Futuristic, OK read. If there were sexual olympics - these two would be world class competitors. Not too surprising considering how much of their time [and the book] they spend 'practicing their craft'.

There's a sequel - Mine To Take - available only as an ebook from Ellora's Cave.

Illusions promises cyber-sex and adventure to anyone with the bank account to pay their hefty price. Aleea NaDeera, fed-up with her boring existence as a Port Authority employee on Centera, pays the price and enters into the illusion with instructions to find Prince Raeder.
Raeder needs the psychic energy of his soul mate to re-charge the force-field that protects his family’s holdings throughout the galaxy. When males of his lineage and psychic ability find their genetically matched soul mate, they emit a psychic power more than one hundred times stronger than either of the pair could hope to produce alone. This energy-fed force field has kept Raeder’s people free and safe for thousands of years but the fields are weakening. Genetic matches for Darkeen males are scarce in spite of the genetic testing that goes on at Illusions, a front designed to bring genetic matches to the Darkeen across the universe. When it seems all hope is lost and the shields will fail, Aleea is identified as Raeder's genetic match and thrust across the portals into his waiting arms. Raeder is determined to tie Aleea to him with bonds forged by sexual pleasure but Aleea knows that all isn’t as it seems. They will have to put their mistrust and differences aside in order to save Raeder’s people but by then it might be too late for Aleea.
The premise behind this story was pretty solid in spite of the many variables the author painted in. The sex scenes were intense and well-written.
I would have liked to see some form of acknowledgement that Aleea was, indeed, kidnapped and swindled by Illusions but that was glossed over as inconsequential. I consider myself fairly astute and still had to read sections of this story again in order to figure out exactly what was happening. Several of the supporting characters were used as plot-turning devices but their motives were neither foreshadowed nor explained. Given the author’s descriptive ability, I think that if this story were 180 pages instead of 126, the holes in the story would be filled-in perfectly.

First paragraph: Raeder, his shield-brother Kael behind him, translocated to the surface of Callen Minor. Except scorched rubble, nothing else was left. Everything and everyone was gone and he hadn’t been here to defend them.

"Raeder's Woman" begins interestingly enough - a galactic royal prince must find his genetic match using a virtual-fantasy sex store in order to help protect the psychic barrier that keeps his people safe from other space invaders. :) Charming and cheesy and lots of potential here for fun and games. Unfortunately, the majority of the story - approximately 90% of it - is straight up sex. Porn, and not necessarily good porn at that. Raeder's weapon, if you will, was so oversized our poor heroine was in pain more often than not. But worry not - Raeder was able to deflate it using the powers of his mind so it wouldn't hurt so bad the first time. And he could also secrete special "love juices" for extra super duper lubrication.

It was about at this point that I stopped reading and had to skim through the rest of our couple's multiple bouts of intercourse. Which composed most of the rest of the book.

On a positive note, Raeder got the psychic shield working again. And his planet is safe again - can't say too much about our heroine, though.

This book was an ok short story. It was a ok steamy romance but thought it could have had more to the story line. The story seemed to involve more sex then an actual story. Think it would have been better if it had been longer with more of a storyline. Do not think I will read it again. x
