An interesting book, but one that is amazingly Eurocentric. The Pacific gets short shrift. For the Pacific, it goes something like this...Pearl Harbor, Midway, Invasion of the Philippines/Battle of Leyte Gulf, and Surrender.
Such a lopsided view of what the most important moments of the war make it hard to recommend this book even as a starter, but what it does include is thought-provoking and would be good at a beginner level to get things off to a start for the War in Europe if not much else.
It was a very interesting book about World War 2 facts and info
I chose this rating because if children in a school were learning about world war 2 then it would tell them a lot about it. It is also a book that will remember many, many people, ( especially on Remembrance Day)!
I am not sufficiently familiar with WWII to say for sure whether these 50 events are really the key events to understand the period, but it seems to do a good job. I think I would prefer a text copy I could flip through over an audio version.
