THE GANG SERIES

The Bachelor

Rate this book
Writing fiction has always been my life. Since my childhood wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, writing gave me a sense of hope, a sense of control that I didn’t have over everything else. But what if fiction takes over your life and starts to write you instead? Will it give you what you need? Will it make you complete? I realize that life is not all fun and games and that it is indeed stranger than fiction. I ventured into the world of TV to find a place for myself and my career. But I found something else entirely. Love? Happy ending? Open up these pages and you be the judge.

Janelle Ruiz works as a nurse in Bacolod City. She likes the rain, jazz, and freshly brewed coffee. When she's not writing, she spends her time reading inspirational, suspense, and psychological thriller books. She dreams of becoming a forensic psychologist, but as of now, being one of the most amazing criminal profilers in her dreamland is enough. Apart from dreaming, reading and watching too much suspense/thriller television series and a lot of documentaries, she is also known to most of her personal friends and family as a painter.

The plot is really interesting. In fact, it's different to what I've read before. I honestly love the ending of this story, however, during the part where Jules quit The Bachelor and became pregnant, it's one of the parts I didn't really like that much, as well as her insecurity. No offense. Still, it's bearable for me enough to to finish reading it.

In my opinion this one is preferably one of the "good" books published by Pop fiction. I've discovered this at my favorite bookstore in town. Thank God my money is not wasted,it's worth it.

The story line reminds me of The Selection trilogy by Kierra Cass where a prince must choose among the 35 women to be his princess & bride. Both novels have similarities but they're not exactly the same.

Sorry but I have to tell this, there are a lot of times that I want to strangle Julienne for being so mean, irritating, coward and crazy.

but all in all I simply love the story though I've already expected the possible flow, still it never fails to amuse me. Kudos for the author, she's a very talented one. I hope to read more from her.

it was a horrible book, first of all we start with a fmc whose completely unrelatable and a spoiled little bitch, i think the name is julianne, while the dude is a spoiled brat who doesn't even think about the consequences of his actions.
julianne has a very poor character, she slutshames the others even without knowing them better and the author was trying way too hard on making her a damsel in distress and ended up just making her a bitch. Although I understand that she was completely uninterested in the show itself, why the fuck did she have to act lile that, there were women there genuinely doing it for the sake of passion and she just does that, she is completely unsensitive. And towards the relationship between her and zach, she acted so cold and unfeeling as if his didn't even matter. And she is so hypocritical about his behaviour, she called him possessive and childish yet there she goes throwing a tantrum when one of the girls does something to him, something she should have already known would happen since that was literally the whole point of the show. And zack did not make any sense, it was the worst cases of falling in love fast and hard, he fell in love with her because she was 'different', but then again all she had to do was act insensitive, he never ever bothered to actually form a friendship that turned into love, in this case it was even the other way around, and he is so reckless, he never felt any obligation for his family's company and reputation, something that his family worked hard to build from generation to generation, the two of them hardly had any qualities that involved their own lives, it was almost always about them and just two dimensional character in the back, i honestly even liked their friends more than them.
and it was hardly unique, it dragged on for so long but the ending was almost completely rushed like wtf. it was not worth buying at all.

To be honest... I'm just disappointed.

This book was not as good as I thought it would be. The main girl character (Jules) just really annoyed me. I mean, you could see that Zach actually liked her, but she kept on pushing him away and being rude for no reason. She called him being possessive childish, when in most relationships that's what the man is. She was just downright rude, and even after they did 'it' she still gave him the cold shoulder.

I knew she could be nice when she wanted to, so I was confused about why she was so mean to Zach. I swear, I don't know how Zach didn't snap at her sometimes, because I wouldn't last a week in the same building with her if I was him.

Also, things kinda happened too fast. I mean it was like Chapter 10 and Zach was already confessing his feelings, and there was 33 chapters. I ended up skipping a bit because I was getting impatient.

I'm sure the author is really good, but I don't think this is one of her best books.

PEACE LOVE

Well I have to admit that this was better than "The Despicable Guy." Like way better. I have to admit I got kilig in some parts (lol).
The big part I have a problem with though is the misusage of words the author has, and it was very frequent throughout the whole story. Like for example, the word "chided" was used to mean as "joked" but it actually means "scolded." I mean, the character's a writer.

I found myself skipping some parts too, but all in all, it was good. I hope to find books like these -- rare gems.

I have just recently stumbled into this book and while reading I have to constantly remind myself that this book was written 10 years ago.

The female lead/heroine’s perspective was funny, witty, and relatable until she joined the reality TV show. She becomes so misogynistic towards the other female constants and labeling them into different groups/clique. It reminded me of cliques in Mean Girls. Her doubts towards the male lead’s intentions towards her got old towards the middle and last parts of the story. It kind of got annoying.

The male lead has no deeper substance and personality aside from being a cocky, arrogant, playboy, and a spoiled brat who gets everything he wants. Aside from him liking to live in the ranch and being so madly and deeply in love with the female lead, I can’t say much about him.

Overall reading the book feels like reading the actual script from the real life The Bachelor reality TV show. If you like that show, this book is for you.

The first (and I guess only?) English-language wattpad story from the Philippines I've read from the short list I've checked out.

The writing isn't that bad, I guess, but the story is kind of... off sometimes. It's got some cliche stuff here and there especially with the characters being your stereotypical 'not like other girls' x 'rich and handsome guy with some issues and is popular with girls' type. It wouldn't have been so bad but the characters can be annoying sometimes. Especially the main male love interest which sucks cause he's one of the protags and it was harder for me to finish reading cause he's the focus of half the story and I can't just ignore him.

Some parts are cute though and kinda okay so I guess it wasn't super bad.

I remember reading this on wattpad, while waiting for Liam's story to be over!
I don't remeber much of it, but i remember that i liked both of the characters, and although the rest of the clan didn't show much in this one, it was pretty funny!
I liked Zack's childishness, that was evened by Jil/jules (i don't remember her name)'s maturity!
Greenwriter is one of the best authors on wattpad, and all of her books are worth more then just a second look! they're worth a read and countless re-reads!!

Love the plot. So refreshing. I love the childish side of Zach ang I want to hug him for that and Jules, sweet Jules. Love the way she stands out because she's just being on herself. Well I love how this story is a quick read but I'm not satisfied to the ending I guess? Nevertheless, I still love this story.

Apparently, consent is not a thing. The two main characters were aggravating. None of this would be allowed in an actual televised show. Where is the security in this place?? And I'm still trying to figure out how one "casually showers". And - I'm nitpicking here - no one wears a nice white shirt while working on a ranch because that's shirt ain't stayin' white.

This story from ate Janelle (AKA one of the greatest Wattpad authors ever) didn't fail my expectations. For some reason however, I kept on looking for more in Zach and Julianne's story. Perhaps something more in their chemistry. Undoubtedly, though, their story worked out so well. Julianne's behavior from the very beginning was understandable, given what she had gone through in life early on. It's also impressive how the characters had developed throughout the story, especially Zach. Like the usual, there is never a dull moment in ate Janelle's narration. Her style of writing makes it hard for the story to be put down.

Highly recommended, as usual.
