Selling blood to vampires is dangerous, but 21-year-old Alec could use some extra cash. The agency promises everything will be safe and simple: a vampire orders for delivery, and the agency sends a willing human to sate the vampire’s thirst. When Alec arrives at the vampire’s estate on his first call, he expects to be nervous. What he doesn’t expect is his immediate, overwhelming attraction to Leander Garrison.

Tall, powerful, and breathtakingly handsome Leander wants to help Alec get comfortable before they begin. But as Alec’s nervousness fades, the Leander’s predatory gaze arouses an entirely different reaction. The seductive, dominant vampire wants more than Alec’s blood—and Alec is more than happy to submit!

Never Been Bitten is 8,100 words of scorching-hot gay vampire-on-human action, filled with domination, submission, and a bite to remember!

This is the first part of a short, hot trilogy about a college student needing money and signing up to blood delivery service for Vampires. 🥵

“Leander’s hands slid up from Alec’s ass to work under his shirt, tracing a disarming path up his spine. “Yes, I want to bite you. I want to grab hold of your pretty blond hair to hold you down while I tear open your pretty neck. I want to drink my fill of you while you squirm beneath me.”

NEVER BEEN BITTEN was a sexy vampire short and I loved Alec and Leander! With money tight, Alec signs up to be a blood "donor" for vampires but his first call turns into so much more. This erotic short comes in fast and hot but you still get just enough of Alec and Leander's personalities to see how they could fit together.

Colour me intrigued.

A university student signs up to do blood "donations" for vampires to get some extra cash, and gets a lot more than just money in return.

Sexual content: Erotic short.

Le sigh...

So much packed into a short story.

Despite being so short, I really enjoyed the blood delivery and whoa on the hotness. I was not expecting the instasex but was very happy to see it.

Acceptable worldbuilding for a shorter story, great chemistry, but this isn't a romance so don't expect one.

Great short story!

This was another great short story by Tavia Lark. It has a hint of D/s and is the first in the series. I can't wait to read the next book!

A cute short with a young guy and the vampire who hires him as a snack. Lots of sexy times ensue. I would happily read more in this world and about the featured couple.

I really like this author, but I wanted more substance than just a simple sex scene and no real story. Oh, well...

3.5⭐

Very predictable but also delectable piece of vampire erotica. I would read a proper novel about this.

I read this for 'blood play' in a challenge and while that's not my favourite thing, I do kind of wish that if/when vampire stories go there, they would then revel in it a bit more.

Overall, a delicious spiced read for a raining afternoon. :)

PROS
The intensity of their love making is too much. I found myself breaking a sweat on the bus as I read this book, as I couldn’t openly drool at my ebook, haha!

CONS
The book is too short, even for a short story, there is TONS of instalove and the book ends out of nowhere =(

QUOTES
“Next he’ll say he can smell the English Major on me.” – Alec’s thoughts

~*~

Leander: What happened to undressing?
Alec: Oh, now you are on schedule.

M/M Paranormal Romance, Vampires and Instalove fans!

Never Been Bitten is the first in a three part short story series by Tavia Lark.
The story revolves around what is called a Vampire Delivery Service where the vampire purchases the blood gift from a willing participant for cash.
The three part series is Never Been Bitten, Bitten with Benefits and Bitten Steady.
The "hero" is Alec, a college student who is trying to finance his college expenses by selling his blood via the Vampire Delivery Service. His first customer is Leander, a (sigh, so predictable) very beautiful male vampire. The two meet at Leander's home, and there is an instant attraction between the two.
In Never Been Bitten, the couple meet, connect and have a terrifically sexy evening together.
In Bitten with Benefits, the couple meet again for another transaction and once again have a terrifically sexy evening together, falling deeper under each other's spell.
In Bitten Steady, the relationship reaches a final climax where love conquers all and the couple declare their love for each other.
While the stories are short, roughly 32 pages each, the stories are very well written and there is, in remarkably short stories, very good character description, back story, and the author brings the reader willingly into the lives of the characters. The sex scenes are very scintillating, torrid without being trashy and while the reader says "this is so typical of the m/m genre of writing" the author draws the reader in, makes you like the characters and you instantly obtain the other two stories in the series to find out how the series ends.
All in all, the author makes this reader want to read more. Congratulations, Tavia Lark. Well done. You have taken the typical m/m genre, used its' broad outlines and created something which is a willing suspension of disbelief and one hopes she takes these short stories, explores the depth of the characters and turns it into a full fledged novel.
Many thanks for the quick and yet captivating read. More, please.

Surprisingly well written.

I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting much. The author seemed vaguely familiar to me, the premise was something I could get behind, and it was only 8100 words. It looks like there’s a continuing storyline in two additional books, but I didn’t have anything to lose as it was in KU. Further proof that you should never judge a book by its cover! While a minor blip in time, this book packs a wallop in a short amount of pages. Alec is a student heading to a vampires’s house to give blood for money. He finds an unexpected surprise as he becomes both a meal and dessert for his client. Short, sweet, and steamy with no editing snafus! The author can actually WRITE (and does it quite well) with the perfect amount of description and content to make a short story feel so much bigger and badder than it actually is. Let me tell you, Alec and Leander burn up the…wall?…and I was not disappointed in how I spent twenty minutes of my time. I’ll be sure to check out more of Lark’s work

He knew the plan- get to the vampire's house, give blood, and leave. Check his bank account for the direct deposit in the morning. He could follow the plan. He was terrified of the plan, but he could follow it.

I've always enjoyed the idea of blood delivery services for the 21st century vampires and this tasty snack of a book delivered us right into things. While it wasn't anything I hadn't read before, it was still an enjoyable, too-brief interlude between other books!

"So, you never used to hunt for your dinner?"
Leander's answering grin was razor-sharp. "Actually," he purred. "I still hunt for my dinner."

I'll definitely pick up the next two shorts in this series and see where Alec and Leander take us!

For a really short story this was... HOT and GREAT and kinda sweet? It definitely left me wanting more.

Can't say much about the characters since I just "met" them but that's also a good thing since this is a 3 part short story series. There are questions about both of them and their relationship. While in Alec's case he seems to be the classic young student in need of cash and Leander the classic cliché millionaire vampire. There's a difference to it, in the way they interact, how their relationship develops but mostly in Tavia Lark's style of writing that makes this a whole new experience, I'm definitely left wanting to read more.

5 out of 5 and I'm onto book 2. and 7 out of 5 on the HOT scale cause DANG! This book while short really was HOT

A well written beginning. I enjoyed the characters and story line, but while not a 'cliff hanger' per se it doesn't feel complete. It is too short to develop the characters or story line much. There are two more books in the series and all three can be purchased as a collection, but I find that $4 for 79 total pages is a bit too steep for my taste. I would willingly read other works by the author.

"It hurt, but he didn’t want to show that. He loved the ache too much. The thought of being under such rigid control, of giving himself up to the vampire’s pleasure, was more than enough to propel him through the pain. He was high on the submission, high on the pain, high on the breathlessness—on his own pleasure surging within him.
And then Leander pulled out and held him away by the hair. “You like that?”

Meh picked this up on a whim after I finished Prince and Assassin and it was kind of a letdown. Didn't really feel the chemistry between the characters and couldn't really get into the smut either. I only finished reading it because it was so short and I was hoping it'd get better.

When the main character keeps talking about 'school' not university or whatever...CREEPY AND GROSS. How old is he?!
Puts 2 fingers in and he's like 'I'll "...take Leander's fist one go..." OH PLEASE WTF, WHEN THEY JUST STARTED?!
50% it was dull.
"Oh you talk to much" - hasnt said anything.
"Sir" was cringe.

Enjoyable ~

I enjoyed reading this story. It had a lot of emotions and well versed descriptions of the setting, the meeting and their very close encounter. The storyline just flowed.

This was a really hot little read! I love the premise of a delivery service for vampires to order a human to drink from.

Vampire sex is always a bit kinky with the biting, then add in a hot vampire who likes being called “sir” and I’m hooked

I liked it

I love bite size stories, they are the perfect no commitment experience. This 30 page story erotica did what it needed to do.
I found it interesting and smutty. Will be reading the next installment

This was an ok read for 33pgs. However, I'm not sure I was hooked enough to want to read the other two books in the series. I don't have an opinion really on either character. They were both just meh...

Self contained, this short erotica is nonetheless the first instalment in a series of three.
It is enjoyable, far from unforgettable, but decidedly overpriced.
