An 11 year old has his brain written over with the brainwaves of Howard Hughes and now he walks around Manhattan in his private school uniform shooting people who might reveal his dark secret in the face.

It’s my own misconception, but I expected a supernatural element to this book.

Read because it’s listed in Grady Hendrix’s paperback from Hell, it’s easy to forget the fears of the late 70s / early 80s were hangover from WWII. The mistrust of science and the abuse of power and wealth.

I really enjoyed the story but I can’t agree with it being a ‘book of terror’. I’ve no doubt it seemed more scary in the 80’s

I will say, if nothing else, the author did have a weirdly intimate idea of emotions that were pretty well done. But also, the phrase "jauntily dancing breasts" was used, so, take that with a grain of salt.
