Frederik Pohl was an influential writer and editor. As an editor he won three Hugo awards for best professional magazine. As a writer he won four Hugo Awards and three Nebulas. Pohl was awarded the title of Grand Master by the Science fiction Writers of America and is a member of the Science Fiction Hall of fame. Collected here are a novel and five stories that helped Pohl carve his name onto the science fiction field. His stories are imaginative and powerful. About the author

Frederik George Pohl, Jr. was an American science fiction writer, editor and fan, with a career spanning over seventy years. From about 1959 until 1969, Pohl edited Galaxy magazine and its sister magazine IF winning the Hugo for IF three years in a row. His writing also won him three Hugos and multiple Nebula Awards. He became a Nebula Grand Master in 1993.

Struck in the head by a Pohl

Serious stories, stories of awe, fun stories. Frederick could write them all & this book has a great sampling. If U like old time Sci Fi, this should hook U on Mr. Pohl.

Great stories.

I really enjoyed these unusual stories by a very good writer, especially The Tunnel under the World. I will look out for more by him.

I've always enjoyed Fred Pohl's work. In this volume his story, "The Day of the Boomer Dukes" is a real standout.
