JAMES BRAVO IS MARRYING HIS DREAM WOMAN. THERE'S JUST ONE CATCH…

He also isn't the father of Addie Kenwright's unborn baby—even if her grandfather thinks he is. James has never stolen so much as a kiss from the beautiful rancher…but all that changes when he and Addie say "I do."

Three times burned is enough to put a single woman off wedlock forever. Addie only agreed to this crazy scheme to appease her ailing grandpa. Terrific romance with an unusual start. The book opens with James face-to-face with Addie's grandfather, who is holding a shotgun pointed at him. Levi is convinced that James is the father of Addie's baby and determined that James will do the right thing. James is confused because he's never even had the chance to kiss her, much less sleep with her, though he definitely wants to get to know her better. Things get even more interesting when Addie arrives home and sees what her grandfather is up to, and he has a heart attack while she's yelling at him.

Let me start out by saying that I loved Levi. He was quite the interesting character. He's very old-fashioned and when he discovers that Addie is pregnant, he zeroes in on the man that he sees making eyes at her. He is stubbornness personified and nothing Addie says will convince him otherwise. His use of his recovery to force the issue was quite a risk. Later on, I loved seeing him dealing with Lola, the live-in nurse, with an interesting twist at the end. He comes through for Addie with some well-timed advice.

James has been yearning after Addie for months. He's built a house on land right next to hers, and they frequently talk when she's out riding. I loved his calmness in the face of chaos during the shotgun incident and heart attack. It was his chance to be there for Addie when she needs him. I loved his attempt to convince Levi, and how he ended up telling Addie he's willing to go through with the wedding to help her out.

Addie complains about Levi's stubbornness, but she is right up there with him. I had to laugh at her frustration as she tried to convince him of the truth about her baby. She's had three serious boyfriends and each time she's ended up left behind. She no longer trusts herself to pick out a man who won't leave her brokenhearted. She's attracted to James, but wary of opening her heart again. She agrees to the marriage, but only a temporary one until her grandfather is better.

I loved the development of their relationship. The chemistry between them is strong, and they dive right into that, while still trying to protect their hearts. Over the next couple months they settle in to what seems like a terrific marriage. James is quick to realize that he wants to continue the marriage. I loved seeing him try to let Addie know how he feels. Addie also realizes that she loves him, but she her fears cause her to push him away. James shows amazing understanding and patience while he waits for her decision. Once she accepts her feelings and sees that she's the one running away, she can finally open her heart to James's love. I loved her way of showing him that she was ready to face the future with him, it was so adorable. I look forward to seeing their progress in future books.

James Bravo’s Shotgun Bride by Christine Rimmer is a 2016 Harlequin Special Edition publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This latest installment in the ‘Bravo’ series starts off with a bang… literally!

Are there real shotgun weddings anymore? James Bravo discovers the answer to that question the hard way after he is tied to a chair and held at gunpoint by Addie Kenwright’s grandfather, a man who is tired of seeing the women in his family abandoned by men, left to raise their babies alone. So when he notices Addie experiencing the symptoms of pregnancy he aims to make sure the father steps up and does the right thing by Addie and the baby.

But, is the James the baby daddy?

Addie has sworn off men forever after having her heart broken too many times. But, with her PawPaw dying, she has to do whatever it takes to get him to fight for his life. So, although James is not the father of her child she agrees to marry him, but will they will only be together long enough for grandfather to fully recover.

Will that be long enough for James to convince Addie to give love one more try?

This story is a terrific addition to this series. It’s cute, sweet, with just the right amount of spice. I loved James from start to finish. He is SO nice, patient, kind, and absolutely dreamy! Addie? Well, if her grandfather was stubborn, then Addie was cut from the same cloth. She was so obstinate at times, I wondered how James managed to stay so calm. But… love is patient, right?

PawPaw was a hoot, a great character with a big heart, who loved his granddaughters, and only wanted them to be happy, even if his methods of helping them were a little… unorthodox.

The moral to the story is a good one- never give up on love. Everybody plays the fool sometimes, but the right person is out there. Sometimes you have to have a little more faith, but love will always find you.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one, and I think it’s one of the best books in the series that I have read.

4.5 stars

This was a decent book that could have been a lot better. I have to say that the repetition drove me nuts. The same thoughts over and over and over again...I just can't handle that...especially when they seem somewhat senseless. Sometimes you just have to get over yourself and your mistakes and take a leap of faith.

If it weren't for the repeating so often it would have been a great book. It could have easily been a five star.

The book "James Bravo ' s Shotgun Bride"  is a new spin on the classic shotgun bride  story. Addie Kenwright and James Bravo have been circling around as friends that secretly want more for a while now. Addie's also been  carrying a little secret. She's pregnant but the surprise is it isn't James's baby but an old friend who recently passed away. Addie's grandfather, Levi doesn't let a little thing like paternity stop him from knocking James's out and threatening him with a shotgun trying to force James to marry Addie. However, Levi is interrupted by having a heart attack before getting the couple to agree to marry. Don't think that having to be carried away in ambulance  will stop ole Levi. He will keep on until he gets his way from his hospital bed by refusing to get better until his demands are met.

For Addie and James, what started out as a marriage of convenience for her grandfather's sake, quickly grows into a real marriage. Sadly, Addie's past relationships with men and life made her jaded and fearful of abandonment.  Addie is afraid to let James know her feelings despite the love she feels for him. In the end, she ends up pushing him away.
What I love about James is that he is steady. He stands by her when she needs him, not only with her grandfather but her unborn baby as well.
At the end of the alloted time for the ending the marriage,  James leaves but with the promise that he loves Addie and he will be waiting on her to come to him when she decides she wants his love.
Eventually, Addie does recognize that she is one who is sabotaging her relationship with James and she goes to him in the cutest way.
" James Bravo ' s Shotgun Bride " is one of the sweetest stories that Christine Rimmer has written. This book is very entertaining with subplots that also grab a reader leaving them wanting more. I would highly recommend this book. Sometimes in love and life we are our own worst enemies. The fear of the past holds us back . It isn't until a person realizes that  they can make a new beginning despite the past that they become free to grab love by the hand like Addie does James.  Thank you, Christine Rimmer, for revamping the shotgun bride scenario and making it your own.

James Bravo’s Shotgun Bride is the first and only book I’ve read from The Bravos of Justice Creek series. I wasn’t too familiar with James Bravo or any of the Bravo history, so at times I was a bit caught off with the introductions of the other family members.

The focus of this story is James, whose forced into a shotgun wedding with Addie Kenwritght by her stubborn Paw Paw. Despite the baby not being his, James enters into the marriage with an open mind. He’s had a big crush on Addie, yet she’s hesitant about taking another shot at love because of being spurned in the past. Will marriage bring the two together? Or will Addie’s past spell a short-lived relationship?

This was a nice, humorous romance story. Paw Paw was my favorite character. His stubbornness provided lots of laughs throughout the book, yet he also had a nurturing side when it came to his granddaughters. James and Addie, I liked their characters, yet I felt like I didn’t have much time to connect with them. I felt that maybe there should’ve been a few extra chapters to help develop their relationship.

Aside from that, it was a good story. It’s a very quick read, but a good one for any romance readers looking for a sweet, funny romance.

James and Addie was friends, but never lovers. Not even kissed her. Yet her Grandfather has him tied up with a shotgun to his head. Said found out Addie is preg. and know he is the father. Expects them to get married. No matter how much that they both tell him he isn't the father, he won't believe it.

Grandfather has a major heart surgery, and looks like Addie may lose him. Think maybe by her marrying James, will ease his pain and help him get well. Is this anyway to start a marriage, that neither had planned on.

One that is hard to put down once you start reading. Would recommend to others.

Christine Rimmer is a talented writer I have followed since I read her Silhouette Book Practically Married back in 1998. James Bravos' Shotgun Wedding is one her best with the humor and touching scenes. The premise is that James Bravo has had his eyes on Addie Kenwright, Being led by shotgun by her grandfather to the wedding is not how he ever imagined proposing. As far as Addie's grandfather is concerned, Addie is expecting and it looks like James is pegged as the father. Addie agree to marry for different reasons. James because he has come to care for Addie and Addie to ease her dying grandfather's stress and give him a reason to live. As time passes will James be able to convince Addie to take their temporary arrangement and make it a lifetime commitment filled with love on both sides?

The laughter arrives with the very beginning and continues along the way. Addie's is stubborn and determined to guard her heart from being broken again. She will have her baby to love and doesn't require a man to complete her world. James uses patience and romance to bring her around to his way of thinking. I loved Paw Paw, he was so sweet. A fast paced adorable story. I loved it from beginning to end. My rating is 5 out of 5 stars.

Every Spring I look forward to Christine Rimmer's new Bravo romance and James Bravo's Shotgun Bride is a wonderful addition to the series!!! The Bravo series is sexy, romantic, and exciting!!! Rimmer's latest Bravo romance is sweet, sexy, romantic, and heartbreaking.
James Bravo is a sexy lawyer recovering from a tumultuous divorce and secretly in love with his beautiful neighbor, Addie Kenwright. Addie is a wonderful, generous, lady who will do anything to help a sick friend but is harboring an intense attraction to her handsome neighbor. Addie is suffering from having been bitten badly by love and, now, twice shy.
You will love James Bravo and Addie Kenwright's love story! Christine Rimmer never disappoints! James Bravo's Shotgun Bride is a heartwarming lovely addition to the Bravo series with a thrilling beginning that will immediately capture your attention! I can't wait for the next romance in the Bravo series!!!

James Bravo’s Shotgun Wedding is the fourth book in Christine Rimmer’s The Bravos of Justice Creek. I’ve read all of the books in the series and I think this is my favorite so far. I immediately fell in love with James. Who couldn’t after he was held at gunpoint and forced to marry his friend, Addie Anne. James is the ideal man—kind, caring and just all around a good man. I liked Addie, as well, although, I wished she would have realized sooner that James was the man that he was. Add in the antics of Levi, Addie’s grandfather, along with Lola, his nurse and this story had it all. I enjoyed seeing many of the characters from past Bravo books. I’ve never read a book by Ms. Rimmer that disappoints me. You can’t go wrong in reading this book or any of the books in the Bravos of Justice Creek series. I’d like to disclose that I received a copy of James Bravo’s Shotgun wedding in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I always am eagerly awaiting a new Bravo book because I have loved all of them. This new addition to the series did not disappoint!!! You read the title and think of your typical Shotgun wedding, but no not this one. It has a spin on it I didn't see coming. The book starts with James tied to a chair, bump on his head(massive headache) with a gun pointed at him. Addie's grandfather is bound and determined James will marry her. You will love Addie's grandfather, he is a hoot!!! But things happen and the twists occur. I loved this new spin on this type of story line. James was so so nice!!! I loved how he just stepped up and took care of Addie, it was so sweet. I highly recommend reading this book even if you haven't read others in this series. There is humor, romance, steam, and such caring people in the book.

Fun, fun, fun! There is nothing NOT to like about Christine Rimmer's newest Bravo book!

Addie is pregnant, but not by James. She's been burned by broken engagements in the past, so is NOT going there again. James is interested in Addie and would like to take things a little further than their discussions on the porch. Levi is NOT HAPPY his granddaughter is pregnant and figures her knows who the culprit is...and so begins a romp that has laughter, tears, and just good fun! Oh, pay no attention to the man with the shotgun!!

I totally enjoyed book. It was interesting, fun, and poignant. Thanks Ms. Rimmer for another excellent read.

Hey everyone, I have to be honest (that is just me) and let you know that this book was dedicated to me. I have been reading Christines books for years so it was pretty cool having a dedication. I have read the majority of all the Bravo books and love this series. Now, how did I like this one??? I think it is one of her best by far (and not because of the dedication). I loved the characters. It is full of surprises, lots of love and heart, lots of fun and a fast read. Paw Paw is an absolute riot. Go get the book and read it to find out who Paw Paw is and what he does.

James Bravo's Shotgun Bride, literally takes you on a "shot-gun" ride. A "crazy" grandfather and the baby of your deceased best friend on the way! I couldn't imagine convincing a stubborn grandfather that your child is the product of IVF...and this is such a fun ride watching it play out. James and Addie are so in love with each other, and so afraid to say so. Very sweet story--would have liked an epilogue to know about the baby, but otherwise a great read! Christine Rimmer doesn't disappoint, she keeps upping her game.

"James Bravo's Shotgun Bride" by Christine Rimmer is part of the series 'The Bravo's of Justice Creek.' It can be read as part of the series or as a read alone. The author does an amazing job in incorporating characters from the other series, but I do recommend the whole series. In this story Addie Kenwright's grandfather has James Bravo tied to a chair in his basement. He's down there because Addie is pregnant and her grandfather wants to make sure that James does right by Addie. The only problem is that the baby that Addie is carrying is not James's.

Another excellent book in the Bravo series! I always enjoy Christine's characters and poignant stories! Addie is pregnant and her crusty grandfather wants her married. Trouble is the man he kidnaps and holds at gunpoint is not the baby's father. As the story plays out, the hero and heroine who are attracted to each other eventually get married to save her granddad's life and that is just the beginning! I'll not add any spoilers! LOL

"Rimmer’s latest Bravos of Justice Creek novel concerns facing, fighting and conquering fears. It’s quirky, old-fashioned and sweet, a real love story to the Western lifestyle. The fantastic co-stars, past series snippets and incredible mile-high backdrops keep the pages turning. The depth and believability Rimmer instills in her couple is brilliant" (4 1/2 stars TOP PICK! @ RT Book Reviews).

James can be an eager beaver where his woman is concerned, "he got rid of those and remarked with a groan, “Now I’m getting eager.” Her gaze wandered down to the front of his boxer briefs, and her smile brightened the dim corners of the lamp-lit room." I liked this book, James was a good man.

I really enjoyed this story. I love the characters. PawPaw is an ornery guy with a big heart. His methods of persuasion are just plain old fashioned but out of love. Addie is just as stubborn as her grandfather and James is patient enough to wait it out.
