It was the day of The Iron Rain, when the whole planet was battered and buffeted and almost destroyed by millions of meteorites. It was a day death, agony and terror, a day of reckoning for those who remained. Some emerged as selfless heroes---others used the tragedy to further their own ends. This is Harry Blackman's story. He would never claim heroism but his is a the brave story of a desperate struggle for survival and of a search for happiness amid the ruins.
My rating of one star is strictly due to the cover by Frank Kelly Freas. I purchased this paperback at a book sale with four other Lazar Books. I made the purchase strictly because all the covers were done by Frank Kelly Freas and were in excellent condition. I'm big fan of Frank Kelly Freas.
Another side note is the similar premise of this 1976 book and the 2017 book, The End of the World Running Club by Adrian J. Walker. Both books take place in Scotland in the aftermath of a meteor shower impacting Earth.
