Ripley Van Raden guides tour-goers through the spooky streets and creepy buildings on her popular ghost tour. She deals with ghosts on a daily basis in her haunted hometown of Devil's Moon.
Spirits aren't only there at night. During the day, as head librarian, Ripley chats with the ghost of the town’s former librarian via text and social media.
When a team of film makers want to include Ripley's tour in their documentary she agrees. It sounds like a great way to promote her tour. No sooner does the camera stop rolling when one of the crew members is murdered.
Sinister spirits have potentially attached to Ripley’s boyfriend Officer Brannon Landon and now she has to find out if there's a connection to the murder before the final chapter of her book ends for good.

This book surprised me. I didn't notice as many issues with other books but this one was a bit confusing. I had to re-read sections just to make sure I wasn't imagining it. It seems to jump about a bit and there are some grammar issues scattered throughout. However, I still enjoyed the story. There were so many ghosts in this one. Overall, a good book but could use an editor.
I wanted to like this mystery featuring a library director, but I just couldn't. Maybe if I had read the series from the beginning, but as it is I kept dozing off in what should have been the most exciting parts. I like a good ghost in a mystery as much as the next person, but with the exception of the library ghost, who seemed all too human, the other ghosts didn't do much for me. And, as other reviewers pointed out, the editing was pretty terrible.
Not a bad choice to pass a couple of hours. It's cute and the characters remain true to their previous appearances. That said, the editing is atrocious. Please, authors, check for verb tense, subject-verb agreement, pronoun reference, and proper plurals.
This book is the worst written book I have ever read and I've read thousands of books. The continuity was horrible. I thought authors have editors to check this stuff? It reads like a children's book. If it is for children she is doing them a disservice! I will not be buying this series any longer!
I would have thought by now that the author would be running out of murders, but thankfully she hasn't. This time it's a film crew member filming Ripley's tour that winds up dead. Ok, murdered! Ripley does what she does best, and involves herself in the case. I'd like to know more about Mrs. Clutterback the cemetery ghost who wants Ripley gone. Hopefully, in subsequent book the author will "flesh" out her character. (Pardon the pun). Annie is a great character too even though she's the resident library ghost. She likes Ripley and communicates with her via text messages and email. I think this is a very unique way of letting the main character communicate with a ghost.
As usual, Ripley is a bit dumb and she is still involving herself in dangerous situations. I suppose she always will. (Heavy sigh). Since we have no time frame in the books, it could be that everything has been happening during a period of weeks and so Ripley hasn't processed everything yet and absorbed the fact that she is leaping into trouble. (Yeah, I'm going to stick with that explanation.). :)
The story dragged a bit in this book but not enough to make me lose interest in the rest of the series. Every author has books that just don't flow for whatever reason.
The Library gets another new assistant, Monica; the Library board selected this one, & Rip is not exactly impressed. In the meantime, a film crew wants to include Rip's Ghost Tour in their documentary. Monica, the new assistant decides she wants to be featured in the documentary, even though she has nothing to do with the tour. Then one of the crew gets murdered soon after the cameras stop. And to make matters weirder, Rip notices some spirits that seemed to have attached themselves to her boyfriend, Officer Landan. How & why did this happen, & more important, how does one get rid of these spirits?
Afterwards she notices spirits attached to some of the film crew, & weirder still, they seem to be aware of it, & encouraged it. Now why is that? And what is Landan's ex wife doing talking with the film crew? What's going on? Again, there were a lot of grammatical errors, misspellings, etc, thus the 4 star rating. But her story telling is wonderful.
While the fourth installment is better than the previous three, it is still in need of an editor/proof reader. There are continuity errors and while the basic story has potential, it suffers because of them. One thing that bothered me is that the main character doesn't actually have much impact in the solving of this mystery. The police solve it despite her. She just keeps getting into trouble and needing rescue. And to make things worse, you really don't get to hear how the police went about getting the information they needed to solve the case. This book is disjointed, difficult to read and amateurish. I got the entire four books free through an amazon promotion, and must say I'd have stopped reading after the first one had I been required to pay.
I look at all the 5 star reviews and tried to figure out what I missed. Although I've kept up with the series, this particular story seemed more like a draft than a finished product. I had to re-read several paragraphs to figure out who said what or what was going on.
The actions of the main character Rip was just mind-blowing dumb throughout the entire story. The other characters seemed to be thrown in just to pad the number of pages. The only "mystery" was how in the world this story was ever published.
I was a loyal reader of Ms. Pressey's work until now. I felt like no effort whatsoever was put into this project. Thank good for Amazon for allowing me to read it free. If I had to pay, I would have been upset.
Sorry, but I'm afraid I'm finished with this author.
Books, ghosts and murder! Whole I DO like this series year round, around Halloween a ghost mystery just seems right. You can read the blurb to have a good idea of the book, I won’t drop any spoilers. Just a word of advice, read the first in the series first, after that you will at least have the basics. I am hoping in at least 1 of these stories that the female lead is not on the verge of being killed.
I really liked this book and the characters in it. The one thing I am not fond of are sentences that don't make sense, missing words, and words spelled wrong. I was very surprised then that I found more than ten of these. A few I didn't even take note of. I would think that there is someone that goes thru the book after all other drafts are done and before it gets published. I did like the story and will keep reading the series. I do hope there aren't so many mistakes in the next books.
Ripley is talked into allowing a film crew to use her haunting tour for their documentary. The day after the taping, she finds the producer dead. Then, the "owner" commits suicide. Meanwhile, ghosts are following all the production people . Who is the murderer? Why are the ghosts following people? Will Mrs. Agnew fire Rip from the library? Another fun read about life in a small, haunted town.
This book is almost in spoopy territory. There is an atmospheric creepiness in her stories. In this book, Rip is approached by a paranormal investigator to film her tour for a documentary. She is also getting closer to Officer Brannon, chewed out by the head of the library board, and sightings of shadows among other things like murder. A nice cozy afternoon read.
If you ever thought of going on a ghost tour, then this book is for you! Rather spooky ghosts hiding behind bushes etc., make our heroine nervous, even though she has casual conversations with the ghost who lives in the library where she works. Mystery, murder, and lots of ghosts! If they are your cup of tea, then you'll enjoy this book.
I have read the first four books in this series,I have enjoyed them all. I have found some misprint in the stories but but nothing to bad. Ms. Pressed tells and great story,I love the characters and the plots of the books. Looking forward to finishing the series and reading more of her works.Thank you for sharing.
I was enchanted with the first three books. This book however lost my interested quickly. Just lacked what the first three did. There was a lot of detail left out. It felt rushed. There would be a new “event”, and it was never again mention. Made me go back several times and checked to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Hoping the next one makes up for it.
It's always hard to find the answers to a mystery, especially when there's witnesses with you and they have a camera. Ripley faces that when she agrees to be film during her tour. Always be on the look-out for clues and things that are not normal at the time. You'll never know...they might be useful in the end.

Ripley, head librarian and local ghost tour guide, has a knack for seeing ghosts and getting into trouble. As the bodies pile up, events get spookier and every turn is a potential threat. An edge-of-your-seat thriller that hooks you til the end!
Ripley and Brannon find themselves in the middle of more paranormal activity and a murder and work together to figure it out while getting closer in their relationship. I can't wait to see what happens in book 5!
Rose Pressey's books are fun, lighthearted and humorous. I recommend this series of cozy mysteries to anyone who likes a lighthearted romp through the cemetery full of ghost and goblins.
I love a good mystery and add in a few ghosts, it makes for a fun read. I really like all of the characters, they are very relatable. The mystery is always well plotted and fun to figure out.
Nice plot. Seemed like more editing errors than before. Still hard to understand when RIP is texting with Anne. Upside RIP didn't come off as such a scaredy cat in this book.
I want to keep reading this series but how many times can her friends and cop boyfriend deal with the stupid things she does - like go to abandoned asylums to meet someone who might be guilty of murder, on her own!
The Librarian and the cop! Ripley works at the library. In fact, she's the head librarian! Ripley loved her Library and she gives ghost tours in her little town. When some Documentary fillers come to town all you know what breaks loose!
Weaker than others in the series to.many loose ends and weak plot I like this author just to many weak and loose ends wishy washy explanations and once more a dude employee with no real disciplinary interaction
I'm in love with Rip and her haunted tour! I love how spine chilling Rip's mysterious adventures are even though she's a little dense. Not to mention that Brandon is cute and sexy but I wish there was more of him in the beginning. I loved it and can't wait for more!
Have you ever been on a ghost tour? They can give you a wealth of historical information, a different view of a town or place--this book gives you that insight without having to leave the comfort of your home. A great cozy murder mystery.
Too many typos and incorrect references to prior events, etc.
Previous books didn't have all these mistakes. It really needs a major re-editing!. I'm going to try one more book but if it's as big a mess as this one, I'm done!
