"Let's get married!" Rafe Moretti never thought that the woman drinking alone in a certain bar in London would say those words to him so casually. His instinct told him to ignore the woman's offer and focus on his problem. But series of events happened that fateful night and the paparazzi caught them together entering Rafe's hotel building. The last thing he wanted was another scandal attached to his name. He wants to clear the issue as soon as possible but the woman has other plans. She's dead set in marrying him, she even offers to save his family's business if Rafe would marry her in return. Now he wanted to know what's her agenda behind her marriage proposal. And he would uncover it one step at a time.
Finally I finish this series , yes all those which are written . I cant wait for the sixth book. Hell , I can read all those chapters which includes Marco even those where he is not the protagonist . This guy is lethal for my heart .
A fun read. Coco as a character is so real that most of the time I always feel like she's a friend I always hang out with. I have reservations too like the male lead, Rafe, probably because I also grew up in an environment where traditional values are also upheld, so Coco's brave pursuit overwhelmed me at first. My emotions are really in line with Rafe's. Over time, I couldn't help but appreciate and love Coco. She's such a ball of sunshine and is a total cutie that you can't help but want to protect her happiness. Like the male lead, I also felt so distressed when she felt like she needed to change herself to fit in the standards and expectations of the wife Rafe should have married. I loved his maintenance of her though. He always gave her assurance that she's more than enough the way she is and doesn't need to change. Honestly, out of the male leads so far in the series, Rafe is really on top. His emotional intelligence is high and even if he doesn't understand some things at times, he makes the effort to understand and do the right thing. He always makes sure that Coco is provided with love and care that she deserves even though he couldn't confess his feelings vocally. Given everything he experienced and the fact that he kind of lost faith in love and marriage, it's commendable that he still really tried his best to take good care of his wife's needs, and he was good at it. He really tried to be a good husband for her. Even when they don't see eye to eye on some things, given that as he said, he's a traditional man, and Coco is a modern woman, he never forced her on anything or forced the values he grew up with on her. I love that he's aware that Cocoa is different from the ideal traditional ladies, that she grew up in a different culture, and he respects that.
The misunderstanding in the story could have been avoidable but it was expected. This was the first time that I wished Coco wasn't so impulsive and jumped into conclusions. But it was still understandable since it was already shown throughout a large part of the book that she has some insecurities about issue and was recently provoked. To be honest though, I thought it added unnecessary drama to the book that made it longer, though it was still entertaining to read. I swear that Marco was more restrained in his book, every time he comes out in everyone's story, he seems crazier with more outrageous ideas. It's so funny that he's so invested in their little club and everyone just goes with his plans.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this. It easily climbed to the top 2 in my favorite list in the series. The plot and storyline of The Substitute Bride is still smoother for me with no unnecessary twist added, and reading it from start to end was so natural, so it's still my top 1.
Fifth book of Jealous husband series and it my favorite best book ever and this novel will not disappoint you. But make sure you read all the books they have an incredible plot and story line
