered on family and trust. I was extremely curious what the story would be about when the couple in the book was already established. Noelle was one of my favorite characters from Rock the Boat and the fact she gets her own story was wonderful!
Rock the City starts with a prologue that sets the stage. A mutual attraction and spark is presented in a way that creates a foundation for this couple. When the book begins we are already six months into their relationship. When that timeline was shared, I was surprised and wondering where the story would end up. Most stories in this genre are about two people meeting and falling in love. That had already taken place and Gia was ready to take us future into their story. This made the book a novelty in the romance genre, one I was excited to experience.
Lane and Noelle were great together. Their constant flirting and passion solidifies them as a couple you love. This again made me curious about their story since, in my mind, it was obvious they were solid. The best part about this book is that it is this couple against the world. Their connection and deep rooted love is a primary focus and they weather the storms of life together. That is the key word. Together. They faces the demons and realities of Lane’s past together, ones that were a refreshing set of problems that set this book apart from the genre.
This story is steeped in emotion. There is heartbreak and anguish from the past and uncertainty and pain in the present and future. Gia writes emotion into her stories so well. It is not overly angsty and eye roll inducing. Instead it is heartfelt and true. You understand the reaction and emotion, something that is natural in this book. A bonus in this book was the ever evolving story of Lark and Easton from Rock the Boat. The theme of community and family is vital to this book and we see that in a fun way with the secondary characters. Everything you want in a story is presented in a beautiful package, one that left me smiling and content in the end!
Just when I thought Gia Riley couldn't surprise me, she puts out Rock the City. Full of heart, heat, humor and hope this is my new favorite from Riley. The main reason being Noelle. If you've read Rock the Boat then you know all about this firecracker. I was pleased to see the rest of Midnight Fate along for the ride in this one too. Easton and Lark make a few hilarious appearances that gave this book the lightness it needed.
From her sharp tongue to her soft heart you can't help but love Noelle. As I got to know more and more about her adventurous spirit and the harsh reality she lived through I found myself rooting for her to get her happy even more. She is a perfect balance of sassy and sweet. Thank goodness for Lane and his patience- and his ability to speak "Noelle". He got her on a level that no one else did. With a simple look or touch he was able to calm her and make her feel safe. They were both so ready to re-connect after so much time apart but you know what they say about best laid plans.... It was the addition of an unexpected character that proved to be the biggest yet most gratifying challenge for both Lane and Noelle.
I can't say too much more without giving away all the goods but just know that I flew through Rock the City. I was hooked from the first page and didn't want it to end when I got to the last. Gia Riley shocked and delighted me with the touch of danger she threw into the pages. It was nice to see that addition to her writing and she handled it perfectly. It wasn't overdone and hit just the right note. This book is real and honest and proves the power of family and love. And that ending- oh my happy heart- it was absolute rockin' perfection!
I have read a few of Gia's books (understatment of the year!) Haha and I have to say this one is one of my favorites! Its fresh and intense right from the start. Yes, it seems like some instalove and I know that bothers some people but all I have to say is that sometimes lightning strikes when you meet that one person and it feels like the stars align and time speeds up but stops all at the same time. And experiencing that from Lane and Noelle's perspective is one of the strengths of Gia's writing style.
I'm not typically a huge fan of the music business kind of stories but I knew I was in safe hands with this author so I was down for taking a journey with these characters. It was a lot more intense than I thought it was gonna be from the outset the story just grabs a hold and keeps you hooked from beginning to end. You get some comedic moments like the one between Noelle and her bestie Lark in the very first chapter and it was so something me and my best friend would say to each other that I definitely gigglesnorted a couple times.
This story is one you continue to think about long after you finish it. Its one of those that have unforgettable characters and storylines like much of Gia's work but this one seems to go above and beyond. I would love to know more about what happens next for these characters. Definitely another 5 star read from a author I trust to give me a excellent read.
Gia Riley brings us Rock the City a Midnight Fate Novel. I read Rock the Boat and liked it, so I couldn't wait to Lane and Noelle's story. Ok so I'll be honest and admit that it took me a little bit to get into the story, then BAM! Gia hits me with the drama! Just what I needed. At this point I wanted to throat punch someone! I don't want to give to much away. Noelle Nash has a dirty mind and a sarcastic mouth that you will find hilarious. Now that her best friend has found love, Noelle is starting to think its not on the cards for until she meets Lane, the drummer from Midnight Fate. These two are obviously made for each other, Lane is a sensitive soul who has not had the easiest life and his past catches up with him. Can Noelle deal with his past and want it brings? I did enjoy their story, but I wish it would've showed a more of the beginning when they met, I love the build up of a relationship forming from the start. I loved Noelle, while she's sarcastic, she noes how to be a true friend. The chemistry between her and Lane is hot! It's like they were made for each other. The banter between them was funny and hot. Not to mention the passion between these two is so damn hot!! All in all it was a good read. Gia's words just seemed to flow. I look forward to what she has in store next!
I can't get over how much I enjoyed the journey Gia Riley took me on in Rock with City. It was one million times better than I could've ever imagined. I love when a book's plot completely overwhelms me with it's awesomeness.
Lane and Noelle hooked up on the boat cruise but then went back to their regular lives. Him as a rock star and her as a hair salon owner. Only now they are committed to each other and dealing with a long distance relationship. After months filled with phone calls and quick visits here and there, they're finally getting to spend two weeks together without any work distractions.
Filled with anticipation and excitement, they both know this is a big visit and could determine the future of their relationship. However, nothing works out as planned - seriously, NOTHING. One dramatic event after another hits them almost from the start. Each incident draws you further into their complex and emotional relationship; leaving both the characters and you hoping that they can figure everything out.
I don't want to give away too much about what they go through or accidentally reveal some of the jaw-dropping surprises that filled the pages of Rock the City. But I can tell you this book is filled with incredible characters who lead exceptional lives and that every chapter is filled with twists and turns that made for exceptional reading.
I would definitely recommend Rock the City as well as Rock the Boat. They are fun and entertaining stories that I really liked. One click these romances today!
I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
Lane, drummer for one of the hottest bands Midnight Fate. Noelle, fan of the band and also best friend to the lead singers wife. Fate that they meet on a cruise where the band is playing and instantly they are drawn together. Both fall and desperately try to resist it, because lets face it long distance relationships rarely work and have even less chance when the guy is a rock star right? I really enjoyed this book, and i loved that they were both in their late 20's. Noelle was a spitfire for sure, but she also had issues and demons. Lane is just wow !! That man loves hard, and perfectly. He's Loyal, he's funny, he's got the biggest heart, and i loved getting to know him and his past. I loved how their relationship developed, the chemistry and passion between them leapt right out of the pages. Lane had issue's and a past too, and they both struggled to try to protect the other from their pasts tearing them apart. When their pasts collide with their present, its hard to know if they can survive it. This book captivates you from the start, it has characters that you just fall in love with. It has drama it has emotion, it has passion, it has angst, it has everything you want to take you right into their world and hope you survive it right along with them. My heart broke for both Noelle and Lane in places. Yep i think Lane and Noelle have definitely found a lil place in my heart !
I really enjoyed this book, and i loved that they were both in their late 20’s. Noelle was a spitfire for sure, but she also had issues and demons. Lane is just wow !! That man loves hard, and perfectly. He’s Loyal, he’s funny, he’s got the biggest heart, and i loved getting to know him and his past. I loved how their relationship developed, the chemistry and passion between them leapt right out of the pages. Lane had issue’s and a past too, and they both struggled to try to protect the other from their pasts tearing them apart. He had secrets, and so does she, but she's determined to do whatever it takes to hold on to the man she loves. When his past shows back up, will she let her fears stand in the way, and walk away?
I LOVED Noelle and Lane's emotional story! The character development is great, with a hilarious cast of secondaries. A fast paced, emotional, and well written storyline flows very smoothly. Noelle and Lane's flammable chemistry EXPLODES into SCORCHIN' HOT sexy scene goodness everytime they are in the same room, and well placed humor, (Noelle's dirty mouth and rope), had me laughing until my stomach hurt. Gia Riley's talented writing style had me hooked from the beginning, took me on an emotional ride, and had me wanting to beg for more by the end. Her twists and turns made for surprise OMG moments that had me yelling so loudly that I'm positive my neighbors think I'm insane. I cannot wait to read more of her books, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Gia has become a favorite cause she writes with the double thoughts of her main characters so you don't have to wonder what the others point of view is. the writing flows nicely and easy to follow. ** Reviewed for Sweet & Spicy Reads - ARC provided for a honest review ***
Lane the drummer of Midnight's Fate has been in love while on tour. Not an easy thing to do for a man surrounded by free everything, just waiting for the taking. He knows what is waiting for him and he plans on making it last forever. If only he can get past his past and letting his girl know all of him and not run. Noelle the groupie and bestie of Midnight's Fate's wife if head over heels for her drummer. After waiting fro him to come off his tour, now comes the moment when the are face to face for more than a night. Secrets are gonna blow up and emotions are going to be made real. Can love carry them through the rough bumps ahead for them? This is a story that has more that just rocker drama, no. We have danger, heat, secrets, and pasts that can break the normal couple not strong enough to withstand it all. I love then both. Their strength and unyielding love for one another is what shines through in this exciting novel. Oh and the comedy, I mean who could not laugh at the antics that Lane's band mate get up to? The sadness of their pasts will break your heart but that is the beauty of this book, just when your heart is breaking Lane does something that will not only melt it but heal it in the next breath. Proving big bad rockers are not only music GOD's they are Angels as well.
Rock The City is the second book in the Midnight Fate series and follows Lane, the bands drummer, and Noelle. We met both characters in Rock the Boat and it was nice to come back to see what happened after the cruise where they met. Noelle and Lane are both well developed characters that you enjoy spending time with and want to root for as they face the challenges of life. Initially, it seems like the drama is going to center around how they are going to manage to physically be together after the band's break is over. It doesn't take long before Lane's past sweeps in upending their blissful reunion. Ms. Riley did an excellent job of weaving relationship growth and development into the emotional and slightly suspenseful story. I enjoyed the fact that most of the drama and conflict issues were things that Lane and Noelle were facing together. But, they weren't perfect and had moments of tension between themselves too. Technically, this is a stand alone book and someone new to the series could probably start here, but having read Rock The Boat first would help with knowing more about Noelle and several of the secondary characters. Having read both Rock the Boat and Rock the City, I am already looking forward to what might be next for the boys of Midnight Fate.
The lady has delivered once again. Excuse me while I just sit here with my jaw hanging open. If Easton had you falling; Lane will make you fall, pick you up, and make you fall again. Gia went ahead and delivered on heck of story. I will sit here and say that I laughed and cried during this book. Noelle is a breath of fresh air, that girl is hilarious. She is so perfect for Lane, she has a way about her that totally has him laughing and enjoying situations. Although, there is one scene that had me dying, poor Lane had no clue what he was getting himself in with Noelle. I wondered why Lane has a rope on the cover of the book, well I found out and I liked it!
Noelle and Lane truly are a wonderful couple, but they will be put to the test. Their relationship is still new and the trials that they will face can change the direction of their happiness. They will have to show how strong they are, the past will be revealed are they strong enough to overcome their demons, their nightmares. Is their happily ever after still within reach or will all the time spent getting to know each other crumble?
I can't tell you all how much I liked the direction of the story and can't wait for the next installment.

This was my first Gia book and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. I fell for the characters immediately! It's a pretty good read with some angst and all the craziness it brings.
Lane the drummer! Have I said how much I love drummers? No? Well I freakin love them. Especially Lane. He's super funny, sweet, and although you wouldn't think it with his broodiness.... romantic. Completely swoon worthy in my book. He has walls around his heart a mile high but once you're in you're there for life. When he loves he loves hard!
Little Miss Noelle is hell on wheels. I laughed at her completely inappropriate outburst through out the entire book. A little spit fire! And her dirty mouth was awesome! It's not often a heroine has a filthier mouth than the main man so it's was a nice change of pace.
I loved Noelle and Lanes banter back and forth. It was super funny. Although there was lots of funny... there was lots more heavy. There was so much angst in these times that a was biting my nails. But that's what hooked me. The ups and downs. This was a good read and I cant wait to catch up on the other books!
Yet another book hangover by Gia! She's left me reeling, with the greedy side of me wanting more! Rock The City was a love story of two people facing obstacles and circumstances that many relationships don't survive. For Lane and Noelle their love only grew stronger. My love for these two was instant! Lane is the hot, alpha drummer for Midnight Fate and Noelle is the quirky and witty girl who has won his heart. When a troubled childhood and past comes face to face with his future, his world is rocked. Noelle too has secrets and a past of her own. Together these two weather their storms. Their dedication to each other was indestructible, their bond unbreakable, and their love for each other untouchable.
Rock The City has it all. Romance, suspense, laughter and tears. Gia has a way to grab you and suck you right into a story. By the time I read the epilogue I had a few tears running down my face. She pulled every emotion out of me with this one. I already know I'll be sitting over here not so patiently waiting for what she brings us next. A definite 5 star read that you will fall in love with too.
I devoured this book in a handful of hours because I could not put it down! I fell in love with Gia during Rock the Boat and patiently waited for Rock the City and it did not disappoint. I loved all of the characters in Rock the City. The connection between Lane and Noelle is explosive and makes you want the same relationship. One thing I wish we would've gotten more of is how they bonded all of those months they were apart. It jumps right to 6 months later and I would've loved just a little more detail. The twists and turns in this book will get you! Also, I loved how this was a rocker book, but it wasn't heavily saturated with the band aspect; just little touches here and there of the band. I never expected the last couple chapters and it made my heart hurt. You will love this book! I highly recommend this series and cannot wait to see what Gia has next.
